Nestled in New Jersey’s southernmost point, Cape May is one of America’s oldest seaside resorts and a popular summer getaway. Its beach, running parallel to Beach Avenue, draws travelers for its unobstructed Atlantic Ocean views, lined with ornate Victorian mansions, and bustling shops and eateries. During peak season from Memorial Day through summer, you will need a beach tag to enter, which can be purchased at the beach entrance or City Hall. You can get a daily tag or a seasonal tag, and they serve as great souvenirs for your visit, too. Explore the rest of Cape May on a guided trolley tour and learn more about the backstories of this historic area. – Tripadvisor See more..

This beach has clean, expansive shores that stretch for five miles across the shores of Wildwood. Here, you can go surfing, boogie boarding, kayaking, and even dolphin or whale watching when the season is right. Get on a dolphin or whale-watching tour of Cape May for the best chance of spotting them. The best part? The beach is completely free to enter, unlike many other New Jersey beaches. You can also check out Wildwood's award-winning boardwalk, enjoy the thrilling amusement parks at Morey’s Piers, or get drenched at the high-octane Splash Zone Water Park. – Tripadvisor See more..

    Sunset Beach image
Nestled on the Cape May Peninsula, this underrated beach is famous for its spectacular sunsets. While the pebbly beach isn’t the most comfortable for walking, beachcombers love sieving through the sand to seek out Cape May “diamonds”—tiny pieces of quartz crystals that wash up on the shore. During low tide, you can spot the World War I SS Atlantus ship that ran aground almost a hundred years ago. If you’re lucky, you might be able to spot migratory whales between May and December; or join a sightseeing cruise that will take you to the best whale-sighting spots. – Tripadvisor See more..

    - Great location

Great beach for family!! The beach is well maintained. Life guards on duty until 5. They have rinse off locations which helps with getting the sand off. My kids 15 and 7 love to boogie board which this place was great for (around east 6th-14th Ave). Some spots the ocean took a good portion of the sand away but the beach is so long so not too hard to find a good spot. If you have small children I recommend to go around 2nd or 3rd Ave as there were less waves knee deep for a good distance. Also, I recommend downloading Park mobile App you will need it for street parking anywhere in North wildwood. It also helps you to see if parking spots are available as well. See more..

Place is great for the family even during the whole Covid-19 crisis. The beach has a limited number of people allowed. So you have to make sure that you get there first thing in the morning or you are not going to get in. We got there at 9 am and the first beach we went to was full. Thank god for Belmar. Everyone was respectful of your space. nobody is wearing masks on the beach though. FYI. I can't wait to get back next weekend. See more..
  7. 4.5 Ocean Grove Beach (358 reviews)
    - Beautiful Victorian houses

Compared to Bradley beach in terms of ease in walking along the shore, Bradley is best given that the sand is dense. However, the view of Victorian houses lining Ocean Avenue and all perpendicular avenues is just lovely❣️ The houses have intricate woodwork adorning them. I’m certain that it’s tough and costly to maintain given its proximity to salt water mist and breeze but majority of it look so uniquely attractive! See more..

  9. 3.5 Ideal Beach (27 reviews)
    - within walking distance

    Ideal Beach image
Ideal Beach is actually my local beach. Since Hurricane Sandy it has been widened and is quite large now. I would probably give it a 5, but do be aware there are no shops, restaurants, etc. Immediately adjacent. There are restrooms at one end which are open during the summer season. If you are looking for a quiet day to lie in the sun and maybe do some bird watching, this could be a good place to go. It is also on the bay, so no big waves making it good for kids. See more..
