If you're looking for a fun, positive, and memorable experience, Smoky Mountain River Rat is a must do!
Whether you just want to catch some scenery or you are feeling a bit more adventurous, Smoky Mountain River Rat is the place to go. From start to finish this place had great customer service, and you can tell that these folks have a passion for their profession. Our group, a family of five, decided to raft the upper pigeon. Admittedly, we were a bit hesitant as some first-time rafters visiting with our father/grandfather who is in his 80's; however, the trip couldn't have gone better! Evil Wilson was an incredible guide. He was easy-going, knowledgeable, entertaining, and, most importantly, kept everyone safe. Aside from the exceptional customer service and rafting experience (shoutout to our bus driver Larry who checked us in upon arrival and Ethan our rafting safety), I find it important to note that the gift shop prices were also extremely reasonable. Float straps for glasses were less than ten bucks. The water shoes were about half the purchase price of the ones that some of our group purchased in Gatlinburg, and they were of better quality too. Cheaper and better, yes please! Overall, our family had a fantastic time; everyone agreed that it was their favorite activity during our week stay in the Sevierville/Gatlinburg area which included visits to Dollywood, Clingman's Dome, Harrahs, and both tourist strips. I would love to return to check out what River Rat's xtreme rafting trip has to offer. Thanks again for the awesome ride!

If you're thinking of white water rafting PICK RIVER RATS!!!!
I can't say enough about this experience. The crew was so fun and exciting. They all had different fun outfits on and really seemed to love what they do. There was never a dull moment, even on the bus ride up the river they were telling stories and joking and laughing. We chose the extreme raft and were lucky enough to get the coolest, funniest and most knowledgeable guide on the river, Ewok! He took us down runs that none of the other rafts were going down and did a bunch of different moves and tricks with us. He was so personable and friendly. I was really nervous about rafting for the first time and he made me feel super comfortable. Wouldn't have changed anything about it.
