    The Bonnevile Dam (including the Sturgeon Viewing Pond and Interpretive Center) is on I-84 between Hood River and Portland. It has really cool exhibits on salmon, sturgeon, and hydroelectric power. It's in a beautiful location, with picnic areas. Best of all, parking, the exhibits, everything is free. My husband and I stopped by chance on our way to see the falls, and it was great! There were a number of tour busses there (it was a weekend), but plenty of room for everyone. See more..
