  3. 4.0 Jenkinson's Boardwalk (873 reviews)
    - wristband day in July
    Piers & Boardwalks
    Jenkinson's Boardwalk image
Despite an expected heat index of 104, I brought my 10 yr old son here at the start of a Tuesday wristband day. Parking was easy across the street for $2.25/hr. I paid $9 up front and it was plenty, the main lot at the amusement park is $15 and then 1 block down is $10. They should expedite selling wristbands, as all the employees are lounging in the rides because nobody has a wristband for the first 15 minutes. There is almost no shade here, expect kids to run around without masks and parents to either wear them around their chins or not at all. There was some people trying to enforce masks at times. We wore ours unless drinking water in between rides. The lines were short, despite some ride cleaning in between, we never waited very long. We felt pretty comfortable for our Covid safety based on the crowd size. We went out to the boardwalk and found 2 places that had Dole Whip's in different flavors and would consider returning for other attractions. See more..

Place is great for the family even during the whole Covid-19 crisis. The beach has a limited number of people allowed. So you have to make sure that you get there first thing in the morning or you are not going to get in. We got there at 9 am and the first beach we went to was full. Thank god for Belmar. Everyone was respectful of your space. nobody is wearing masks on the beach though. FYI. I can't wait to get back next weekend. See more..

It is small, so you dont need a lot of time. However, if you want to sit, and maybe have a picnic and enjoy the views and sounds... it can take you a bit longer!!! Absolutely perfect place to stroll by, or sit for a while and take it all in! See more..
  7. 4.5 Port Imperial (26 reviews)
    - A review of the area, not the parking garage and ferry station
Spent 2-3 hours Piers & Boardwalks
    Port Imperial image
Port Imperial is two things. For the commuters it is the ferry terminal that I tend to avoid because it is too expensive and the NYC drop-offs are not very convenient (I explain more in my NY Waterway review). The second, which is what this review is, is the area of Port Imperial which is a gorgeous planned development on the Hudson. There are hotels, shops, restaurants, and IMO the most important thing, the riverwalk. Second only to Hamilton Park, these are the best views of midtown anywhere. There is parking (avoid the ferry terminal, especially on weekdays) throughout the area so if you are coming from out of town for dinner and a stroll it is convenient. Overall, a lovely place with outstanding infrastructure and views. See more..
