Lithia Park, Oregon, United States

A cool escape

We have been coming to Ashland for the Shakespeare Festival for many years, and we always take a walk in the park at least once, sometimes going all the way through to the reservoir, or taking city streets and coming in to the park at the reservoir. It's also a quiet place to carry our take-out when we need some respite from crowds. In 1964 we camped in the park (there was a campground then) and walked through the park to attend the plays. Some times just sitting beside the creek is relief enough. Enjoy it!

    Great Outdoor Park.
Beautiful manicured park. I enjoy reading the signs referencing the various imported trees. Lithia creek passes through the park and has two swimming locations. Live performing artists often entertain in the park. The park has two duck ponds.

Cello music in the park and great walking trails
We were fortunate to come to the park on a Saturday morning and hear an impromptu cello concert by Daniel Sperry. It was magical to sit under the trees and enjoy the beautiful music. The park has some wonderful paths along the creek. It was a hot day and children were playing In the water. Lovely.
