Ecola State Park requires paying a $5 Day Use Fee. We came on Tuesday 7/27 around 3 pm. We did not have any issues finding parking. In the parking lot is a machine for you to purchase the $5 ticket. Credit cards are accepted and the Pass is placed on your dash. You can walk around and even see the Tillamook Rock Lighthouse which sits on an island. We also drove to Indian Beach which is part of Ecola State Park.See more..
4.5Lithia Park(1.625 reviews) - A cool escape Parks
We have been coming to Ashland for the Shakespeare Festival for many years, and we always take a walk in the park at least once, sometimes going all the way through to the reservoir, or taking city streets and coming in to the park at the reservoir. It's also a quiet place to carry our take-out when we need some respite from crowds. In 1964 we camped in the park (there was a campground then) and walked through the park to attend the plays. Some times just sitting beside the creek is relief enough. Enjoy it!See more..
4.5Washington Park(1.556 reviews) - Why didn't we visit decades ago? This place is GREAT! Sunday: 5:00 AM - 10:00 PM Zoos • Parks • Gardens

5.0Cape Perpetua Scenic Area(1.182 reviews) - Beautiful Park, nice trails State Parks • Scenic Drives
Great hikes and well marked trails. We spent the late afternoon here and hiked the discovery trail, very scenic through the forest area with glimpses of the ocean. It has a pretty good uphill climb until you get to the high point then it gradually comes back down. There are other trails that branch off and all signage clearly marks distance and direction. The visitor center had closed while we were on our hike (4pm), but had maps and other information if you visited when it was open. A sandwich board out front had some information on hours. The trails to the Devil’s Churn, Spouting Horn and Thor’s Well were very nicely paved and clearly marked. These trails had a few steps but were easy to hike.See more..
5.0Crater Lake Zipline(1.164 reviews) - Incredible tour! Sunday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks
This tour is absolutely incredible! Our guides, Avery and Ethan, were excellent! They were engaging and highly entertaining the entire tour. It was my first time zip-lining, and I was definitely nervous, especially about the faster, longer lines, but I had no reason to be. It was so much fun!! The zip-lines, rappels and bridges were all thrilling, and the panoramic views of the mountains and forest were beautiful. Even the bumpy, off-road drive at the beginning was fun! Highly recommend adding this to your Crater Lake adventures…you won’t regret it! See more..
This is great place to go on a clear day even if you don't want to hike. Great views even just from the parking lot. It was well worth the 2 hour and minute drive for me to get there. Multiple trails to hike. Free maps of park and I would get one because on some of the trails farther away from the parking lot I wasn't sure exactly I was at. It shows that you could ride your bike or ride horses on these trails but I wouldn't recommend it. On most the trails there are places you could stop and just sit and look/rest for a while if you wanted to. The parking fee is $5 for a day pass so well worth it even if just staying for an hour to sit and look. I know I will coming out here at least once I year from now on.See more..
4.5Fort Stevens State Park(1.108 reviews) - Outstanding Oregon State park Sunday: 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM State Parks
This is a really beautiful park and a great camping experience. It's big; something like 4,300 acres with literally hundreds of campsites, a lake with picnic areas, hiking trails and beach access. Very well managed and maintained. Very quiet at night. They rent bikes, even though the website indicates the bike rentals are closed. Be warned; the bikes are old beaters but they'll get you there and back.See more..
Very interesting geological wonder at the end of a short road through a cute little area with a winery and some restaurants/coffee houses (?) - all closed due to wildfire smoke unfortunately. The gaping formation is thought to be a result of some sea caves collapsing. I think you used to be able to walk around in it, but it’s all fenced off from what I can see. You might be able to access it from the beach somewhere but we weren’t able to thoroughly explore due to the smoke and fog. Also could be dangerous if the tide is coming in. I think we caught it at low tide. It’s a beautiful area, with rocks and caves and water swishing and swirling around deep in the “bowl”! It’s a quick visit but may take up more time when the little shops are open or if you can hike around the area! Definitely something to see! See more..

what a great hike, about 3 miles, but the first part out of the parking lot was not paved, but the trail met up with the paved roadway, and it was amazing, steep in parts, but the views were breathtaking, or was that my out of shape body telling me otherwise. this only took about 2 hours, including time at the top for the rest of us to catch out limited breaths. a must do..See more..

