We got a hochschwarzwalder cart from our hotel and with this you can take the cable car for free to the top of the Feldberg. At the end of the cable car it is a 15 minute walk to the real top of the feldberg. Not far from the cable car is an viewing platform which is also free with this cart. From the top tou have a beautiful views on the surrounding if there are no clouds. You can also make different hikes on and from the top, same if you are with a mountainbike. See more..

We decided to walk up to Merkur from downtown. Our hike started along Lichtentaler Allee and took us through a beautiful forest to the top of the mountain. The view around Baden-Baden is excellent. For an easier way up, take the funicular. See more..

Fantastic view of Heidelberg and the whole valley as it was a beautiful sunny day. It takes quite a time to get to the top on Funicular railway having to change half way up from a modern one to an older smaller one. We were fortunate that we didn't have to wait too long in between changing, but can imagine at the height of the tourist season that would be quite different. On the way down we got off at the Chateau stop and spent a couple of hours there and then took the train down afterwards to the station. Not a particularly cheap experience at €14 per person but we were not perturbed. You can get food and drinks at each stop on the line if you have the time and inclination to do so. There is the option of getting to the top by foot haha! , car or bus which is cheaper of course than the railway. See more..
  5. 4.5 Belchen (119 reviews)
    - Best views in the entire Black Forest!
    Mountains
    Belchen image
We have been coming to different places in the Black Forest for several years and honestly we think this is the mountain with the best views in all directions. Provided that the weather conditions are favorable you can see France, the Alpine peaks in Switzerland and the forests and hills of the Black Forest itself. Fantastic! A big advantage of this place is that it is not overly touristic: we were able to board the cable car without a queue in mid-August 2022, and the (very beautiful) panorama circular walk was not too busy. Belchen is less crowded than the much more famous Feldberg or Schauinsland, while the views are just as beautiful. A must visit if you are in the south of the Black Forest! See more..

It's a mountain with a special flair in the middle of a great nature next to Bopfingen City, surrounded by meadows, corn- and wheat fields and small villages. When you get up to the top you can enjoy a great view. Don't miss it - you will like it! See more..

  13. 5.0 Hohenkarpfen (7 reviews)
    - Very nice viewpoint over one of Germany's most picturesque areas
    Spent 1-2 hours Mountains
    Hohenkarpfen image
Hohenkarpfen and its distinct shape are a perfect spot for panorama pictures of the area. You can park your car at the beginning of the street to it and enjoy a 20 minute walk to get to the hill, or you can drive to the hotel with the same name, and just walk up the small path to the top. The path to the top is about 10-15 minutes, it's fairly steep, and it's not paved in any shape or form - so you can't take a pram with you. However, after that quick climb, you'll be rewarded with a really nice almost-360-degree view of the beautiful surrounding area of fields, small towns, and the mountains of the Schwaebische Alb. At the foot of the hill is the Hotel Hohenkarpfen which also has an art gallery, and has its own beautiful views. It's pricey but has an immaculate reputation in the area. See more..

    - Schönes Ausflugsziel - unter der Woche
    Mountains
See more..
  17. 4.5 Georgenberg (2 reviews)
    - Tolle Aussicht
    Spent 2-3 hours Mountains
    Georgenberg image
