Most accurate and respectful presentation of human history. The museum is mostly in German, but the audio guide let's you hear and understand what the museum is trying to do. Not emphasis the Venus figurine, but teach you who, why, where and what happened in the valleys 50.000 years ago. We spent almost 2 hours here and are left with knowledge, insight and that rare feeling of being introduced by a museum that wants you to learn and understand. A must if you are near Ulm! See more..

A great way to spend a rainy Sunday morning with a toddler in tow. The rooms with the various animals in it were the most exciting for her - plenty of sights AND smells! While the displays do give a nice amount of info, there doesn't seem to be a really cohesive narrative, nor go into depth. My biggest disappointment was that the minerals were grouped by colour - not by mineral group or in a scientific way. See more..

Went here as near to our camp site and it was a fantastic outing, well connected by cycle paths. Good value toi explore the caves, with audio descriptions in a number of lanuages. very cool which was great as it was a hot day. Took children aged 3, 7, and 9 and they all managed fine, helped the little one as some steps and ladders are very steep. Great cafe for before and after snacks and drinks. In der Ortsmitte gelegen beherbergt dies Museum zwei Teile. In einem modernen Anbau ist ein didaktisch und medial sehr modernes und gutes Museum zum UNESCO Weltkulturerbe Insel Reichenau zu finden. Dies zeigt zwar fast gar keine Originale, gibt aber einen tollen Überblick mit Bildern und Schautafeln. Im historischen Gebäude ist ein Heimatmuseum untergebracht, das in ganz klassischer Art die nähere Vergangenheit der Insel erklärt und mit Schauobjekten veranschaulicht. Interesting area which can be overlooked unless someone points out the crater rim on a short walk away. There was a little film shown .The collection of fossilised snails was fun and actually purchased some having seen the obsessive work done the evolution of the snail in the museum. Privat wie beruflich war ich schon im Auberlehaus, das von Ehrenamtlichen geleitet wird. Die Führungen werden auf den Besucher / die Gruppe abgestimmt.

Wir waren ein Jahr nach dem ersten Besuch nochmals dort. Auch beim zweiten Mal hat es uns sehr gut gefallen. Durch die multimediale Darstellung kann man Moor mit fast allen Sinnen erfahren. Leider scheint das Moor Extrem nicht viele Besucher anzuziehen. See more..

We were surprised it was free as besides the natural history museum part there was a photo exhibition on various sea creatures we have never seen before. We were blown away with the fantastic shapes and colours of the creatures shown. It is hard to believe things like this exist. The building with the Prince of Fuerstenberg's private (!) collections (Sammlungen) is less than 100 m from the source of the Danube. Luckily we found it by chance, there was no information sign, entrance fee is 5 Euro, taking photos is not allowed. The collections are on 3 floors, the lady at the reception recommended to start with the most upper floor where paintings and sculptures are shown. The most interesting exhibition is on the 2nd floor, the history and culture of the family of the Fuerstenberg, with portraits of former princes and family members, impressively long swords and other paraphernalia, Napoleon's travel urinal and a silver plate he used for his meals, trophies, uniforms, precursors of the bicycle incl. the English tricycle Royal Salvo. The presentation on the first floor dates from the time when Prince Karl Egon III. established the museum in 1868, with stuffed animals shot a very long time ago – today it looks out of place, I felt sorry for the animals; fossils and millennium old bones of mammoths and saurian discovered in nearby locations, minerals, stones. The exhibition of modern paintings and installations was not so interesting. A very interesting private museum, even though every exhibit is described I would have preferred a guide. One woman who I met in several rooms was very knowledgeable and readily answered my questions, possibly she was a guide. All in all I recommend to visit this private collection. See more..

Das Museum bot uns so viele faszinierende Eindrücke und die Führung war so informativ, abwechslungsreich und humorvoll gestaltet, daß wir alle begeistert waren. Erwähnenswert: die Führung war sogar außerhalb der Öffnungszeiten möglich Fazit: Auch für ein Event durchaus geeignet
