5 Star Places To Visit in Oregon, United States (50)
5.0Haystack Rock(3.271 reviews) - Towering scenery and raw Nature Spent 1-2 hours Beaches • Geologic Formations
Haystack Rock is a unique 235 feet monolith that attracts wildlife and tourists alike and is part of the Oregon Coast’s geological history, formed millions of year ago by lava flows that created many of the dramatic capes and headlands along the coast. Haystack Rock is protected under U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as a seabird nesting colony and it is part of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge and is a State protected Marine Garden. The Rock is home to nesting seabirds in the summer and marine invertebrates all year. Tidepool seekers are beckoned by its wonders every day. The Haystack Rock Awareness Program (HRAP) is a stewardship and environmental educational program whose mission is to protect, through education, the intertidal and bird ecology of the Marine Garden and Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge at Haystack Rock. HRAP offers an extensive interpretive program on the beach during the spring and summer months around low tide.See more..

Beautiful lake which is the centerpiece of Crater Lake National Park.See more..
Ecola State Park requires paying a $5 Day Use Fee. We came on Tuesday 7/27 around 3 pm. We did not have any issues finding parking. In the parking lot is a machine for you to purchase the $5 ticket. Credit cards are accepted and the Pass is placed on your dash. You can walk around and even see the Tillamook Rock Lighthouse which sits on an island. We also drove to Indian Beach which is part of Ecola State Park.See more..
5.0Pedal Bike Tours(1.569 reviews) - Fun Afternoon Sunday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Bike Tours • Gear Rentals
I took the Columbia Gorge tour, and it was a fabulous afternoon. I'd driven that road before, but it's so much better when you take it on the bike's slower pace--you're really able to appreciate the beauty. Our fearless leader, Daniel, was great with local history and facts and kept us rolling along at a nice pace. I'd highly suggest this for anyone new to the area, or perhaps a small group looking for a way to spend the afternoon in a gorgeous part of the area.See more..
5.0Wildwood Adventures(1.240 reviews) - Wine tour on my last day in Portland Sunday: 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM City Tours • Sightseeing Tours • Private Tours • Wine Tours & Tastings • Day Trips
I enjoyed my last day in Portland taking a wine tour in Willamette Valley with Malia as a wonderful tour guide. Malia gave a good talk about the development of the wineries in the valley and the success of the Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir wines from Oregon. The tour included the visit of three wineries and tasting. Highly recommended tour to learn more about the wines from Oregon!See more..
5.0Columbia River Gorge(1.226 reviews) - Best Way to See the Falls Canyons • Geologic Formations
The Columbia River Gorge, a 75-mile canyon through the Cascades, is a broad, picturesque river with water-controlling dams.See more..
5.0Cape Perpetua Scenic Area(1.182 reviews) - Beautiful Park, nice trails State Parks • Scenic Drives
Great hikes and well marked trails. We spent the late afternoon here and hiked the discovery trail, very scenic through the forest area with glimpses of the ocean. It has a pretty good uphill climb until you get to the high point then it gradually comes back down. There are other trails that branch off and all signage clearly marks distance and direction. The visitor center had closed while we were on our hike (4pm), but had maps and other information if you visited when it was open. A sandwich board out front had some information on hours. The trails to the Devil’s Churn, Spouting Horn and Thor’s Well were very nicely paved and clearly marked. These trails had a few steps but were easy to hike.See more..
5.0Crater Lake Zipline(1.164 reviews) - Incredible tour! Sunday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks
This tour is absolutely incredible! Our guides, Avery and Ethan, were excellent! They were engaging and highly entertaining the entire tour. It was my first time zip-lining, and I was definitely nervous, especially about the faster, longer lines, but I had no reason to be. It was so much fun!! The zip-lines, rappels and bridges were all thrilling, and the panoramic views of the mountains and forest were beautiful. Even the bumpy, off-road drive at the beginning was fun! Highly recommend adding this to your Crater Lake adventures…you won’t regret it! See more..
This is great place to go on a clear day even if you don't want to hike. Great views even just from the parking lot. It was well worth the 2 hour and minute drive for me to get there. Multiple trails to hike. Free maps of park and I would get one because on some of the trails farther away from the parking lot I wasn't sure exactly I was at. It shows that you could ride your bike or ride horses on these trails but I wouldn't recommend it. On most the trails there are places you could stop and just sit and look/rest for a while if you wanted to. The parking fee is $5 for a day pass so well worth it even if just staying for an hour to sit and look. I know I will coming out here at least once I year from now on.See more..
We had a great time seeing the city with Jared. It was a fun experience and he made us feel comfortable both on the Segway physically, and in the area. He knew the city well and told us some fun facts about the different landmarks, etc. The only reason we didn’t give it five stars is because it wasn’t a history lesson, there were a handful of cool facts we learned but not tons. Still a good time, and I’d recommend it for someone vacationing in Portland as we were or if you live in the area and want to try something fun!See more..

