4.0Asbury Park Boardwalk(990 reviews) - Famous Jersey Boardwalk! Points of Interest & Landmarks
I had to go to Asbury Park boardwalk to recreate the famous sopranos “dream scene!” It was really cool to see Tillie at the wonder bar. I love the nostalgia of Asbury park boardwalk. In the theater building they have stores for shopping. There are a bunch of restaurants and a cool arcade called silver ball. It was cool seeing the Stone pony where Bruce Springsteen started.See more..

5.0Princeton University Chapel(161 reviews) - Princeton University Chapel Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Churches & Cathedrals
Princeton University's Chapel is amazing! The word 'chapel' conjures up the image of a small space for quiet reflection and prayer. While it is quiet, as it should be, it is anything but small. The chapel is beautiful and very large. Built around 1920 I believe and in the collegiate gothic style as many of Princeton's building are it is a wonderful place to visit if you are in Princeton. Just a short walk, maybe 100 yards into the campus from Nassau Street, you will come to the front entrance. When inside turn around to see the huge pipe organ in the balcony above the entrance. Christmas concerts there are amazing! Very cool place that is worth the visit especially if you like gothic architecture.See more..

4.5Turkey Swamp Park(111 reviews) - A Good Place to Camp Points of Interest & Landmarks • Parks
We camped here on a one night stopover while traveling south to North Carolina from our home on Cape Cod. After many hours of driving especially past the metropolitan area, it was nice to find a state park in which to camp. Although it was early in the camping season (late April), about a dozen other campers were here, too. We can only imagine how nice it must be during the summer. Our campsite was sizable and private, as the park is nicely wooded. We liked having a secure trash can and recycling bin at every site. The path around the bathhouse and the adjacent parking spaces are paved, so no risk of muddy feet after showering. The restrooms were clean. We took advantage of the heated laundry room to wash our dishes and catch a little warmth as it was chilly and windy during our stay. The staff patroled the grounds and kept everything in good order. Turkey Swamp was a good place to camp.See more..
4.0Fort Lee Historic Park(107 reviews) - BEst Views of the GWB! Thursday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks
Wonderful park with some of the est views of the George Washington BRidge you can see. There is a small museum there which is free but accept donations. Lots of interesting small exhibits there about the historic park. That museum is now closed due to COVID but will open again in time. The grounds itself are also nice with sme nice trails and even some cannons. There was also a flat fee at the front entracne years ago but that has been changed over to paying at a muni meter once you park. As there are very few muni meters and lots of spaces, you may find yourself waiting on a long line to pay during peak days and times. You can exit the park and ake a short walk right onto the GWB walk/bike pathway which is a great experience. It does get windy up there so stay warm.See more..

4.5sandy Hook Light house(78 reviews) - A Lighthouse that Tells the Nation's History Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks • Lighthouses
I visited the lighthouse on a quick stop after the Christmas holiday in order to check off another New Jersey National Park site. The beach is nice and, I would assume, a pleasant visit during warmer months. The National Parks Ranger and volunteer on site were extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. The tour of the lighthouse was great, with the volunteer giving us information outside the building, then describing its interior architecture once we were inside, before tracing its history from before the American Revolution up through the Cold War. He also pointed out sites along the way, drew comparisons to other lighthouses in the area, and described the unique tidal features that enlarged the Sandy Hook beach so that the lighthouse is currently farther from the ocean than when it was built. Well-worth a day trip!See more..
4.5The Grover Cleveland Birthplace(60 reviews) - Learn more about the only US president born in NJ! Thursday: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks
Very interesting site if you are interested in presidential history. I did not know alot about Grover Cleveland until I booked an appointment. Guide was very knowledgeable and could answer lots of questions, not just about Grover Cleveland but about events of the times of his presidency. Grover Cleveland does not have a presidential library so this site will be growing to accommodate more of his documents. He was a 2 term president so I appreciate that this site is being preserved so we can continue to keep lessons learned from history in the minds of the people of today. Visitor center is next to the carriage house and has upgraded to have very nice restrooms now.See more..

Even if you don't take a tour of Nassau Hall, it remains a must-see. Right on the edge of campus and facing the shops and restaurants of Nassau Street, it is literally the heart of the town both physically and symbolically. Walk around it and soak up the hundreds of years of history. When it was built, it was said to be the largest building in the colonies. Now it stands, covered in ivy, as a testament to the longevity of the school around it.See more..

4.5East Point Lighthouse(21 reviews) - Well worth the drive to see this beauty! Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Lighthouses
I recently began exploring lighthouses in NJ after getting a book. Living in Philadelphia, the fact that any lighthouse in NJ is just a couple hours away makes for a great hobby. I visiting the East Point Lighthouse on a crystal clear day in December and it was well worth the trip. The best way to verify when the lighthouse will be open is to call the number they have posted. A ticket to go inside the lighthouse is purchased in the gift shop next door. Parking is anywhere around the lighthouse, there is a parking lot designated for handicapped parking, but it is not on a busy street, so you should easily be able to find a spot. The walk up the lighthouse is easy since it is not high up, but the fun part is walking through the house that is reconstructed to appear as it would be for the lighthouse keeper’s family just after 1900. There are several benches and tables outside if you want to have a seat and take in the scenery.See more..
No longer a rail terminal, nor a sought-out historic site, this station and its neighbouring mass of tracks now play the gatehouse to the State Cruises ferries, departing for Ellis Island and Liberty Island daily. However, the building is gorgeous inside, and if you learn anything from the visit to Ellis island, you learn that anyone entering the country would first pass through immigration, then board a ferry for THIS station, to then embark on one of the many trains departing here. THIS is where all of those people took the first trip of their new life, and that's something to thin about. Stand in front of the tracks, where departure signs list stations and destinations, and soak in that feeling for a minute. THEN go and take your ferry.See more..

3.5Schorn Log Cabin(6 reviews) - Steeped in history Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks
It's not everyday you get a chance to see a wooden structure over 300 years old. The fact that it's been exposed to the south Jersey elements and still standing is a huge complement to its engineer. Built in the 1600's by Morton Mortonson, the grandfather of John Morton, who signed the Declaration of Independence. The cabin consists of one small room with no windows and a single door. Prior to and during the Civil War, the cabin was used as a station for the Underground Railroad. It is one of the oldest original log cabins of early Swedish architecture in the United States. It is what it is.. A wooden storage shed. It's what this cabin has been through that's invaluable. Definitely worth a visit.See more..
