Enjoyable Tour
This road is well worth the drive and not nearly as crowded as Cades Cove Loop or Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail. We actually saw few other cars and had no issue parking at any of the overlooks. The MAX speed limit is 35 MPH. Some of the few cars we did see were flying thru there and tailgating. I don't get that. If you are in a hurry stay on the main roads. We did not do the entire road as there is a portion that is currently closed and not due to open until 5/21/2022.

Beautiful Drive! Take it End to End.
This is a spectacular drive from Townsend to Lake Chilhowee. Make sure you drive the whole length, it is worth it. there are picnic tables along Lake Chilhowee where you can have lunch with a beautiful view. Follow US129 south past the lake to experience The Dragon, 11 miles of 318 curves.