4.5Oregon Caves National Monument and Preserve(594 reviews) - Great tour; definitely worth the effort to drive up to the cave Spent 2-3 hours National Parks • Caverns & Caves
ALERT: The Oregon Caves Chateau will be closed for rehabilitation throughout 2019 and 2020. Cave tours are still available late March through early November. The Oregon Caves is a place of adventure, wonder, and discovery. Join your guide and a small party of fellow cave explorers for a 90-minute tour. The route wends through narrow, twisting passages with ceilings as low as 45 inches! See strangely beautiful of stalactites, stalagmites, and other mysterious calcite flowstones. The route is moderately strenuous and not recommended for people with breathing, heart, knee or back issues. Children must be 42” tall or taller, no exceptions. The cave is 44 degrees year round. Tours are popular in the summer. Arrive early to avoid long waits or closures. Reservations are available at Recreation.gov. Cave tours offered late March to early November. There are a few wonderful trails to explore on the surface.See more..
5.0Rogue Valley ZipLine Adventure(570 reviews) - Wonderful experience for first timers! Sunday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 AM River Rafting & Tubing • Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks • Wine Tours & Tastings
We had a wonderful experience with this zip line tour. The progressive lines (starting with shorter to longer lines) are the perfect way for anyone new to this experience. My 10yr old son had his first experience with zip lining and he really enjoyed it. Our guides, Amanda and John, were very patient, funny but not overly tacky in their humor, and kind in their instructions. They made everyone in our group (ages 10 - 75) feel welcome. They also didn't rush anyone which we were grateful for. It was an overall fun and pleasant experience and we would definitely recommend this to all who want to try zip lining.See more..

The beach here has a lot of cool sea caves, and if you time your visit to low tide you can go around the point. In general, on the Oregon coast you will have to pay a lot of attention to the tide charts. If you get tired of the crowds at Cannon Beach, this is a good alternative.See more..
The John Day Fossil Beds National Monument comprises three geographical separate units - The Sheeprock unit has the monument Visitor Center and the Thomas Condon Paleontology Center (with a working fossil research lab). The Painted Hills unit is the most popular due to the colorfully striped hills. The Clarno unit appears to be the smallest unit. All three units have nice hiking trails with colorful rock formations. The Blue Basin Trail is the longest (and the most strenuous) hike. The Picture Gorge scenic drive in the Sheeprock unit should not be missed. I spent two days visiting the three units while staying overnight in Mitchell. The National Monument is absolutely enjoyable though the three units are not contiguous therefore requiring some driving effort. But the rewards are worth the effort.See more..
5.0Pumpkin Ridge Zip Tour(408 reviews) - Best Birthday gift I could have given Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks
I bought this as a birthday gift for my husband, Kevin. I was quite nervous as I have a fear of heights. I would totally recommend Pumpkin Ridge Zip Tour, It was fun and thrilling and yet I felt safe and completely at ease.See more..

We were staying in Bandon during our Oregon Coast trip and made a visit to Cape Arago State Park. Prior to visiting the State Park, we had lunch at The Boat in Coos Bay (highly recommended). However, when we visited Shore Acres State Park, we paid the $5 Day Use.See more..

The wave pool and slides are lots of fun. The price of the water park is reasonable as well and worth going for the day. I love the fact that there is this inside water park especially in Oregon where we like to vacation and also where it rains all the time. The only thing that I didn't like were the new cabanas that are rented out. They are very much in the way and makes things feel claustrophobic instead of being open like it used to be.See more..

Driving the Columbia River Gorge historic highway 30 and stopped to view the falls. Parking was tough as it was busy, but someone was leaving as we drive in so we were lucky. There are picnic areas, restrooms, a nature trail as well as the trail to the falls. The trail to the falls is about .5 miles each direction and is fairly easy to hike. The falls are beautiful and can be seen from the bridge on the trail, but are only fully viewed from the overlook stop a little further up the trail. It was busy the day we visited and people were climbing rocks and wading in the water at the base of the falls but we were able to get to the overlook and enjoy the site.See more..

I went in October…it was crisp fall-like weather. Stayed in a yurt. Great experience for my disabled family. Loved it, so much that I’m Moving to joseph. In just over a week. The yurt was warm, clean and suitable for at least six people. The heater and air purifier were a bonus, and they worked fine. The rangers were knowledgeable and courteous, allowed me to check in a few hours early. Points for that! Next day the deer came to investigate enforce.. they came so close begging for food they nuzzled my wife’s hand and sons arm. incredible. My son was enthralled and amazed. He too was hooked. Bathrooms were clean. Shower was sufficient. It’s a campground shower, So, it had its detractors. But was clean and hot. Definitely going back. Great time is the off season. Been there in the summer months. Not a spot, site or yurt to be had. Will ever go in peak season again.See more..

