We used liberty state park to access the Statue city cruises' ferry to the Statue of Liberty's, Liberty Island. GPS. Gets you to the state park just fine, but once in the park, it leads you to the visitor center, which opened at 8:00 a.m., luckily for us. The young man was frei fly and helpful. He pointed us in the right direction. The state park is huge and we easily could have missed out 9:00 a.m. ferry traversing the long and plentiful roads of the park. If you are going for a scheduled ferry, arrive early to figure out where to go. Liberty State Park was beautiful and had lots of great views of New York and Lady Liberty. See more..

    - Worth the trip!
Thursday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Speciality Museums • History Museums
Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum image
Naval Air Station Wildwood Foundation is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to restore Hangar #1 at the Cape May Airport, Cape May County, New Jersey, into an aircraft museum honoring the Navy airmen who died while training during World War II. Hangar # 1 was listed onto the National Register of Historic Places in September of 1997. Naval Air station (NAS) Wildwood was commissioned on April 1, 1943. The site served as an active dive-bomber squadron training facility from 1943 to 1945. Aircraft stationed at NAS Wildwood included TBM Avengers, Douglas Dauntlesses, Vought Corsairs and Curtiss Helldivers. Forty-two airmen perished while training at NAS Wildwood during World War II. In June 1997, NASW Foundation purchased Hangar #1 at the Cape May Airport. The 92,000 square-foot all-wooden structure was in a state of disrepair and required extensive renovation. Under the stewardship of NASW Foundation, the hangar was listed on the New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places at the National Significance Level. NAS Wildwood Aviation Museum now boasts over 26 aircraft displays as well as exhibits of military memorabilia, engines, photographs and more. Additionally, the Franklin Institute of Philadelphia has provided NAS Wildwood with a wealth of interactive exhibits that allow visitors to discover the science of flight. The museum also features a library, food vending area as well as a recently expanded gift shop. In its role as a community resource, NAS Wildwood Aviation Museum regularly hosts activities including fly-ins, aviation festivals, big band concerts, swing dances, veterans’ ceremonies, historical lectures, school field trips and senior tours. 19. 4.5 Ocean City Beach (938 reviews)
    - Enjoyable time at the beach
    Neighborhoods
    Ocean City Beach image
I had never been to Ocean City, NJ before. We arrived about 10 am and we were happy to find parking lots right next to the beach where for $20 we could park all day. We then walked down the boardwalk to what looked like a good spot on the beach. We paid for a day pass and got down to relaxing. We rented an umbrella and 2 beach chairs for $20 which the guy set up for us. The day was very relaxing. The beach got busy but never to the point of being crowded. The water was chilly and the life guards were very attentive. There were plenty of bathrooms available on the boardwalk which were clean. The boardwalk was very clean and enjoyable. Almost everyone followed the rules for wearing masks when supposed to, so it was safe too. I didn’t realize the beach was a “dry” beach. That undoubtedly contributed to the family friendly atmosphere of the area. Overall, I highly recommend this beach town. Safe, clean, organized, enjoyable and relaxing. See more..
  20. 4.0 Jenkinson's Boardwalk (873 reviews)
    - wristband day in July
    Piers & Boardwalks
    Jenkinson's Boardwalk image
Despite an expected heat index of 104, I brought my 10 yr old son here at the start of a Tuesday wristband day. Parking was easy across the street for $2.25/hr. I paid $9 up front and it was plenty, the main lot at the amusement park is $15 and then 1 block down is $10. They should expedite selling wristbands, as all the employees are lounging in the rides because nobody has a wristband for the first 15 minutes. There is almost no shade here, expect kids to run around without masks and parents to either wear them around their chins or not at all. There was some people trying to enforce masks at times. We wore ours unless drinking water in between rides. The lines were short, despite some ride cleaning in between, we never waited very long. We felt pretty comfortable for our Covid safety based on the crowd size. We went out to the boardwalk and found 2 places that had Dole Whip's in different flavors and would consider returning for other attractions. See more..
  21. 4.5 Turtle Back Zoo (862 reviews)
    - Great zoo
    Thursday: 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM Zoos
    Turtle Back Zoo image
The best part of this zoo is that most of the animals are very active, not just sleeping all day. We saw giraffes walking around, monkeys swinging, a cougar jumped down from a high rock then let out a roar. The black bear walked back and forth right in front of the glass. The penguins walked and swam. We also got to pet stingrays. We spent about 3 hours and covered pretty much the whole zoo. There is food available for purchase and plenty of picnic tables if you bring your own. Bathrooms were clean. There is also a train ride that runs parallel to the reservoir next door. It takes about 10 minutes and it’s free (we went on twice). Parking is free. See more..

    Prudential Center image
Despite being in the nosebleed section, I have zero complaints. I had read all the information emailed to me prior to the show so getting through security & ticket scan went very quickly. Location information is relatively clear although I did get momentarily confused at the top of the escalator for the 200 sections. The usher could have been a bit clearer on where my seat was but I did find it and the show was great. Props to sound & lighting crews. See more..

