    Jack Daniel's Distillery image
This is an outstanding distillery tour and yes you can sample the Tennessee Whiskey if you sign up for the proper tour. I do recommend signing up in advance as the tours can sell out. There is a gift shop that has some really great Jack Daniels items and not a bunch of cheap, Chinese stuff. I reviewed Jack Daniel's 4 and 1/2 years ago but it was stuck in TA's draft file. It's probably still valid. See more..

What a blast!! I’d been whitewater rafting before but my husband and two kids hadn’t. My 13 year old daughter was very nervous, I’m sure the other rafters heard her screams but she wants to try it again she had such a good time!! My 16 year old son wants to work for the company. He is hooked!! The bus ride made me nervous because it was filled but we wore masks and eyeglasses, used hand sanitizer, and then everyone got on their own rafts so that was fine. I did convince my son and daughter to jump into the river with me, but my hubby stayed in the raft. Hitting the rapids was awesome! We felt very safe with the guides. If your zip lining too definitely book online...SMO partners with CLIMBWORKS and you can get an additional discount. See more..

    Parrot Mountain & Gardens image
This place is amazing!! Went with my family of 5. Me, my husband and and our 3 children 14, 5 and almost 3 year old And we all loved it so much! Wear comfortable shoes, definitely hills and lots of walking. Wear comfortable clothes. Bought the serum for the birds to pretty much attack you and drink it up. Highly recommend we were all cracking up!! If you can’t do steep hills you may want to look into the driving golf cart tours. Just walking into the place is intense with the steep hill you are standing in line to pay for the tickets. Arrived right when it opened. Planned to go eat after. Definitely do that. When we were leaving around noon the parking lot was mobbed. Not sure anyone else could fit. Opted to not eat there. Way to small decided to go to BBQ BUSTN BUTTS after. Only a few min away. Best BBQ around. It was a great day! See more..

    - Give it a shot!
    Saturday: 10:00 AM - 11:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Distilleries
    Ole Smoky Whiskey Barrelhouse image
Having been to Gatlinburg a few times over recent years, I have always noticed these "whiskey" establishments but never felt inclined to enter --- until now. I had some free time, and I thought I would treat myself to this experience. The place wasn't very crowded, and I was able to look around unimpeded. Then I decided to approach one of the bartender stations. Catalina was the employee who assisted me and another guest. She was polite and humorous as she explained the procedure for the tasting and the costs of any purchase, some of which came with a color (size of cooler dependent on number of bottles purchased). Catalina did her part in making the experience fun and enjoyable. I enjoyed the various samples. I requested a specific flavor that wasn't among the ones typically featured, and Catalina allowed me to have my request in place of one of the other flavors. When I left the station, I did make a purchase and got a complementary cooler. Give it a shot! See more..

We will be back August 13 with a group of 10 senior boys and all of mommas and we hope that High Country has their “A” game on to show us what fun can be had on the river. I hope that Gabe will be working that day! See more..

    River Rat Whitewater Rafting image
I can't say enough about this experience. The crew was so fun and exciting. They all had different fun outfits on and really seemed to love what they do. There was never a dull moment, even on the bus ride up the river they were telling stories and joking and laughing. We chose the extreme raft and were lucky enough to get the coolest, funniest and most knowledgeable guide on the river, Ewok! He took us down runs that none of the other rafts were going down and did a bunch of different moves and tricks with us. He was so personable and friendly. I was really nervous about rafting for the first time and he made me feel super comfortable. Wouldn't have changed anything about it. See more..

    - Fun with Raft One and Junior!
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM Water Sports
    Raft One image
Raft One was one of the best whitewater rafting experiences we’ve taken and we’ve been on many. It started with an excellent safety presentation that was funny and entertaining enough to keep everyone engaged and continued with the easiest and most time efficient load out of equipment and rafts and then onto the buses for the short ride to the Middle Ocoee. Junior was an outstanding guide who figured out quickly that we wanted adventure and we’re willing to take a few risks for the big payoff. In other words he pushed our group right to the edge for two and a half thrilling hours and finished us off with a expertly executed boat flip that left us all smiling and cheering. Importantly he took charge of the boat and made sure everyone was safe even when we wanted a little more. He was the consummate pro and clearly loved his job on the Ocoee. Junior is the kind of guide that brings you back and we will be back for another exciting day of fun with Raft One. See more..

I highly recommend getting the $1 booklet and map at the visitor’s center before driving out to Cades Cove. It gives history of the buildings and other information. I want to go back and be able to do some hiking to the waterfalls. See more..

    - Best Rafting Company and Guide!
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM River Rafting & Tubing
    Raft Outdoor Adventures image
Outstanding experience! Our family of 4 went on the double run trips on June 2 and had the good fortune of having Nic as our guide for both runs! Nic is very experienced as he’s been a guide for 6 years and rafts for fun when not at work! Safety was the first priority and fun was next on the list. He had control of the raft throughout the trips and was able to steer us right into best parts of the rapids. He turned us at different points for equal splashing opportunities!! Each employee we came into contact with was nice. They keep all the rafts on each trip in a safe proximity in case a boat is in need. The bathroom and changing facilities were the nicest for any similar type outdoor experience business we’ve ever seen and we’ve been to 49 US states so that’s a huge compliment. They have a photographer situated at a rapid and we bought the 15 digital pictures and they were great. I highly recommend this specific rafting company!! See more..

