4.5Ogunquit Beach(2.228 reviews) - What a beautiful Unique Beach! Beaches
Make sure to go at both Low and High Tides... 2 totally different experiences. My daughter and I went early morning and the sand was so wide, hardly anyone on the beach. Then went back at high tide and the river was full, everyone tubing and hardly any sand. It was crazy how it changed so much from the morning to afternoon. So fun. It is cold, but there are unexplained warm pockets. The only thing to know is that we went tubing from the river towards the ocean at high tide, and the life guards there told us to get out. At first, it scared us because we thought maybe there were sharks or something. But after we got out, he told us...that at high tide....they only let you go to a certain point so that you won't get swept out to sea and have problems getting back. Just something for everyone to be aware of. It is good they are watching and are keeping people safe.See more..
4.0Old Orchard Beach(1.545 reviews) - An (almost) abandoned wonderland. Beaches • Beach & Pool Clubs
Just about everything is closed now except for a few motels, shops, and a pizza stand or two. The weather's been very warm for October and even November, so there are still tourists. About two or three year-round restaurants are open. The pier is closed but is still a pretty sight, and you can see astounding, colorful sunrises from the beach this time of year.See more..
4.5Wells Beach(952 reviews) - Wells beach in autumn Beaches
This review is for an October stay. I cant imagine the summer crowds, as we are retired and enjoy the off season. We stayed at the Lafayette hotel group 3 different times. The beach right outside the door is perfect, the people minimal, our room and ocean view perfect! Be sure to eat at The Steak House. An amazing and critic worthy establishment and a lovely memorable dinner. Sunrises over the ocean here are simply brilliant, and the crisp fall days are spectacular. Wells Diner is a perfect breakfast spot, and the little adjoining gift shop is fun and reasonably priced. Perkins cove is not far, and a walking trail is the best memory accompanying a lobster roll and a blueberry soda. Many book stores, antique shops and fun things to see in this entire area. Each year we discover new beautiful spots to marvel over .Maine in fall is a true travel experience not to be overlooked.See more..
Stargazing at Sand Beach was my 2nd most favorite activity during our visit to Acadia National Park (my favorite was hiking the Beehive Loop!). We attended a Ranger-led talk. The path is marked with little red lights like a runway to guide you to the spot on the beach for the talk; otherwise, it's scary dark out there at night! Many people are done with the visit after dark, so parking at Sand Beach was easy. Bring a blanket and enjoy the stars! You can get more information about stargazing and ranger-led programs on the National Park Service websiteSee more..
The day after Thanksgiving...and Long Sands beckoned us for a long walk. There's a lot of beach to enjoy. Walkers, dog walkers, surfers, metal detectors, people of all ages. You have scenic views of Boone island, and Nubble Light. The Bath House in the middle has facilities. Parking spaces along the street.See more..

4.5Footbridge Beach(441 reviews) - Beautiful beach with great sand Beaches
We came to this beach at the beginning of May, so it was too cold to go swimming. It was not crowded at all. The beach was great to walk along and we saw several different birds, including a bald eagle. I recommend bring binoculars. We will definitely be going back.See more..
We visited this beach several times on our trip to Kennebunk. Each trip held something new. Tide coming in was fast and refreshing! Tide going out provided an open beach and quiet walks on the sand. One evening we had the treat of watching the dogs frolic in the waves after dusk started and "dog hours" began! If you have a parking pass for Kennebunk this beach is wonderful. We found a spot to park at various times during the day but I suggest early and late best to get a spot!See more..

4.5Higgins Beach(175 reviews) - All this, and lupines too. Beaches
This quaint beach is nestled in a residential oceanside neighborhood, with a small river forming at its tip. It retains a small-town feel as you’ll see residents taking a dip, fishermen casting their line, and kayakers paddling out. You'll see avid surfers catching waves regardless of the season too. Higgins Beach also draws families for its inviting shores and great swimming conditions. If it's low tide, you'll get to spot the shipwreck embedded in the sand. Higgins Beach is a short 20-minute scenic drive from bustling Portland and makes a great day trip from the city. – TripadvisorSee more..