5.0Indigo Creek Outfitters(926 reviews) - Best shuttle service ever! Sunday: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM River Rafting & Tubing • Boat Tours • Stand Up Paddleboarding • Kayaking & Canoeing • Day Trips

5.0A Great Oregon Wine Tour(913 reviews) - A Great Oregon Wine Tour worth the trip every year Sunday: 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM Wine Tours & Tastings • Day Trips
Just returned from our 3rd straight year of wine touring with A Great Oregon Wine Tour. Wayne and Camille’s knowledge of wines and history of Oregon enhances your tour. The tastings are very intimate and many times meeting the wine makers themselves. On recommendation by Wayne that we explore a different area this year we experienced Hood River. As always Wayne & Camille made this year even better than last year if that is even possible. The quality of wines we have experienced through A Great Oregon Wine Tour is impressive, many of which a membership is a must. Everything from the pick up, intimacy of each tasting, provided lunch and the recap of winery’s on our drive home is truly an experience you will come back for year after year. Thank you again Wayne & Camille for another memorable year of wine. Cheer’s See more..
5.0Hellgate Jetboat Excursions(908 reviews) - If you do nothing else, take a Jet Boat ride! Sunday: 8:00 AM - 8:30 PM Nature & Wildlife Tours • Speed Boats Tours
If you visit Grants Pass, Oregon, or if you are going to be passing through, take the time to go on a Jet Boat ride! You will not be disappointed. The tickets vary in price for length of ride and/or if you want to do the breakfast or lunch that goes along with the price. I definitely recommend the shorter one-hour ride for the elderly or small children who are unfamiliar with water etiquette or are afraid of the water. My recommendation as far as dressing is light and casual, because you are almost guaranteed to get soaking wet. Denims are a definite no-no on this boat ride, as they tend to stay wet and get heavy, the wetter they are. Wear light cotton pants or shorts are even better. The Captains here know these waters and are entertaining as well. Give them a generous tip, because you will not be disappointed in their rhetoric, stories, or boating maneuvers. Wearing makeup and having your hair done for this excursion is a definite waste of time ladies.See more..
5.0Shore Acres State Park(835 reviews) - Visit a beautiful garden and an spectacular view of the ocean Spent More than 3 hours State Parks

5.0Yachats coastline(816 reviews) - The action at the Devil's Onion Chopper Piers & Boardwalks
Yachats used to be my regular vacation spot on the Oregon Coast, but it got a little spendy so more recently we've stayed elsewhere. On this visit we made a day trip to Yachats, and I was reminded why I love it so: the very long sandy beach off the 804 Trail AND the amazing rock channels through which the water pounds and slams and smashes in proper "punch bowl" fashion, but in a somewhat more intimate setting than the stuff that gets signs along 101. We call our favorite feature the "Devil's Onion Chopper." To find it, take a stroll along the path and, just below the Fireside Inn (or maybe the Overleaf) and keep an ear out for the occasional BOOM! Make your way carefully to the rocks (don't get too close and watch your step!) and settle in to watch and listen. See more..