    Cherokee Rafting image
The guides tell you exactly what to expect and how to maneuver everything to ensure everyone has a good time and also remain safe while doing so. Aaron has been our guide twice and he is very good. I would totally recommend Cherokee rafting in general if you want to try white water rafting and also I recommend Aaron as a guide but it did seem that all of their guides were good at what they do. We had enough people for two boats and the people in the other boat also had a good experience with Josh. We hope to go at least once per summer and will request Aaron again if he’s available. Eat the first rapid, he was hooked. So this past August when we went, we requested Shane, but he was not available, so we had Jedi Mike as our guide. He was funny and reassuring. 37. 5.0 Smoky Mountain Llama Treks (943 reviews)
    - up close and personal
Saturday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Hiking & Camping Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
    Smoky Mountain Llama Treks image
Thanks to a groupon we enjoyed the up close and personal with the llama herd - otherwise it could have been a pretty expensive meet and greet. The road in is something of trial for smaller lower cars - breeze for trucks though. The hikes....or walks in the woods are pricey enough for a family of four to feel the need for a little more.... without the groupon the pen experience would have been $60 Overall a really good experience hanging out in the llama pen listening to Steve's string of anecdotes for an hour. The event probably needs a little more structure - such as grooming and feeding. One of the visitors had heard about the llama cravings for graham crackers and that brought the time to a fitting end. The "handsome guys" Jack and Corey kept us safe in the UTV. Alissa, Noah, and Joseph were wonderful as well, made us all feel comfortable for each of the 3 drops. Wildwater Rafting - Ocoee image
We loved the Ocoee combo that we did this weekend with 9 friends. We were split into two rafts with strangers, but I think if we had 10, we would have been able to split into 2 rafts without strangers. Loved our guide Ryan and he made sure we had a great time! We were kinda bummed that the cameras malfunction when we had some pretty epic pics at the Olympic section, but other than that all pics turned out great! Highly recommend doing the combo and not just one portion of the Ocoee- it would be too short just do to one! See more..
  40. 5.0 USA Raft Adventure Resort (876 reviews)
    - Beautiful River and Rafting Experience
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM River Rafting & Tubing
    USA Raft Adventure Resort image
This was my first time rafting on anything higher than a Class 2. I'm not a water sports person so was a little apprehensive but allowed my friend to talk me into it. After some healthy scare tactics on the way to the put-in, I felt the tension ease as we actually got on the river. I had an absolute blast on this trip. We did have a moment on a class 4 rapid in which we nearly capsized but our SUPERB guide Hannah expertly guided us and we miraculously exited the rapid all in the boat in dry!! 11/10 recommend her, she is so knowledgeable and passionate about the Asheville/Erwin area as well as its wilderness and rivers. Lastly, the foliage and scenery of the gorge was magnificent! See more..

Plenty of liquid sunshine did not dampen our day! I was really worried about the weather, but we were so wet from the rapids, the rain was unnoticeable!! Fast Fred was a great guide and we all had a wonderful time!!! My only complaint was the cost of the photos. I really wanted 1 or 2 pictures, but it was $55 for all pics. I didn’t want that many and didn’t want to spend that much. I have great memories but no pictures to share. See more..
  44. 5.0 Newfound Gap Road (773 reviews)
    - Spectacular Drive
    Scenic Drives
    Newfound Gap Road image
This is the main route that traverses Great Smoky Mountain National Park and offers spectacular views along the way. Many places to pull off but the best views are found at Newfound Gap, Luftee Overlook, and Morton’s Overlook. Beware that there was construction when I visited last month with single lane traffic at 1 point making for some long delays if arriving during the busiest times of the day See more..

This is the 7th time I’ve been here and this time my sister got to experience ziplining and white water rafting for her first time. JC and Isabella were great ziplining guides and Bailey was the best guide for water rafting. I would highly recommend this company as they always have the best staff & guides for a very enjoyable experience. See more..

First time rafting and it was a blast! Joseph was an excellent guide who made the white water rafting experience on Upper Pigeon a whole lot more fun with tricks to get splashed! In terms of safety, his guidance helped us avoid all kinds of rocks and nobody went unintentionally overboard, lol. Their last run at 4:45PM-6:45PM was a perfect time of the day for us and the price per person is very affordable. Highly recommend to go with a group of 6 you know for an adventurous memory. Customer service was also super friendly--totally recommend their business for your experience. See more..

  50. 5.0 Foothills Parkway (599 reviews)
    - Enjoyable Tour
Spent < 1 hour Scenic Drives
    Foothills Parkway image
This road is well worth the drive and not nearly as crowded as Cades Cove Loop or Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail. We actually saw few other cars and had no issue parking at any of the overlooks. The MAX speed limit is 35 MPH. Some of the few cars we did see were flying thru there and tailgating. I don't get that. If you are in a hurry stay on the main roads. We did not do the entire road as there is a portion that is currently closed and not due to open until 5/21/2022. See more..