4.5Drake Park(216 reviews) - Pleasant riverside park Spent < 1 hour Parks
While on a visit to Bend in June, I took a leisurely walk in Drake Park on a weekday afternoon. The neatly maintained walkways and the beautiful Mirror Pond made for a pleasant afternoon. The bridge crossing the pedestrian Deschutes River is lovely. There was plenty of free parking on the street. Drake Park is a good community park to visit.See more..

We made a quick stop here to stretch our legs and to enjoy the scenery on a recent visit to the Portland area. Lovely greenery everywhere and it smells fantastic. Makes me wonder how often cars get broken into here.See more..
Every time I passed this park, I thought of Paris. Turns out it was designed by Olmsted architects who modeled it on the Luxembourg Gardens. I went yesterday June 12, 2021 and it was a great place. All I saw were family's with kids having picnic's, other's riding bikes and people walking there dogs. There was nothing dangerous about this park. No tents on the trails, no sketchy people, no homeless people hanging around, like someone wrote a few months ago. I was by myself and felt perfectly safe. You don't need to bring a weapon-nothing dangerous. If you can bring your bike, it's a great place to go bike riding lots of trails and the bike trails connect with the riverfront park via a bridge.See more..
My daughter got married there and it was amazing! It was a beautiful day and the facilities were incredibly nice (rustic). These are just a few of the great photos we got that day. The price was very reasonable and the park rangers helped us a lot. We booked the area for Friday, Saturday and Sunday so we had plenty of time. And we paid the parking fee for everyone (ranger collected it at the end of the evening). We also used a party trolley so people didn't have to drive if they didn't want to. Good time had by all!See more..
4.5Hendricks Park(187 reviews) - Still the premier park in Eugene for gardeners and horticulturalists Parks
A hillside park which has been lovingly developed over many years. Its plant collection is perhaps the most extensive in the state. There are rhododendrons there I have not seen anywhere else. The only garden that compares to this I have seen is the gardens at Broddick Castle on Mull in Scotland. We visited Hendricks in January and still found several plants blooming. There are a maze of trails covering two hillsides. The park is loved by both locals and visitors. You also get a good workout on the many trails.See more..
4.5Riverside Park(176 reviews) - Peaceful Stop For Family Parks
Riverside Park drew us as we were looking for a place to take our grandchild just to unwind a little bit. Highlights included the ducks and geese that roamed freely through out the park (but mainly along the river). One needs to keep a close eye on smaller ones as access to the water might draw them too close for comfort for them. Lots of equipment for them to climb on so it will keep their attention for a longer time span.See more..

4.5Tumalo State Park(172 reviews) - A wonderful park to hike Sunday: State Parks
This is an absolutely lovely state park located in the city of Bend, and a great place to spend the day hiking! It was only $5 to park for the day which I thought was very reasonable! I spent about two hours at this park, but you could easily spend the whole day! I choose one hike, the Canyon Loop Trail. I'd say it was a moderate level hike, and very scenic along the river, tall rocks and forest. I saw an otter and many small birds. It was not too crowded on the Saturday I visited. There is very helpful signage along the trail so you do not get lost. It was chilly but sunny and a perfect day to hike.See more..

5.0Tree to Tree Adventure Park(132 reviews) - Amazing, exhilarating fun! Sunday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks
I was worried that it would be too hard for my middle aged body or too scary for my youngest, 9 yr old girl. It was challenging in the most fun way!! I was elated to be in the trees, felt completely safe the whole time, but still in awe at being so high in the trees! My 14, 12 and 9 yr old each LOVED their time here so much! My 9 yr old was able to be independent, even 30 ft in the air! The only difficulty was for my very fit, but very tall, 6' 4" husband!! Some of the course was hard for him because he was too tall for the way the safety measures are set up. He still enjoyed himself very much, but stopped before the rest of us. It costs $55 per person for 3 hours, I wish we'd had 1 more hour. However, it is definitely worth the money!See more..

I love the historical parts of this Butte. I love seeing the mansion, and the drive up, getting out for the views... and I love the park nearby as it has interesting playground equipment which is a rarity these days. There is a whale the kids can climb on and inside of... and it is painted pretty colors. I love the swings and the interesting little log cabin. The trails in the park were amazing to walk and our children used their scooters and skateboards for nice long sections. The river next to the park is of course gorgeous.See more..