5.0Morrisons Rogue Wilderness Adventures(781 reviews) - AMAZING experience on every level!!!! Sunday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Multi-day Tours • River Rafting & Tubing • Fishing Charters & Tours • Hiking & Camping Tours • Day Trips
Our family of 7 went on the 3 day 2 night rafting trip with these guys and it was absolutely amazing!! Our guides Maynard, Mike, Dustin, Kevin and Soren were experienced, knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was safe, comfortable and having a great time. The food, the camp set up, the raft were all incredible, and as soon as the trip was over our kids were asking if we could turn around and do it again. We stayed the first and last night at Morrison's lodge and loved it. The cabins were spacious and great for our family, and oh my gosh the food at the lodge!!!! 5 star al the way!! I would highly recommend this outfit to anyone looking for an amazing experience with nature and incredible people!! Thank you for helping us create memories that will last a lifetime!!See more..
5.0Forktown Food Tours(658 reviews) - One of the most perfect food tours Sunday: Food Tours
After being on quite a few food tours this was the best ever. Heidi guided our limited group through downtown Portland for a variety of foods and sweets plus some local wine. Along with the food, Heidi gave us a good level of history of the city and area as well as a history of how the food scene has developed in Portland. Then there were the other suggestions for the rest of our time in Portland and she didn’t steer us wrong. The food was all amazing and portions were generous. Lots of hiking after this food tour to get ready for the next meal:)See more..
5.0Mount Hood(647 reviews) - Such a beautiful area Mountains • Ski & Snowboard Areas • Volcanos
5.0Eat Adventures Food Tours(641 reviews) - Great tour with Dylan Sunday: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM Walking Tours • Beer Tastings & Tours • Sightseeing Tours • Private Tours • Food Tours
We did the downtown food tour with Dylan. It ended up only being the two of us and we are excited to have incidentally ended with a private tour. Dylan was a great storyteller and told us tons of history about Portland. We are tons of amazing local food and left very full. I thought the tour was worth the money and I would definitely do it again. Highly recommend.See more..
5.0Backcountry Wine Tours(618 reviews) - The best way to experience Willamette Sunday: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM Wine Tours & Tastings
We spent two days with Backcountry Wine Tours and it was GREAT. Extremely thoughtful and well curated days that gave us exposure to a few fantastic wineries that were a bit off the beaten path. Highly recommend Jack and his crew of knowledgeable and super friendly drivers to take care of you for the day (or two or three)See more..

5.0Orange Torpedo Rafting Trips(579 reviews) - Fantastic Father/Son 3 Day Rogue River Rafting and Kayaking Trip! Sunday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM River Rafting & Tubing
Did the 3 day Rogue River rafting and kayaking trip with a large group of dads and high school aged boys. We had a fantastic experience all around, despite some very rainy and cold weather day 1. The Orange Torpedo guide staff could not have been more professional and knowledgable about the river. They're a fantastic and fun group to hang out with all the way from the seasoned vets to the college students. They made us feel comfortable both on and off the river.See more..

5.0Rogue Valley ZipLine Adventure(570 reviews) - Wonderful experience for first timers! Sunday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 AM River Rafting & Tubing • Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks • Wine Tours & Tastings
We had a wonderful experience with this zip line tour. The progressive lines (starting with shorter to longer lines) are the perfect way for anyone new to this experience. My 10yr old son had his first experience with zip lining and he really enjoyed it. Our guides, Amanda and John, were very patient, funny but not overly tacky in their humor, and kind in their instructions. They made everyone in our group (ages 10 - 75) feel welcome. They also didn't rush anyone which we were grateful for. It was an overall fun and pleasant experience and we would definitely recommend this to all who want to try zip lining.See more..
5.0Crater Lake(559 reviews) - Bucket List X2 Sunday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 2-3 hours Bodies of Water
We stayed (in a tent) at Crater Lake 45 years ago (in 1977) and finally got to return. It was a bucket list place to visit both times. On the first trip, we took the boat over to Wizard Island and climbed to the top. On this trip, we had a much shorter visit but got some great views of this truly stunning place.See more..
I read about The Lincoln City Glass Center on Trip Advisor and thought I'd check it out. Scheduling in advance online was really easy, and when I needed to change the time of my appointment I was able to do that online as well. The recommendation to come 15 minutes early to decide on the piece you'll have made and the colors you want it made out of is excellent advice. If you're like me and have trouble deciding on color combinations, you might want to come even earlier. Anya did an excellent job of explaining the glass-blowing process in general, and each step in making the paperweight I selected. Anya was gracious about me videoing the process. Although some may consider the cost of a glass-blown item to be expensive, this is an original piece of artwork that I got to participate in making...even if just through observation. I highly recommend the Lincoln City Glass Center. This definitely something I will do again.See more..
The beach here has a lot of cool sea caves, and if you time your visit to low tide you can go around the point. In general, on the Oregon coast you will have to pay a lot of attention to the tide charts. If you get tired of the crowds at Cannon Beach, this is a good alternative.See more..
5.0Oneonta Gorge(507 reviews) - Amazing rock structure right over your head! Hiking Trails • Geologic Formations
When we went the area was still closed off but we walked through the tunnel to see what we could. It was fun, there are not a lot of places where you can walk through a tunnel or have massive boulders right over your head, it felt a little death-defying. The area we could see was definitely worth the stop.See more..

