What a great way to spend an afternoon in Bar Harbor. The 2 person crew was friendly, polite and super informative. The boat was pretty full but it felt roomy enough. The guide, Gaelyn, narrated throughout the excursion with unmatched enthusiasm. He is a retired teacher and it was obvious that he loves to teach and entertain. We learned in an interactive way about lobsters and the harbor. After the lobster hunting we road out to a lighthouse where we circumnavigated the little island it's on. There were two types of seals swimming and sunning. Tons of birds enjoyed the island and it's skies including two amazing bald eagles. Only SLIGHT possible negative .... Gaelyn really likes hamming it up with the kids. There were 5 kids on board and there was a LOT of time spent being silly with them. Seriously, how many ways can you put a lobster on a kid's head? We had a great experience with 201 Power Sports. We rented a 4 person side by side for a 6 hour adventure into the woods of Maine. Mel was very easy to work with and got us all set up for our trip. The machine was brand new and worked well. The trails were a combination of gravel and rocky terrain. The best part was going up to the wind turbines where you had a 360 degree view! Our families had a wonderful time on the Androscoggin River with canoes and kayaks from Bethel Outdoors. We did a 10 mile trip down the river with a shuttle to Gilead and got the trip off to an unforgettable start with the rope swing. The equipment was in good shape, the staff were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly and the safety instructions clear. The Kennebec was wild and beautiful on a somewhat smokey and cloudy but rain free Tuesday. The smoke was from the western wildfires. Our guides Oliver and Dylan were super fun and competent. Oliver, the guide on our boat , had some great rafting adventure stories and knowledge of the river’s history. My friend’s 16 year old daughter recommended Moxie because she had enjoyed her camp outing with them just a few weeks previously. My friend had never been white water rafting but had a great time in some pretty gnarly white water as we crashed through Magic Falls and Big Momma. By the end she was having fun floating beside the raft. The river is beautiful as is the wildlife and forest surrounding it. We feel like we have we’ve made some new friends and a guide company that we can return to and recommend to friends. Tuesday is a great day to go as sometimes it is a quieter day there.See more..
My family and I went on snow pond cruise this past Saturday, and I couldn’t recommend it enough. My family has been coming to messalonskee lake for generations, and we all learned so much new information about the lake, Oakland, Belgrade, and the animals. Gary was very informative, answered our questions, and you can tell he loves what he does! Highly recommend to anyone in the area, even if you don’t know Messalonskee lake, you’ll still enjoy the ride, the beautiful lake, and learn something you didn’t know before!!See more..

I had the privilege of participating in Sunrise Boat Church this morning with Captains Abby, Bob and Shawn. Such a thoughtful group of people and a very experienced and courteous host. I am inexperienced in how to get on and off a boat but I had nothing to fear, these friends are experts in making their guests feel comfortable. The dock is well lit, the parking is very inexpensive and the dock well lit and welcoming, even at 4:00 a.m. We sailed out into Biddeford Pool for a thoughtful and spirit-filled message to the backdrop of the rising sun. Rev. Abby is an amazing and thoughtful pastor with a message that was just what my soul needed to hear. Upon returning to the dock, I felt compelled to just sit and contemplate the beautiful morning and the message I heard while listening to sounds of the harbor waking up to greet a new day. If you want a unique worship experience, you must try Sunrise Boat Church with Broad Reach Sailing and Maine Tuna Fishing (Miss Megan II).See more..
We went for an 8 day trip with Cathy as our guide. Her connections with a local outfitter made everything go smoothly and efficiently. We initially spent some time in eco lodges , walking in the jungle, seeing native nocturnal animals in a guided tour, exploring an incredible ceremonial Mayan cave. We have canoed and kayaked on the lake many times but never been able to cover as much territory as this tour does. My wife and I and two friends spent the first week of September paddling the St. Croix river with Jason Cross, a Master Maine Guide and founder of Smoking Rivers. This was our second multi-day trip with Jason and even better than the first. We’re lightly experienced canoeists in our late 50s. Jason gave super clear instructions on how to navigate the white water, found glorious camping spots, helped us see everything from beavers to moose to smallmouth bass. And every day he cooked the world’s heartiest meals over the camp fire. We’ve known a half a dozen Maine guides and Jason is one of the most thoughtful, organized and at the same time, easygoing and fun. It’s hard to say what was the best part of our excursion, because it was a wonderful experience from start to finish! Captain Scott has a calm, relaxing demeanor and provides a plethora of fascinating information about Moosehead Lake and surrounding landmarks. We were provided with a delicious lunch and smooth ride the entire time. We were even graced with an eagle nest and eagle sighting!