Thursday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Beaches
    Sunset Beach image
Nestled on the Cape May Peninsula, this underrated beach is famous for its spectacular sunsets. While the pebbly beach isn’t the most comfortable for walking, beachcombers love sieving through the sand to seek out Cape May “diamonds”—tiny pieces of quartz crystals that wash up on the shore. During low tide, you can spot the World War I SS Atlantus ship that ran aground almost a hundred years ago. If you’re lucky, you might be able to spot migratory whales between May and December; or join a sightseeing cruise that will take you to the best whale-sighting spots. – Tripadvisor See more..

    - Great location
    Beaches
    North Wildwood Beach image
Great beach for family!! The beach is well maintained. Life guards on duty until 5. They have rinse off locations which helps with getting the sand off. My kids 15 and 7 love to boogie board which this place was great for (around east 6th-14th Ave). Some spots the ocean took a good portion of the sand away but the beach is so long so not too hard to find a good spot. If you have small children I recommend to go around 2nd or 3rd Ave as there were less waves knee deep for a good distance. Also, I recommend downloading Park mobile App you will need it for street parking anywhere in North wildwood. It also helps you to see if parking spots are available as well. See more..

Great stop off, well worth a ride to check it out even if your not staying in cape may. I am very sure you will find something to interest everyone. They have a ton of different stores. Its smithville only larger. Loads of different stores and places to eat. I do not suggest you go when its hot out because then its stifling without so much as a breeze and with the beach being only blocks away. Driving in you can see all the beautiful homes. Its really a nice trip to make I would highly recommend now as far as the stores be prepared they are pricey but then again I am sure that the rent here is expensive. I am thinking maybe a trip during the xmas holiday is needed. See more..

    - Best way to see the city
Thursday: 6:00 AM - 12:00 AM Ferries • Sightseeing Tours
    NY Waterway Ferry image
This ferry is easy to get to. Parking is right across the street in a garage. There is a great view of the NYC skyline as we approached from the river. There is a snack bar and a bar in the New Jersey Imperial terminal. The ticket includes a bus ride in Manhattan that got us within a few blocks of our destination. We got a ride back to the NY terminal by flagging down the bus on the route in the city. The bus locator was no help, since it is not updated in real time. But, overall, as an occasional visitor, this is my favorite way to get to NYC. See more..

My wife and I visited in early September. We are from rural Minnesota. Needless to say, we were a little nervous about navigating the metro New York City freeway traffic to get to Thomas Edison National Historical Park and a little uncertain on what to expect for the neighborhood surrounding the park. Thankfully, everything turned out great, and Thomas Edison National Historical Park was one of our favorite stops on our 10-day East Coast trip!! I keep revisiting in my mind how touring the grounds felt like Thomas Edison and his crew took a lunch break and to expect them back in an hour. Everything seemed so very well preserved - just amazing! Realize there are endless things to do in and around New York City, but please make an effort to stop here - you will be extremely delighted with your stay and have many wonderful stories to tell family and friends. Place is great for the family even during the whole Covid-19 crisis. The beach has a limited number of people allowed. So you have to make sure that you get there first thing in the morning or you are not going to get in. We got there at 9 am and the first beach we went to was full. Thank god for Belmar. Everyone was respectful of your space. nobody is wearing masks on the beach though. FYI. I can't wait to get back next weekend. See more..

The history of the City of Paterson includes its beginnings as the ambitious project of Alexander Hamilton and the Society for Establishing Useful Manufacturers (S.U.M.) in 1792 at the Great Falls, the early development of water power systems for industrial use, and the various types of manufacturing that occurred in the District's mills into the 20th Century. These included cotton fabrics, railroad locomotives, textile machinery, jute, and silk spinning, weaving, and dyeing, among many others. The Great Falls also represents compelling stories of the lives of immigrants who labored in the mills, those who owned and operated manufacturing concerns and became wealthy, and the quest of laborers and the labor movement for better working conditions and pay. Immigrants still settle today in Paterson to pursue their versions of Hamilton's vision, creating a diverse and vibrant culture. See more..

What a beautiful venue! Being here was my first time in NJ. My fiance and I traveled here to see Ace Enders play a super small and more intimate show. Had to only be about 50+ tickets sold. The show was done by tables so we had to purchase a table of 4 for the 2 of us but it was SO worth it. The show was on their side patio. They had drinks and snacks available by table service. The sound was great, the show was so amazing and I am so grateful to have gotten to see someone I had admired since I was in high school so close in front of me and singing my favorite songs. The venue itself was so clean and nice. Staff was helpful and friendly. Parking was nice - a lot right down the street has cheap parking you can pay by card. If there is something I was to see here again, I will definitely go. We need more small patio shows like this! See more..

OMG! This place is fantastic! Did not realize that this is as big as it is. There are several ramps that take you to view the scenery along the way as well as to look down. Along the way are tidbits of interesting train facts. Plenty of dolls on display, including Elvis dolls. A room with several antique organs. There is a snack food area. The staff was helpful in ordering discounted tickets online right in the gift shop. Definitely want to return to video the trains running around the many track scenes, See more..
