Fortuitous GPS glitch while seeking directions from Florence to Cresswell led us by this impressive winery. We were ready to stretch our legs, so we decided to stop in, and stayed for dinner in their restaurant. The founder and current owners (the King Family) have developed, improved and maintained a marvelous vineyard and winery, well worth visiting if anywhere in the Eugene area. We had a wonderful bottle of Tempranillo during our dinner. We plan to make a special trip from Southern Oregon to visit this place again with friends. See more..

    - Enjoyed Iberian varietals under the sun with a beautiful view of green hills beyond vines
    Sunday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Wineries & Vineyards
    Abacela image
Abacela is a world-class, multi-award winning winery and viticulture success story. Founders Earl and Hilda Jones first planted in 1995 they had no way of knowing what the outcome would be. Abacela was an experiment they hoped would answer a question that had puzzled them for years: Why doesn't America produce any fine varietal Tempranillo wine? Earl and Hilda probably weren't the first enophiles to wonder why the great grape of Spain's famous Rioja wines was mysteriously absent from American fine wine. However they were the first to approach the question with scientific rigor, form a hypothesis and then devote their lives to testing it. Abacela is the result of one ordinary family's curiosity and determination that transformed their lives, built one of Oregon's best-loved wineries and influenced winegrowing not only in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest, but across America. Visit our Vine & Wine Center and taste our delicious wines! No outside food or drink is allowed, thank you. See more..

    Sunday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Wineries & Vineyards
    Brooks Wine image
We visited Brooks in 2017 and fell in love with the story and wines. We visited again in early October and liked this place even more. We had the wonderful fortune of being served by the daughter of the previous owner that sold the vineyard to Brooks. The two families are so intertwined and you can feel it in her voice as she talks about the history and the wines. It's this passion that made us love the place during our last visit. Brooks added a new feature in 2018. They have a chef on staff. You can order restaurant quality food and pair it with your wines. The food was so good especially the Fall Squash soup. We joined Brooks wine club this time around. I look forward to getting their fantastic wines year round back here in Texas. Here are the six wineries we visited and our ranking: 1. Brooks 2. Beaux Freres 3. Shea 4. Roco 5. Trisaetum 6. Stoller See more..

    - The wines and “Brie” were phenomenal
    Sunday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Wineries & Vineyards
    The Four Graces Winery image
We showed up without a reservation. My mom and our two dogs… I have always loved these wines and served them at my restaurant in Savannah, GA. Brie…. With a welcoming smile… said she would be happy to accommodate us and out us in some lovely adirondacks under a tree. It was quaint and picture perfect. She brought us water and our first wine… along with a water bowl for the pooches. Each time she came over, she gave the dogs little sticks to calm one’s nerves as he is a bit anxious. She sat down in the grass and told us about the wines… all the while having other customers that she handled. She never made us feel rushed, answered all our questions, and she was an UTTER delight and just so KIND and welcoming. The wines… as I expected… we’re amazing, but with her lovely personality and asístanse, it was the highlight of our “mother/daughter/two dog trip across the states”. Th k you !!! See more..

Our daughter is named Lily and among her many, incredible attributes, she shares our love of wine. See more..

  23. 4.5 Reustle Prayer Rock Vineyards (99 reviews)
    - Owner Welcomed Us In at Closing
    Sunday: Wineries & Vineyards
    Reustle Prayer Rock Vineyards image
This is a great family owned winery on about 200 acres new Umpqua, OR. They grow all of the grapes for their wine on this property - no mixing in or blends from other vineyards. We showed up right before closing and it is a little drive in through the rolling estate to get to the tasting room. By the time we got parked and in it was closing time - that did not bother the owner who had an employee guide us back into a private tasting alcove which is built into the side of the hill. I think they call it the Tasting Cave and it was a cool escape from the 90° outside heat - quite unique. We tasted 2 reds and 2 whites and ended up purchasing 3 bottles of white wine - one thing that all of the wines had in common - they were very, very smooth. We had a great time and are thinking about joining the wine club to receive shipments throughout the year. See more..

    Adelsheim Vineyard image
We enjoyed our wine tasting tremendously. Jessica was a fountain of information on grapes, soils, avas and roses at end of vine rows! She obviously loves her industry and work. Overcast day, offered us blankets if needed. Bottle prices ranged from $28 to $100 plus, lots of choice. As to vaccine, my only irritant was how many texts and email reminders for appt and need for VAX card and ID. Can’t miss that it is required. I recommend this wine tasting for anyone interested in learning about wine making in Willamette Valley. We were not rushed, but about 90 minutes. Could hear other presenters and lots of laughter and enjoyment. We bought 2 bottles which waived our tasting fee. See more..

We learned so much about the entire process as well as gained an appreciation for the family who owns the winery and gives so much back to make the world better. Our trip was both memorable and meaningful, We visited six wineries in the area during this trip and Wonderlea was the only one where all of us bought bottles of wine for later. The view was stunning and the hospitality was heartwarming. See more..