If you want an authentic sandy beach with little to no seaweed. No “sea wall” where the tide comes in at 2 pm and you have to leave - this is for you. Parking $5 an hour - cheap compared to other beaches. We were in Kennebunkport and didn’t care for the beaches there. So glad we drive the 15 minutes here. Breathtaking. Not crowded. Wish we had discovered earlier !See more..
4.5Mother's Beach(128 reviews) - Where "Memories are created" Beaches
My wife and I have enjoyed this beach for the past 49 years. Bringing our own Daughter & Son and our Grand-children to this magical sea side shore where we were surrounded by the warm loving atmosphere of young families enjoying their new born to school age children. Even now that we are older we still return to this beach on occasion where we can sit and remember our times by watching young families making memories of their own. The beautiful play ground that is located on the beach allows the children to enjoy swings, slides and monkey bars where you can hear push me higher Mom/Dad. We label this as a mystical paradise for making beautiful memories. A must place to visit and enjoy the fantasy that exists there. Wally & Vicki See more..
4.5Pine Point Beach(124 reviews) - Great way to end the day. Spent 2-3 hours Beaches
This is a great beach to walk during low tide on a summer evening. The water changes to an ice blue color and the sky and wet sand turn pink as the sun sets. It's also entertaining to watch all the dogs run free and go nuts.See more..
4.5Parsons Beach(98 reviews) - Only room for 5 cars to park! Spent 2-3 hours Beaches
Lovely beach and a fishing hot spot (although I didn't catch any). However don't ignore the parking signs, even at dusk the police came down and ticketed people. See more..
4.5Willard Beach(91 reviews) - See and Be Seen at Willard Beach Beaches
Shore paths led from the SMCC campus and residential streets to the sandy city beach on Simondon Cove. The family-friendly beach had lifeguards, shower facilities, restrooms, and a children’s play area. The ocean water was clear and clean. Despite the signs, dogs were allowed on the beach only before 7am and after 7pm. Views from the beach included Fort Scammel, Fort Preble, and Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse, as well as several islands in Casco Bay. Access was free of charge. Parking was at a small city lot, on neighborhood streets, or a longer walk from lots on the SMCC campus. I liked all that I saw here; I disliked nothing.See more..
Beautiful, sunny and cold afternoon at the beach an hour and a half before low tide. Easy parking by the rock protected road. Maybe 8 people on the beach this time of year/day. Hunting for sea glass. Walked maybe a third of the beach. Warmer weather would definitely make for an all day stay.See more..
4.5Moody Beach(74 reviews) - Lovely long walk in November Spent More than 3 hours Beaches
Absolutely stunning long walk on the beach we didn’t even know about. We started our walk with the Ogunquit beach and continued up to the end of the Moody Beach (total out and back from the Ogunquit Beach parking lot was 5 miles). Moody Beach is mostly private but walking is allowed, so we were grateful for that. The weather was stunning, just unbelievable for November.See more..
We went here twice with our dogs and had a great time. There is quite a variety of activities for a small park. There's a great play area, big grassy fields, woods, a beach (dogs not allowed), a dock, rocks that go to the water. It's a beautiful location and we had a great time with the dogs who swam, hunted for critters, and ran like crazy!See more..
4.0Scarborough Beach State Park(44 reviews) - A quick get away before summer is over Monday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM State Parks • Beaches • Parks
We stopped over night on our way to Bar Harbor and took a walk along the beach. It was like having a private beach all to ourselves, the weather was unsettled that afternoon, so the beach was empty. The water was warm. My 15 year old daughter was doing cartwheels on the way sand. There were the sweetest baby seagulls running around.See more..
4.5Highland Lake Beach(22 reviews) - A relaxing get-away Spent < 1 hour Beaches
This was a wonderful place to relax and so much to keep the kids busy. Kayaking and paddle boarding and swimming, a game room, an obstacle course, bikes to ride. Carla, the owner, went above and beyond to help me out of a situation of my own making. You don't find people that nice anymore! A great time, would definitely recommend! PS. You definitely need a car, there are no Uber, lyfts, or taxis to be found in this little town. There is nowhere walking distance to eat.See more..
