  4. 4.5 Steinwasen Park (358 reviews)
    - Even Better than Europa Park
    Amusement & Theme Parks
    Steinwasen Park image
After visiting the all-too-famous theme park Europa Park, we found this park even more attractive, and were happy to pick this destination for our summer vacation family trip. Much quiet and (at least feel to be) spacious than the theme park at Rust. No long queue, but a 218m-long hanging bridge. For those nature and animal lovers, there were many local and Alpine animals (such as marmot and deer). That's good enough for our family to spend one whole day. See more..

We combined this visit with a trip to the nearby Barefoot walk. It was a great summer toboggan run and cheaply priced. The outdoor cafe/beer garden was good for lunch too. We enjoyed the Flammkuchen (french pizza) and Currywurst. See more..

We spent all day there. Plenty to do in a lovely setting. Literally no wait for any of the rides. It’s easy to stroll around the park and take one’s time to enjoy the surroundings. I see a lot of negative reviews but we had an awesome day and most importantly, the kids loved it. See more..

  9. 4.5 Freizeitpark Traumland (83 reviews)
    - Great theme park for kids 4-9

    Freizeitpark Traumland image
Went twice within a week and spent close to 3 hours each time - probably tells you more than anything else I could write. Lots of fun rides clearly geared to younger kids, although some like Steinschleuder and Komet do have some thrill to it. Good food options at quite reasonable prices. The ticket prices are not exactly cheap, but considering the large selection of rides absolutely reasonable. See more..
  10. 4.5 The Little Folk's Trail (78 reviews)
    - Fun trail with a story and cute statues and decorations

    The Little Folk's Trail image
The trail is fairly easy to walk. There is a story at the start of the trail in several languages. Alongbthe trail there are stops with statues of the characters and backdrops that match a page in the story. I quite liked the fairytale atmosphere of these stops, and the kids liked having something extra to the walk as well. Though i don't think they listened to the story much. All in all, it was very enjoyable, and had the extra something to make city kids like walking in nature. See more..
  11. 4.0 Baumkronenweg Waldkirch (73 reviews)
    - Good opportunity to appreciate nature

    Baumkronenweg Waldkirch image
We walked up the path on a beautiful warm day. Tip 1 - take water Tip 2- wear comfy shoes. The walk took about 45 minutes and there are a few intersting stop off points for the children to read and find out information. When you reach the top there are basic toilet facilites, picnic benches and a small park. You then pay to go onto the park itself - it was interesting and we had beautiful views although I had it in my head it would have been longer but when you look at the construction I can full appreciate why it is the length it is. There is a tree trekking course our children started it but turned back as it was moving too slowly. Our children aged 10 and 12 paid 2euro each to take the slide down and they loved it - that was the highlight of their visit. Worth a visit and the walk up although it got the heart pumping and legs burning, it was worth it. See more..

  15. 3.0 Kletterwald Heidenheim (9 reviews)
    - Klettern für Anfänger und Profils
    Amusement & Theme Parks
    Kletterwald Heidenheim image
