Somber walk to honor veterans

The National Cemetery is open dawn to dusk for visitation. The grounds were very well maintained. Every headstone represents a hero; however, I spent a little extra time at the grave of Medal of Honor recipient, Desmond Doss.

    Gives you chills.
I was there to say goodbye and put some coins on my Best Friend's Grave, We grew up together and served in the Submarine Service together. What a place. you can't help but get chills being surrounded by mall f the heroes there, I would have loved to have been able to thank each and everyone of them.

    we found GGGGGranddad
After finding some new branches on our family tree we found out that a 4x great granddad was buried here. Being from up north we had no idea we lived so close. After walking around, asking several different times for location help (the office was closed), we finally found Granddad. Probably the only family that has ever visited his grave. A stunningly beautiful cemetery that is heartbreakingly very large. well maintained and respectfully cared for. will be back.
