-Experience the forest at its best
Friday: 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Nature & Wildlife Areas
The treetop walk is 1,250 meters long and up to 20 meters high. It has activity and learning stations, and its highlight is the 40 meter high, architecturally unique view tower. Once you reach its uppermost platform, you will be rewarded with a beautiful view out over thick woodlands of the Black Forest. See more..

-Great place to visit
Friday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
I do like to visit zoo's, but there is always the feeling that the animals shouldn't be kept in such small places. But here the animals have large enclosures and that's perfectly fine. Sure, you may not see that animals as well, as you see them in a zoo. But it adds to the pleasure, you can make a beautiful walk around the park and have fun spotting the bears and wolves between the plants and trees. We did see plenty bears and wolves, it is great to see that there are places like this, that really care about their animals. Please go visit and enjoy your time, See more..

-Great Trip with Friends
Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent More than 3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas • Hiking Trails
I ended up going here with a group of friends. You need to wear good hiking shoes and bring walking stick, water, and snacks. If you choose too, you can hike all the way up into the mountain and do a loop to get to this water fall. You can also just walk on a flat path to the Water fall. There are steps built into the side, so you can walk up the water fall. We went up to the top and stood under the water fall. Be careful of slippery rocks, but it was beautiful. There is an awesome Biergarten at the top of the water fall and then you can walk down. Don't use the outhouse, because it was so smelly and there were flies all over the place. See more..
- 4.5 Wutachschlucht (145 reviews)
-Stunning scenery
Spent More than 3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas • Hiking Trails
The hike from Wutachmuhle to Schattenmuhle is simply superb and well worth doing. It is about 12.5 km long and takes 3-4 hours. Most of it is fairly flat, although there are some steep, muddy and rocky sections it follows very close to the river and far away from any roads. See more..
- 4.0 Vogelpark Steinen (117 reviews)
-Small but excellent bird zoo and show, with monkey feeding!
Friday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
Took the kids to see, rather pricey at first glance, it's not very big, walled through the whole thing in 2 hours which seemed rather short for €60. Birds are well kept with lots of info about them, there's just not a lot of it.. But then we went to the greifvogelshow, and it's definitely the star of the show. Engaging and informative, even if only in German. And the things get even better when you go to the monkeys how after and feed the monkeys! Staff was also very friendly and accommodating, so overall a great experience for kids and adults alike See more..

-Quiet rural attractions
Friday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas • Zoos • Parks
This rural nature park is a great family destination. Beautiful woods. Some animals that come right up to you. A bird show. Feeding of wolves. All with a good deal of teaching about the animals. Nice picnic area. Decent food, beer, and other beverages. Information and shows are only in German. Quite hilly. See more..
- 4.5 Monbachtal (47 reviews)
-Fairytale land
Spent More than 3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
The Monbachtal gorge is absolutely gorgeous. The path can be a bit tricky (so wear proper shoes) but highly rewarding. The river meanders through The Valley with small waterfalls along the way. With autumn setting in, scenery was even more beautiful. You can park at the entrance but do make a plan how to walk (otherwise it is the same way back - which is, given the beautiful place, not a bad option). See more..

-Wonderful 'hour as a falconer' / Falknerstunde
Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Nature & Wildlife Areas
After a really nice show of flying eagles, owls and vultures with an extremely engaging and motivated falconer as speaker, my wife took a falconry hour where she was given the chance to fly a Harris hawk under 1-2-1 supervision of one of the experienced falconers from the castle. I supervised our 1 1/2 year old and handled the camera. The lesson turned out great and included at the end also a brief handling of a eagle owl (the largest one around) and of a barn owl (the cutest one ;-). the lesson took much longer than we had paid for and was just great... a must do! - 3.5 Reptilienhaus (30 reviews)
-Small for the price.
Nature & Wildlife Areas
We got in with the Bodensee Erlebniskarte, so we didn't actually pay to get in, but it looked like the cost for a family ticket was €16. There is only really one room with various reptiles to see, including snakes, lizards and tortoises, we went round twice and were finished in about 30 minutes. The animals looked well looked after, one of the enclosures was left open, although neither of the huge snakes inside looked as if they wanted to escape, which was good. See more..
- 4.5 Naturschutzgebiet Taubergießen (29 reviews)

Nature & Wildlife Areas
A trip along the river through the wildlife sanctuary is definitely a must. It's beautiful, peaceful, romantic. The ride takes about an hour and a half and you can sit on a long, narrow boat, relax and enjoy the idyllic scenery. Just make sure you have plenty of mosquito repellent! See more..

We drove up into the Black Forest to the Haldenhof area, to the Nonnenmattweiher, a small lake at just over 900 m altitude, and enjoyed a walk around the lake in sunny fresh conditions, followed by a light lunch at the Fischerhutte. The walk and lunch is both highly recommended. See more..

-A nice place for moms and grandparents
Spent 2-3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas • Zoos
If you are near Heidelberg or so and need to spend a few hours with your grandchildren or want to take to your friend while the kids play, this is the place to come. - 3.5 Gartenschau Enzgarten (14 reviews)
Nature & Wildlife Areas • Gardens
See more..

-Better than any zoo
Nature & Wildlife Areas
We drove there just for the animals and it was a pleasant walk around the woods. The deers were trying to hide and simply wanted us to respect their privacy. The boars however, were not afraid of people. There were 3 adult ones and 4 youngsters which were really playful but showed their wild character at the same time. See more..

-Very Nice Nature Reserve
Spent 1-2 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
I stayed nearby for a weekend in July and this reserve was a nice, quiet and large place (not full of people) to take long walks along the river with views of the Bodensee. It was quiet muddy and a lot of mosquitos, but maybe due to recent rain. See more..

- 4.5 Grosses Lautertal (12 reviews)
-A beautiful pearl of nature in the Swabian Alb
Nature & Wildlife Areas
The Lautertal can either be visited by the Laufenmühle near Lauterach or from Indelhausen near Hayingen. Pure nature that is worth a trip when the weather is nice and the sun is shining. The Lauter meanders in its natural river basin through green meadows, past villages and castle ruins. It is one of the most beautiful tributaries of the Danube. Graveled path and gentle climbs, cozy and easy to walk, it is suitable for everyone. Past rocks, caves, castle ruins and the typical vegetation, always along the Lauter. You can walk, climb, hike, bike or go down the Lauter in a small boat / canoe, in between you have to get out and carry the boat - for example at the small waterfall in the Lautertal. The Lautertal is also ideal for barbecues or picnics. In 2019, the Lauter was voted Germany's natural wonder and the most beautiful river in Germany! No longer a complete insider tip - visitors to Stuttgart, Tübingen or Reutlingen have been coming on weekends for years, especially to the upper end or the beginning of the Lauter Valley. Compared to other sights, it is still an insider tip and not nearly as crowded as many other places. Peace and nature, fresh air and a wonderful landscape in every season. I personally prefer starting at the Laufenmühle. There are fewer people there. Nearby are the Marbach horse stud with its Arabs and the Wimsen cave, as well as other sights for everyone who loves nature. See more..

- 4.5 Naturparkzentrum Stromberg-Heuchelberg (4 reviews)
-Naturinformationen kindgerecht aufbereitet
Spent 1-2 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
See more..
- 4.5 Auenwildnispfad (3 reviews)
-Ein zauberhafter Ort
Spent More than 3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
See more..

- 4.0 Das Weingartener Moor (1 review)
-kleiner Rundweg auf Holzstegen zum See im Weingartener Moor
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Also gut aufpassen!
See more..
