This free & modern museum does a great job of telling the history of the 82nd Airborne Division. The inside of the museum is comfort controlled & has restrooms, a gift shop & all of the amenities you would expert. All of the exhibits have descriptions that are easy to read. Outside there are some monuments & about 2 dozen airplanes & army vehicles to view. There are a couple of drawbacks to visiting. The museum is located on an active Army post & unless everyone in your party already has some type of identification that allows you to enter a military base, I would not come as it is not a quick & easy process to get that access identification. Also, if you have never been to Ft Bragg before, don’t enter the museum as your destination on your gps. You will probably be routed to a gate that is not open. Put “Main Gate, Ft Bragg” as the destination in your gps & once you are on post, put the museum as the destination on your gps. When you get ready to leave Ft Bragg, use your gps to exit via the Main Gate, then chart a course to your next destination on your gps. See more..

This attraction is correctly called "The North Carolina Aviation Museum & Hall of Fame." I have always liked this little museum. This visit was perhaps my fifth over the past 15 years or so. There is an entry fee reduction (unadvertised) for senior citizens. I noted they have a new sign for the museum. The newest additions I noticed were a wall for the Hall of Fame members as well as some very nice, very easy-to-read signs explaining certain exhibits or some aspect of aviation history. There were no new aircraft that I noted since my last visit 6 years ago, but I still enjoyed seeing those aircraft and looking at the smaller exhibits. I noted there seemed to be an addition or two in the exhibit devoted to the Tuskegee Airmen. This visit I took more time to read the small notices accompanying many of the artifacts. Do that if you visit. You won't be disappointed. See more..
