5.0Mount Battie(1.813 reviews) - Went on a foggy day and normal day Mountains
Mount Battie and its hundred-year-old tower is the highest point of Camden Hills State Park. You can reach the summit by following a 1.2-mile winding trail through the forest, where you'll be treated to commanding views of Camden Harbor and Penobscot Bay, especially from the top of the tower. Try to spot Mount Battie and the tower along a cruise tour of Maine's coast. While you're there, Camden Hills State Park is also great for hikes along its 25-mile trail system, mountain biking, and horseback riding, as well as snow sports in the colder months. You can even camp overnight. – TripadvisorSee more..

4.5Mt. Apatite(25 reviews) - ROCK AHOLIC Mountains
I had to literally drag my wife out of the rock pits on 2 different occasions. She would have been there until 10 or 11 pm and we would have needed SEARCH and RESCUE. She is a Rock HOUND / AHOLIC. If you are coming to get rich forget it. If you want to enloy nature and take something home (we took enough mica rocks to make a merry go round) and do geocaching and try your luck in the quarry ponds come on upSee more..
One of the most beautiful places I’ve been. The hike in was steep-ish (I don’t recall which trail we took). Lots of spots for tents. It would be nice if someone marked them on a map, because a few of the best are tucked away. We also took the trail around the entire lake, which is overgrown and hard to follow at times, but has stunning views. See more..
Ira Mountain is located off Route 27 between Kingfield and Stratton. With an elevation of 1,950 ft. and beautiful rock work, the mountain provides a 200° view of the surrounding mountaintops. Located along the Maine High Peaks Scenic Byway, Ira Mountain is an ideal location for enjoying a picnic or viewing a sunset. At the top of the scenic road, you will have breathtaking views of Mt. Abraham, Sugarloaf, the Canadian Mountains, Big and small Bigelow range, Poplar and Claybrook mountains. In addition to the views, there is an amphitheater with picnic table space as well. There is wheelchair access to the scenic view so everyone can enjoy it. While visiting you might be lucky enough to see some of the wildlife which includes moose, deer, fox, bobcats and rare birds. Just minutes from Sugarloaf 4 seasons mountain resort boasting the most skiing terrain in the east. Sugarloaf also features Gary Player designed golf course rated among the top courses in New England.See more..
I've hiked up Streaked twice, both with children as young as 6. Hand holding is recommended for the little ones when you get to the granite face. I definitely wouldn't do this on a wet or icy day, but otherwise, it's a great hike - challenging for sure, but short enough that you can stop if (when) needed and still be up and down in an hour or so. If I lived close by, I'd visit all the time - excellent exercise, beautiful view, low bush blueberries everywhere in August too!See more..

4.5Douglas Mountain(7 reviews) - Beautiful at the top Mountains • Hiking Trails
We made it! Took this old couple (mid sixties) an hour to climb but we did it! Very nice walk, it was mid seventy and we took our time. Sometimes steep but doable for semi active couple. Be sure to put bug spray first. Beautiful at the top. Only about 25 minutes back.See more..
My friends, my husband and I drove most the way to the summit, but parked a good 20 minute walk from the top. We got out and walked the rest of the way up. You could probably drive further if you had a truck, but it's always good to get out and get some exercise. At the top there's a small tower you can climb up the steps and get a better view of the surrounding area. It's a lovely spot to have a small picnic and just enjoy the fresh air. There is a (cell?) tower at the top which is a minor obstruction, but you can go into the forest behind it and find another outlook that hides the tower from view.See more..
