This was our first visit to the Portland area, and my sons wanted to play golf as part of our vacation. One son brought his clubs and we needed to rent two sets. The clubs ended up being Taylor Made M4's- a very nice set. Apparently the clubs don't make the golfer because I didn't shoot that well, but the course was in great shape and the people were friendly. A bad day at golf is..........See more..

I didn't have a love relationship with my current driver. Went to Redtail and worked with the manager Rob. LOVED HIM! The experience was great and he was awesome. Fitted me with a new driver that I love and he was very helpful and very kind. Explained everything to me and discussed the different clubs I tried. Decided to go back and trade in my old clubs for new irons. Highly recommend him!See more..

4.0Cougar Canyon Golf Course(11 reviews) - Scenic and Hilly - what great views ! Spent More than 3 hours Golf Courses
If you enjoy pure golf, clean air, natural wildlife and the sound of birds singing instead of the freeway noise, this is the place for you! Although it is just 2 miles from exit 108 on I-5, you’ll feel a million miles away! It is special as much for what it doesn’t have – like homes, adjoining freeways or exorbitant green fees – as for what it has - Fantastic golf and scenic views!See more..
Stayed first weekend August 2022. Great RV Park with nice spaces, especially for big rigs! Loved the golf course with nice greens. The course has lots of interesting holes and challenges. 3.5Quail Valley Golf Course(7 reviews) - Countryside golf at its best !! Sunday: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM Golf Courses Hi gang, In search for yet another Oregon golf course to play I visited Quail Valley in sunny Banks, Or. I paid $50 w/cart and played solo. Yardage guide is complimentary and helpful. Still I lost 4 golf balls into the water that I didn’t know was as close as it was..... Greens were in fantastic shape, putting green condition was one of the best practice green I’ve seen in years !! Kudos. The course played challenging not knowing what lied over the hill or beyond the trees on the corner, etc. Surprise !! Maint was buzzing around, sometimes unaware of golfers playing thru. Interesting layout of doglegs, water hazards and oh yeah.....wind. Go play Quail Valley, bring some extra balls, don’t be afraid to “massage” your scorecard for your first several rounds, it’s fun to play. Beautiful farms, fields and farm buildings all around. 4.5Big River Golf Course(3 reviews) - Cold day, warm reception Spent More than 3 hours Golf Courses
I anticipated sitting around waiting for my wife while she was working in Umatilla for the day. Looking online for something to do, I saw there was a golf course and threw in my clubs. Dropped off my wife and headed to the course. It was cloudy with temps in the 40s, OK low 40s. Gunner set me up with a cart and I was off. I survived the gauntlet (1st 3 holes are par 3s) at just 2 over. Course was in good shape for November. Would like to come back and give it a shot during warmer weather.See more..