5.0Evergreen Escapes Portland(451 reviews) - Columbia Gorge Waterfalls and Wine tour Sunday: 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM City Tours • Beer Tastings & Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours • Wine Tours & Tastings
This excursion was the highlight of our trip. We were deciding between an all wine tour and this tour and I am so glad we did this one. The sites and waterfalls were beautiful and finishing the day off with some wineries was perfect. We're from sunny Arizona and even with the rain we had a great time. Chris was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable about the area and accommodating to our group. The "snacks" they provided at the winery were a nice surprise and touch to personalize the experience. I am in the industry and don't generally do excursions, but I would highly recommend this one to get you out of the city and see parts of Portland you may not otherwise see on your own. See more..
Since it was my 9 year old's 1st time on a jet boat I just booked the half hour quick tour. Because of a booking change day of, they were able to reschedule us to an hour tour which I thought might be too long; It ended up being just right. The breaks in between the 360s and splashing, when we would learn things about the city, was much appreciated. Great value for the excursion fee. My second time and I dare say it was even more fun! FYI. They recommend layers but that doesn't help if you are soaked!! Haha. Maybe rock a poncho if you want to stay reasonably dry..we got SOAKED!! (sat in the back) Friendly staff. I do recommend for anyone with an adventurous spirit.See more..

We had an amazing full day trip down the Dechutes, with Jodi as our fun, safe and knowledgeable guide. Could not have had a better experience! The company is organized and top rate. Communication leading up to they rip was easy; the equipment was new; they provided us with helmets, which the other companies didn’t appear to do. Our lunch was great, and they went over the top to accommodate both my vegan husband and another gluten-free guest. Really nice! But best of all was the rafting, which was awesome and so beautiful. We went through ~ 15 Class 2/3 rapids, and one pretty terrifying but totally thrilling Class 4. Jodi skillfully lead us through them all, with deep knowledge and good humor. Such a great day for my 14- and 16-year olds and us!See more..

5.0Cellar Door Wine Tours(402 reviews) - Leave the planning and driving to the pros. Sunday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Wine Tours & Tastings
With over 500 wineries, planning a visit to Oregon wine country can be daunting... even if you think you know where you want to go. Take it from me, sometimes the best solution is to leave the planning and the driving to a pro. Our pro was Mark who organized an all-day tour (including lunch) that exceeded our expectations. We were introduced to some real hidden gems. Mark's knowledge of wine, geography, and local lore was invaluable and his sense of humor made our tour even more memorable. We highly recommend Cellar Door Wine tours.See more..
We were staying in Bandon during our Oregon Coast trip and made a visit to Cape Arago State Park. Prior to visiting the State Park, we had lunch at The Boat in Coos Bay (highly recommended). However, when we visited Shore Acres State Park, we paid the $5 Day Use.See more..

5.0Oregon Tour Co.(335 reviews) - Oregon Wine Tour is more than just wine Sunday: 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM Cultural Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours • Wine Tours & Tastings
When Pete picked us up he said, "This isn't a wine tasting, it's a wine experience." I wholeheartedly agree with this statement! After being picked up promptly from our hotel we were whisked away to three wineries and a tasting room. There was plenty of wine, but also a ton of regional information and history to be had along the way. I took away a new appreciation for wines in the region and my companion, who is new to wine, took away an appreciation for Oregon regional differences, wine tasting, and wine in general. I can't say enough good things about this experience! This is a great value for the time, wine, and information given. You need to take this tour!See more..

There were enough exciting rapids to keep us busy and enough downtime to enjoy the scenery. All in all a great trip! Thank you!
