3.0Xtreme Play(23 reviews) - Dirty Play Sunday: Playgrounds
We took my 4 year old son here to burn off some energy and I couldnt get over how dirty I even felt just sitting there watching him. Granted I know you can only do so much with children who are constantly touching things then putting their fingers in their mouths etc., but I didnt even see where the basic cleaning procedures were being done. There was a limit to what my 4 year old could do. They should invest in more things fo the kids. See more..

It was 95+ degrees when we were there but there is ample shade and plenty to do for the kids so the heat didn’t really matter. There are 3 or 4 smaller parks inside the one big park, but they aren’t that small. We go there every time we’re in Cary. Wonderful park!!See more..

Just remember they're closed on wednesdaysSee more..

It was a beautiful park. Playgrounds for kids. A great mostly flat path to walk around a gorgeous lake. Parking was open and restrooms available. Plenty of different types of ducks to see too. I recommend to bring bread to feed them and we even saw baby ducklings. So cute! Turtles too. The place appears to have nice lights so plan to return to see what it looks like at night. If you play frisbee golf that is available plus tennis court and volley ball area. Benches to sit and enjoy the scenery are scattered around as well as picnic tables. Dogs on leashes allowed too. I would recommend to go and check it out. See more..
5.0Lowes Foods City Park(11 reviews) - A well executed Hickory kid fun park/play ground Spent 1-2 hours Parks • Playgrounds
I have been taking my grand-daughter here for several years (she is now 6). She loves the park/play ground. I love that it is well maintained, safe (as any playground can be), and located right downtown. During the summer months, the park has a water feature that the kids seem to really love. This coupled with ample seating for the adults to relax and keep an eye on the kids make this a win win for both of us. I also, need to mention that there are a few picnic tables and we often go to the park with a smaller cooler filled with water, juice, a sandwich, some fruit and other goodies.See more..
Clark Park is a great little nature park in Fayetteville. There is a nature center and several short unpaved trails as well as parking for the Cape Fear River Trail, a 5-mile greenway trail. There is even a small waterfall right behind the Nature Center. It's on a very small creek so best to visit the waterfall after a heavy rain. We stopped for a short hike to see the waterfall and then a longer hike on Cape Fear River Trail.See more..

4.0Walter Henderson Park(4 reviews) - Good Neighborhood Park Spent < 1 hour Hiking Trails • Playgrounds
This park is right down the street from where I live and while I visit it a couple times a week, I tend to take it for granted and don't even realize I use it as much as I do and that I appreciate it as much as I do. When the grandkids come over, they love the play area and can enjoy it for hours. When they are not here, Lexi, our Corgi enjoy walking the paths. He has an insatiable curiosity and enjoy exploring plus he insists on greeting anyone he meets with open paws. It's a great asset to the area. Well maintained, clean and a good break to a nice calm place to unwindSee more..
3.5Super Jumps(4 reviews) - Fun time for kids and adults. Playgrounds

Was staying in the area due to Hurricane Matthew, and happened upon this park and playground. My infant loved it! A lot to do in a small area - two nice playground equipment sets, for older and for younger kids, a picnic area, a swingset, tennis courts and benches around the area to sit and keep an eye out on them. Infant wasn't bored at all, and could have stayed there longer! Some graffiti scratches on slide, but nothing too obvious. Dirt and mulch surface, not a rubberized mat, FYI (but what's a little dirt if you're having fun?) Would definitely recommend this.See more..
3.5Carpenter Park(3 reviews) - Engaging playground for all ability levels Nature & Wildlife Areas • Parks • Playgrounds
I enjoy bringing my two children here after story time at the library down the street. The equipment is non-traditional, consisting of more rope climbing equipment and high places rather than steps and platforms. But my 3 year old loved learning how to play in a new way. There is a section for younger children that my 10 month old enjoyed too. Pros: Big well-maintained sandbox, soft surface under the equipment (not mulch), swings for babies, big kids, and seat harness swings, two sections for younger and older kids, and a covered picnic table shelter. Cons: Not a lot of shade in the summer. It gets very hot! But it's a great park for a cooler day when the sunshine is more welcome.See more..

4.0Granite Lake Park(1 review) - Afternoon drive and picnic Sunday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Parks • Playgrounds
Found this park next to the main highway of US-52, while on an afternoon drive. The park was perfect for our afternoon picnic. The park offers sheltered and open picnic tables. The sheltered tables are metal, clean, and well maintained. There are also wooden tables near the walking trail. A gazebo and paved walking track are also provided to allow the enjoyment of the small lake. The lake is fitted with a spray fountain. If you have children there is also a new playground area for their enjoyment. The grass was free of trash and freshly cut. The restrooms were clean but in my opinion could use some updating.See more..
4.0Rob Wallace Park(1 review) - Great Local Park Nature & Wildlife Areas • Hiking Trails • Playgrounds
Family stroll around the front lake with the dogs on Mothers Day. A good number of families setting up on the picnic benches under trees for outdoor lunches. Good toddler playground up front and an excellent discovery playground on the side for pre-teens. The park goes back almost a mile with three total parking lots and a second lake way in the back, good gravel walking trails and frisbee golf throughout. Well maintained by the county.See more..
5.0Library Park(1 review) - Perfect Spot for the Little Ones Sunday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 1-2 hours Parks • Playgrounds Library Park has lovingly become "Train Park" for our family. 4.0PlayFunParty(1 review) - Great New Indoor Playspace Sunday: 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Playgrounds PlayFunParty is a great spot for indoor play for babies to older toddlers. It's amazing the amount of equipment they've been able to fit into a smaller space. There is a small fee per visit and parents get complimentary drinks (coffee, tea, water). The last time we were there, there were moms working while their kids played. They have a special area for arts (that you can pay more to utilize) and you can host parties here too. A really fun and unique space that's great for the littles!See more..
5.0Ken's Korny Corn Maze(1 review) - Fall Fun! Playgrounds Ken's Korny Corn Maze is so much fun! This past year was our second year going and the kids love it! Not only does it have multiple playsets (probably 4 all together) with slides and swings, it also has animals you can visit and the main attraction is the corn maze. There are three different colored mazes of varying difficulty. You can do one, or all three. There are punch cards stations all along the mazes, so you can punch the cards you get when you enter to spell out things like "Corn", "Maze", "Ken" or whatever they decide on each year. It helps you know that you're on track in the maze and nearing the exit. They always have a food truck out there for concessions. I believe a ticket in gets you admission for the day, so if you had to go home for naps or a meal, I believe you could come back. It's always a lot of fun and we can't wait for fall to go again this year!See more..
4.0Smyre Millenium Park(1 review) - Small in size, Big in Activity Parks • Playgrounds
This is a small park, nestled inside a walking trail and surrounded by what we call down South, Mill Houses. Kinda like a Central Park of the South. It's about 2 acres of land with a asphalt walking trail on the perimeter. One covered picnic table, benches and lots of play structures for the little ones. Dogs are allowed (cleanup supplies supplied), but parking seems limited. A quiet and cozy park just hidden along Hwy 7 in Gastonia.See more..