5.0Ferry Beach(20 reviews) - Quaint, Cute and Dog Friendly Monday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Beaches
Cute area but it doesn't seem like a beach to me as much as just a little bit of a shoreline walk. It was pretty crowded although that doesn't take much because it's very narrow. The great thing is you can bring your dog. Be prepared because pretty much everyone brings them. It's the reason I even tried this area. It's very quaint and pleasant and I would definitely go again despite the crowds.See more..
4.5Fish Beach(15 reviews) - Beautiful beach, quaint island town Spent 1-2 hours Beaches

4.5Seapoint Beach(14 reviews) - Fall visit: Rose hips and waves Beaches
Gorgeous shaly beach with gray sand and a long tidal slope. I should have checked -- parking is for residents only, but if you stop at the non-resident lot there's a place to walk in through the woods.See more..

4.0Colony Beach(5 reviews) - A little slice of heaven Beaches
LOVED spending time at this serene and breathtaking beach. The view is incredible, you can watch boats coming through the marina, the rocky shoreline, and the water. Just across the road from the colony hotel. There was a mix of families, a wedding party, locals and tourists alike. You can walk from the 'downtown' Kennebunkport area. We got lobster rolls at Port Lobster Co., and took them to the beach for a tasty and scenic meal.See more..
3.5Fowler Beach(3 reviews) - Wild and Wind-Swept Beach Beaches
What a wild beach! This community beach was about an eighth-mile (0.2 km) long. It was just a short 20-minute walk each way from and back to the ferry dock. Most of Fowler was sand strewn with seaweed. Parking for golf carts and cars was along the far side of a gravel road. We found a trash barrel but no visitor amenities – no potable water and no portable or permanent toilets. The beach offered good views of Peaks Island and passing CBL ferries. It was an excellent place for bird watching. It was also a good place to catch a sunset. Signs warned about poison ivy on a path to the beach. We most liked the views and the fine sand here; we least liked the absence of amenities.See more..
3.0Andrews Beach(2 reviews) - Unusual Beach on Long’s Back Side Monday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 2-3 hours Beaches
A narrow, sandy, seaweed-strewn beach stretched for about 1,000 feet (305 m) along Casco Bay. Parking was in a dirt lot at the end of Beach Road. There we found memorial benches, bike racks, and trash barrels. The state-owned beach itself had no facilities except for an outhouse down a path into the woods. It had no drinking water, no showers, and no lifeguards. Views included distant Halfway Rock Lighthouse and Junk of Pork Island. We most liked the big mussel shells we found at low tide; we least liked the long trek to the outhouse in the woods.See more..
4.0Rangeley Town Cove Park(2 reviews) - Popular Public Park on Rangeley Lake Spent 1-2 hours Beaches • Parks • Playgrounds This family-friendly 5.7-acre (2.3 ha) town park was on the eastern end of Rangeley Lake near a regional travel information center. Free parking was in paved lots. The park had a sandy beach, a short dock, a boat landing, BBQ grills, picnic shelters, and picnic tables. It also had swing sets, tennis courts, and a basketball court. Restrooms were open and fairly clean for a popular public park on a hot weekend day in early summer. It was a short walk from many places to eat and shop in the village center. I liked all that I found here, particularly the beach and the great views across Rangeley Lake.See more..
2.0Broad Cove Reserve(1 review) - Exclusively For Residents Only Beaches This 22-acre (8.9 ha) preserve includes 11 acres (4.5 ha) of beachfront. It is open dawn to dusk. It allows no onsite non-resident parking and there’s nowhere nearby that allows public parking. It also prohibits dogs. The preserve has a seasonal ranger, restroom and changing facilities, loop trails, and a pier. Parking was limited and strictly enforced; I came briefly before ranger’s hours to check it out. I liked all that I found here, except that use, quite understandably, was limited to town residents.See more..
