What a one of many picturesque bridges along this Delaware canal where miles tower barges. So wonderful that the bridges are well preserved and one can drive over them ( cautiously allowing room for other car to pass) or walk or bike over them. This bridge connects Uhlerstown, Pennsylvania ( Bucks County) to Frenchtown, NJ a charming town with cafes, art gallery and period homes. There are benches along the river to sit and have a picnic. 5. 3.5 Paulinskill Viaduct (5 reviews)
    - Not really an attraction

    Paulinskill Viaduct image
We were riding the Paulinskill Valley Rail Trail and stopped to check out the viaduct. It is a really cool structure that has been left to decay. It doesn't look like these pictures anymore due to the overgrowth on the top where the rails once were and all the grafiti. I must say some of the artwork is amazing. We climbed up to the top and the view was great. I am surprised it isn't fenced off as it is a pretty dangerous thing to do. I wouldn't go out of my way to see it. Just something to see on a very nice bike path. See more..

    Green Sergeant Covered Bridge image
Constructed in 1872, Green Sergeant is the only remaining, fully functioning covered bridge in New Jersey. It's a real treasure. The bridge was built to protect the wooden bridge from rot that would be caused by wetness from rain and snow landing on the bridge. Later, when wooden bridges were replaced by metal bridges, they did not need to be covered. As a result, the Green Sergeant was torn down. However, in 1961, a group of concerned citizens petitioned the State of New Jersey to rebuild the covered bridge that we see here today. I discovered the bridge while taking a ride through the beautiful Hunterdon County countryside on a clear fall day. Located just down a country road from Sergeantsville, it is officially listed as located in Stockton. There is nothing much around so you can pull over and explore the bridge. See more..
