Lots of variety in shops, all local - no chains. Features include a bookstore (great people), a NC specialty shop (with local honey and coffee produced in NC), the Cotton Club featuring a variety of artists and potters, a frame shop with art gallery. Extremely well planned now. They have been working on it to accommodate a variety of people. Even though the entrances are high off the street, they build a wide walk way with ramps so there are no issues to get into a shop. Often sponsor interesting events including "Dirt Day" and a monthly open house type of event. Lots of food places with variety. See more..

My wife and I along with some friends decided to meet up at Clemmons to walk on one of the trails. I now understand why so many people have said nothing but foo things about the area. It’s really a serene place. I had been there before but that was because I was invited to a cookout at the campground area and it was raining that day. Today was very peaceful and it set the tone for my day. I highly recommend this place. See more..

We saw a sign and decided to check out this park. The sun was already low so we knew we would not be able to walk the entire trail but we went as far as we dared before turning back. UNC bought the 93 acres of land in 1793. There is no designated parking for the park so you may have to drive around a bit before you find a legal place to park. There are several different trails and one even takes you past Gimghoul Castle and another takes you to a stone amphitheater called Forest Theater. When we were there it was after several days of heavy rain and some of the trails over the creeks were washed out but we just stepped from rock to rock and kept going. I can't wait for the weather to cool off so we can walk the entire thing. See more..
