    - Beautiful views!

We were staying in Astoria for 3 nights and each day visited our friends in Ocean Park, WA so you either take the Wahkiakum County Ferry in Westport which is 30 minutes east of Astoria or you drive across the bridge. Personally I love the bridge as it is a 55 mph zone so basically just like a Highway. The bridge was built in 1966 and is the longest continuous truss bridge in North America. The views are spectacular and the passing ships are amazing. Highly recommend not only the bridge, but take some time to park near the bridge and watch the ships travel in and out of the Columbia River. See more..

I guess it's kind of an unfair thing is that I love Bridges it's almost all of them get five stars. This one's no exception. I'm told it was the predecessor to the Golden Gate. And just for those people out there then don't know any better oh, it is not a Gothic style bridge is an art deco-style Bridge. Beautiful nonetheless See more..

We heard about the history of this bridge so decided to cross it for fun. The views were worth the very short trip, and we can say we crossed it. The person manning the toll booth must be used to people crossing the bridge and turning around and coming back because he didn't seem at all surprise when we returned so soon. See more..

We were on a long road trip and came out this direction to ride our mountain bikes on the North Fork Trail and found this cool feature by chance! It was cool to drive our Truck and Camper on a covered bridge. Nice open parking area at both end to wait for one way traffic. At the far end there is access to the trail and a covered picnic area too. We were all by ourselves and were able to take a video crossing the bridge. Pretty cool when you stumble on things like this and you are not expectign them - the benefits of wandering! See more..

Scio, Oregon is called the Covered Bridge Capitol of America. There are six bridges within easy driving distance with the route marked with signs. The wet winter and spring led to building covered bridges in the late 1800's. It's a beautiful route to take on a motorcycle. See more..

We accidentally found this out of the way gem while exploring Highway 140. It's the oldest (1881) and shortest (39') in Oregon and adjacent to a privately maintained memorial park, which we didn't visit. It' s well worth the few extra miles if you appreciate covered bridges. See more..

  17. 4.5 Antelope Creek Bridge (6 reviews)
    - Nice place to visit.
    Sunday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Bridges
    Antelope Creek Bridge image
Antelope Creek Bridge ( Little Butte Creek) This 58 ft queen post truss bridge originally spanned Antelope Creek and was built in 1922. Was listed on the national register in 1979. In August 1987, the structure was loaded onto a makeshift trailer and volunteers hauled it to the city of Eagle Point, OR. When the bridge was rebuilt at the new site, arched openings were cut into each side so school children could be watched as they crossed the span. This alteration caused the bridge to be removed from the National Register of Historic Places. Since then, the bridge has been re-sided in a fashion that represents the original design. Now only ribbon openings appear under the eves. See more..

  20. 4.5 Sandy Creek Bridge (4 reviews)
    - Nice covered bridge and small park

    Sandy Creek Bridge image
Covered bridge 14 of 54 A beautiful drive off the 5 Fwy in Roseburg west on hwy 42 (see pics), to it's location not far from the coast. Sadly, I wasnt able to find much history or information on this covered bridge. Sandy Creek Covered Bridge (aka Remote Covered Bridge), is located near the community of Remote, Oregon (supposedly named for being in the middle of nowhere), and was part of Hwy 42 until a concrete bridge was built in 1949. Unique bridge features include the large side openings, and two crossed Howe truss members on each chord, which is rare for a short covered bridge. Built in 1921 over Sandy Creek by contractor A.Guthrie & Co. at a cost of $8,100. It is only 60 ft. long, and was refurbished in 1982, and a small county park was added.. See more..

You are able to travel across the bridge as it is still used by locals. There is parking along the roadside allowing you to get out and explore the bridge and the river area. Definitely one of the best in Oregon and worth a visit. See more..
  22. 4.5 Stayton–Jordan Bridge (3 reviews)
    - Stayton Jordan Bridge is intriguing.

    Stayton–Jordan Bridge image
The Stayton Jordan Covered Bridge is amazing. I had come out to Stayton on a reconnaissance mission after studying photos on the internet of the covered bridge. The bridge is located in a very nice park that has nice restrooms and the park is inhabited by a beautiful red headed woodpecker. I walked across the covered bridge, it was a bucket list duty to perform and snapped some pictures. As mentioned before by another writer, it is a great place for a picnic, a wedding, special occasion, and it would have been a perfect place to photograph this one model, nearly six foot tall blonde woman, in a pin striped business suit. There is something about a woman in a business suit that drives me wild! A woman in a business suit is my idea of art! It would be so great. Like the line in a movie, "Here I am, a man of all this vision and the rest of the world wears bi-focals" I highly recommend you visit the Stayton-Jordan Bridge. See more..
