    Cape Perpetua Scenic Area image
Great hikes and well marked trails. We spent the late afternoon here and hiked the discovery trail, very scenic through the forest area with glimpses of the ocean. It has a pretty good uphill climb until you get to the high point then it gradually comes back down. There are other trails that branch off and all signage clearly marks distance and direction. The visitor center had closed while we were on our hike (4pm), but had maps and other information if you visited when it was open. A sandwich board out front had some information on hours. The trails to the Devil’s Churn, Spouting Horn and Thor’s Well were very nicely paved and clearly marked. These trails had a few steps but were easy to hike. See more..

Well worth the trip and well worth walking a least to the bridge lookout if you can. We went higher for views down which were pretty spectacular. Stunningly pretty place with toilets, restaurant and gift shop at the bottom. Free to see and a must on my opinion if you’re in the area. See more..

  9. 5.0 Rattlesnake Grade (6 reviews)
    - Better than Hell's Canyon Overlook!

    Rattlesnake Grade image
Awesome views with rich history. The history part starts at the Old Chief Joseph Gravesite in Joseph. The Rattlesnake Grade starts at Enterprise, OR, on Hwy 3. Driving miles north will take you to the Joseph Canyon Viewpoint which overlooks Joseph Canyon where Chief Joseph, leader of the Nez Perce tribe, was born in a cave on the east side of Joseph Creek. OR Hwy 3 joins with WA 129 which winds through the Blue Mts before Anatone. The best views are here and where the Grande Ronde intersects WA 129. After Anatone, you will pass Asotin, where you will find Nez Perce petroglyphs if you drive to Buffalo Eddy, 18 miles south on the Snake River Rd. See more..

    Merriam Point image
We drove 2 hours from Bend so we entered Crater Lake via the North Entrance. As such, Merriam Point was the first spot we pulled into to start our Rim Drive. We visited Crater Lake on 2 days, July 20 and 23. For our 1st views of Crater Lake, Merriam Point did not disappoint. We started early the first day and got to the Park at around 6:30 am. It was so nice and quiet. See more..
  11. 4.5 Steens Mountain Loop (3 reviews)
    - Breathtaking
Spent More than 3 hours Scenic Drives
It'd been years since we'd visited Steens and best of all, nothing has changed. Scenery is stunning, especially dramatic Kiger Gorge Lookout, then East Rim Overlook, overlooking Alvord Desert and The loop is about 60 miles, ascends to 9600 feet, and should not be missed. Allow 3 or more hours to enjoy the views and solitude. See more..
