I would just like to advise people that if they wish to rent a pontoon boat on Lake Norman to be very weary of the lake. It has many shoal and buoys warning you to stay away from certain areas of the lake so that you don't ruin your engine or boat. The problem is there are areas that are not marked very well and you can end up like we did! The depth of water can drop dramatically in areas where the water can get very shallow and you get stuck trying to get out. That is what happened to us and the marina makes you responsible if this occurs. It cost us $260 for damage. I would advise you to go to Lake Wylie where this is not a problem at all and you can relax and never worry about this problem. We would never rent pontoon boats on Lake Norman ever again!!!See more..
