Every time I passed this park, I thought of Paris. Turns out it was designed by Olmsted architects who modeled it on the Luxembourg Gardens. This is one of the most interesting sewer plants you will ever visit. That's right I said sewer plant. It's a state of the art water filtration system using nature prior to releasing the cleaned water back into the ecosystem. No smell. No waste water. You would not know it by walking around the water park. Great wild life. Bird watching. You will be amazed. The plant life has matured. Easy parking. No crowds. If you would like to spend a relaxing time in a well maintained garden this is the place for you. It has been developed and maintained by the Douglas County Master Gardeners for the benefit of the public. It has been gaining recognition by the visiting of RVers that stay in the park across the street. Many of them say they come to that park just to experience the garden. For a special treat visit the garden during the spring and summer on Tuesdays and watch the Master Gardeners at work. One of them will probably volunteer to give you a guided tour of the garden. My sister & I recently went to a luncheon & tour of the Thyme Gardens. It’s well-worth the drive. We started with a tour of the herb & flower gardens, which was very informative. We walked along a trail with creeks & woods. Be sure to wear good walking shoes. Had a multi-course lunch prepared fresh with edible flowers. Prepped & served by the owners & family. It took 3 hours total time including lunch. Highly recommend this place for a unique dining experience. Very peaceful & relaxing. Will go back in the future.See more..