4.0Willow Run Golf Course(2 reviews) - Golf for those who want fun not pressure Spent 2-3 hours Golf Courses Looking for a nearby golf course, I found this little gem just outside the city limits of Boardman, Oregon. The 18-hole course is flat, easily walkable, and for being in the middle of the country, very well maintained. This executive course is perfect for getting in that practice round. The people running it are friendly and accommodating and it's casual enough that you don't have to worry if you've forgotten to pack a collared shirt. There is nothing expected here except perhaps a good attitude. Lovely course. lovely people. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.See more..
4.5Alpine Meadows Golf Course(2 reviews) - Nine challenging holes Spent More than 3 hours Golf Courses This local course offers a lot for only 9 holes. 3.5Pendleton Country Club(2 reviews) - Great place to play! Spent More than 3 hours Golf Courses
Not many people on the course, mostly senior groups. My cart worked fine, but was definitely older. Now the course was in good condition. The greens were lightning fast, and in mostly good condition. These were probably the 2nd fastest greens I've ever played on and they had some pins in some very tough spots to putt close to. I came down to play Wildhorse, but it was too busy and I would have to wait an hour. I played my round here in a little over 3 hrs. The people that own Wildhorse own this place also now. It will be interesting to see what they do with it. It has plenty of potential. Hopefully, new carts are high on the list, they keep those rocket fast greens. Additionally, the greens were not too firm. They would slow the ball the down, but it took a well placed shot to hold it on the green. The clubhouse is big. Looks like it came out of the 60s and was probably a booming place back in the day.See more..
4.0Buffalo Peak Golf Course(1 review) - Beautiful course with an amazing view of the valley Spent More than 3 hours Golf Courses
If your ball goes in the rough you had might as well just drop another one! Otherwise the pace of play can get horrendous! The views are unbeatable! I would advise getting out as early as possible as the trade winds arrive in the early afternoon. It is a links style course so be ready for plenty of awkward lies.See more..
4.0Milton-Freewater Golf Course(1 review) - Milton Freewater Golf Course Golf Courses Hi gang, This review is of the golf course only. Friendly staff, cute layout, interesting usage of terrain. The front nine is your basic Valley course but the fun begins when you drive up some 300 yds up the cart path to the top of the hill for the back 9. Challenging holes, blind shots, forced Carrie’s and a million $$ view like you’ve never seen !!! Most notable hole is #17. The tee box is near 5he turnaround of anther hole. #17 plays 122 yds and is practically straight down !!! There’s a postage stamp green. I used a 60 deg lob wedge and ended up 10 ft away. My pitch mark was 8 inches from where my ball stopped. They used old, gas carts that sound like they’re not gonna make but they do. Friendly greenskeepers and say hi to Chuck. Tell him “Semper Paratus” a Latin phrase every Coast Guard member knows. Definitely play here so you won’t miss a memorable little community golf course. RichSee more..
4.0Woodburn Estates And Golf(1 review) - Fun course in a Retirement Community. Spent More than 3 hours Golf Courses Hi gang, Got the opportunity to play Woodburn Estates and Golf course in Woodburn, Oregon. The Pro shop staff was first class and the check-in was friendly and accommodating. Was paired up with members who graciously gave me course playing recommendations for a pleasant outing. It took me 3-4 holes to get comfortable, but after I settled down and interacted more with my playing partners did the party really begin. What more can you ask than to have a nice golf course to play, no one in front of you, great company and occasionally hit a good shot ?? Golf heaven !! Thanks to Jason (Golf Pro) for making me feel welcome to WE&G. The course is laid out thru the retirement community. Flat, easy to walk and fortunately I didn’t meet and of the homeowners “fore” the wrong reason. Greens were heavily sanded so 3-putts were out. I put all kinds of magic with my short game to spin the ball but alas, the greens had a different agenda in mind. Give ‘em 2-3 wks and they’ll be back to normal. Give the pro shop a call to see if you can get on, I guarantee you’ll meet the nicest people here at Woodburn Estates and Golf.See more..
3.0Illinois Valley Golf Club(1 review) - On the comeback trail..... Spent More than 3 hours Golf Courses Hi gang, I’ve been reading about the good time folks are having playing here so I stopped in. For the last several years the course was maintained by volunteers but had fallen further behind. They asked a former pro to come back and fix it up. A lot of work is now going back into the course, but it will take several more months to bring back to it’s old glory. The pro welcomed me to check out the course. Fairways were in decent shape, greens were healing. The peripheral areas are shaggy and cart paths are gravel at best. It’s a bit out of the way between Crescent City, Ca and Grants Pass Or. If you get a chance drop by and play it. Say hello to Rex, the old pro brought back to the course. He’s working hard on a grand plan to make it shine. Kudos to the greenskeepers who are working hard. 5.0Pine Ridge Golf Course(1 review) - Pine Ridge will be on my list !!! Golf Courses Hi gang, This is a must play if you’re in the Eugene/Springfield area of Oregon. Check-in was swift and friendly. Didn’t use the range or putting green but chipped instead. Joined a twosome (members) who gratefully showed me around the course. The (newer) front nine is hilly with enuff trees to navigate you won’t be lonely. I was given a yardage guide and it helped immensely. Course knowledge is a must and more rounds here will only get easier. The (original) back nine is open, self-explanatory and in great shape. I was warned how undulating the greens are and if you don’t get to the correct level, you’ll be chipping again.... I paid $60 (Sr w/power cart) and compared to my home course this course this in great condition. There is some residual healing of the greens following the springtime sanding/plugging but they putted well. By all means play here !! RichSee more..
