What a wonderful day I had in Seagrove yesterday, July 16th. First shop was a delight for not only pottery, but for the yarn and the yarn crawl going g on that day. All staff friendly, helpful and fun to be with. They had some much I wanted, but had to make choices! Meet several artisans who were very friendly and informative. I can't say enough good things about Donna Downey and Bill Downey. I was nervous to attend an art retreat away from home, all by myself. They made me feel at home, fed me well, had a refrigerator full of drinks, a wall of snacks and a wonderful, beautiful place to create art. I learned a lot and relaxed a lot and can't wait to go back! They also have a wonderful art supply store and a coffee shop. I don't drink coffee, but people who do said it was wonderful.See more..

Across from the movie theather in Birkdale Village there is a "Paint Your Own Pottery Studio" called Amazing Pottery. We had a great time time there. Were looking for something different to do and literally stumbled upon Amazing Pottery. The studio is cool, clean and full of beautiful things you want to paint yourself, perfect especially if you are looking for a specific color to match a room or a certain design. Once the ladies guided us through the process it was an easy, relaxing task to accomplish. I painted my very own coffee mug and I had a great time! I will definately go back and I learned they have a great website and great coupons online, if you are looking for a souvenir and a great place to spend some quality time at make sure to visit Amazing Pottery and you can make your own souvenir. This is a painting, pottery place in Harrisburg, NC. It is fun for just a few folks or for a group. It is fairly inexpensive and offers lots of projects. There is a lot of space to be creative. They offer classes or you can drop in. We did a canvas class and it was good. I did find that there were not a ton of paint colors to choose from but if you are good at mixing paints, you can make lots of colors. There is plenty of parking but it is a little tricky to find, especially at night - it is right past AJ's restaurant. Highly recommend for a fun activity.See more..
