    Merriland Farms Golf Course image
This was a random decision to locate this place while on vacation in Ogunquit. We were pleasantly surprised at this nice layout and fun spot. We played 18 on this nine hole course. The longest hole was around 120 yards. The greens were in excellent condition and the man in charge was very accommodating. Just a real fun experience for all levels of play. My wife and I both had a birdie which was fun. Some ponds next to holes that received two of my golf balls. Number 7 says 65 yards but you might want to play it at 50.. See more..

A great course in excellent shape, with just enough challenges to keep us on our toes. The course layout on the back of the score card could have been illustrated better to help you know where the greens were from the tees on a few of the holes. We rode ahead to check them out without holding anyone up. Food after golf was great from a pub style menu and the staff in the restaurant were great. Fast and attentive. Drinks were right on. - An interesting, fun course
    Golf Courses
    Augusta Country Club image
I had the opportunity to play the course for the first time recently with some good friends. We played on a Tuesday afternoon, so everything was pretty quiet. Visually, the first and second holes draw you in and challenge you. After that it's a lot of doglegs and minor elevation changes to greens that will test you. The backside is across a fairly busy road (you're at a disadvantage in a golf car), but is tighter and tougher than the front. Definitely an old school golf course! See more..

  27. 5.0 Fairlawn Golf & Country Club (4 reviews)
    - It's one of the best places to play in Maine
    Spent 2-3 hours Golf Courses
This has never been a bad golf course. But,, now,, with it's new owners, it's even better. The price is about the same as other local courses. The conditions are excellent. From the tee box to the green, this is a very nice course. The clubhouse is a dressed-up snack bar; but that's all I want. They even have a few condo apartments for overnight stays that include cart and golf; the decks to each one face the 18th green and the sunset. Give this place a try. See more..

  31. 3.5 Springbrook Golf Club (3 reviews)
    - Great Public Golf Course in the Middle of Lake Country
Spent More than 3 hours Golf Courses
    Springbrook Golf Club image
One of the best parts about this golf course is knowing that it is operated by a third generation family that formerly used the land for a dairy farm. The pro shop is in an old post & beam barn that can also host private events. Considering that golf is a seasonal enterprise in Maine, the quality of the greens was amazingly high. The fairway are about what you would expect and with the woods encroaching on all sides, a ball out-of-bounds is lost. If you can stay in the fairways, however, it is a pretty fair course with some challenging holes. The course only plays to 6,300 yards from the black tees so it is quite short. That said there are some water hazards and a stream that runs through the course that require some good course management to get around. The prices are reasonable, seniors $29.00 on the day we played. Add in $15.00 for golf club rentals (an odd collection of mismatched hand-me downs) and you can have a fun day even if you aren't going to shoot your handicap. See more..

Cedar Springs offers a nice 9 hole course, easy to walk although carts are available. Its a very diversified course, some fun holes some challenges along the way, but all around a fun course with some pretty spectacular views. its not unusual to see a doe or a turkey walking through the fairways. if it happens to rain while your there, look for the elusive pot o'gold on the 7th fairway. - it's a nice place to work on your game
Monday: 6:00 AM - 9:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Golf Courses
This is a small but nice 9 hole course. It is a great place to work on your game or master a particular club. The view is nice. The fairways range from good to much like a first cut at a better course. The greens are fine. The club house is like going back to 1950--in a good way. I like this course. The price is very fair for what you are getting. The Masters will never be held here. But, if you want to relax and just play an easy 9 or 18, this is your place. See more..

    - Play golf in a beautiful apple orchard and enjoy eating apples while you're at it
    Spent 1-2 hours Golf Courses
The course was developed in a mature apple orchard in rural Stillwater. Picturesque and scenic! Some interesting terrain. Flower beds and gardens enhance the course. All playing surfaces and other areas well-maintained. Play 9 or 18 holes. Very little sand on the front 9 (par 30); back 9 (par 32) has more sand and some water. Walk or ride. Golfers are invited to "help yourself to the apples in our orchards." Golf doesn't get much better than this on a beautiful summer evening! Note: Special rules apply during pandemic. Helpful to check with course about limitations and requirements. See more..

    - Found a new place to play golf
Spent More than 3 hours Golf Courses
I am not a professional golfer, so playing golf at place like Poland Springs Resort can be taxing. This course is small (9 holes) and perfect for the weekend golfer. There are many sand traps, but there is no water. Views are gorgeous of Mt. Washington and the Poland Springs area. At the 8th hole, there is an old burial ground. I've never seen that before at any course I have played. The clubhouse is really neat. Food is cooked to order. I had a hot dog with all onions, mustard, and relish. It came with homemade potato salad or pasta salad. There are specials each day and a dinner event on two evenings per week. The staff is really friendly and this really impressed our group. The course is easy to reach off the highway and there's even an inn next door. See more..
