4.5Maine Beer Company(268 reviews) - Great visit Monday: 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM Breweries
Definitely make reservations on their website ahead of time and you won't be disappointed! I heard many people just show up and were upset over the wait, but it was a Friday around dinner time so that's to be expected. Especially at a very popular brewery. In Pennsylvania we pay $18-$20+ per one bottle of Maine Beer. I was almost thinking of skipping this brewery bc I thought it would be too expensive. But to my surprise, they only charge $6.50 to around 8.50 per bottle at the brewery. I was shocked... So our local places in Pennsylvania are really marking this beer up more than I ever expected. So needless to say we bought quite a bit to take home. I can't see myself purchasing it locally in PA again. Everyone working was super nice and helpful and offered suggestions. We really enjoyed our time there. We also ordered a pizza with onions and the cheese bread sticks. Both items came out within minutes of ordering them. Everything was good and we highly recommend visiting. See more..

Sought out this little gem on a rainy Sunday afternoon and what a pleasant surprise! A good turnout for a Sunday afternoon with some live music to boot! Great brews and friendly, knowledgable staff, we will be back! See more..
This is a hyper casual venue at the end of a dirt road, with outside fire pits, disc golf, and live music. Children and dogs are encoraged. And you don’t have to leash either of them! at sundown, the glowing lights and burning fire pits make you feel like you’re at an outdoor festival. Best of all is the beer and the pizza. Their beer is famous, but their pizza features one of the best crusts in Maine. And there are dozens of picnic tables to hunker down at. Friday nights tend to be more quiet, Saturdays can be much busier. Don’t go with any sense of being in a rush. Expect dogs everywhere.See more..

4.0Baxter Brewing Company(50 reviews) - Atmosphere, Beers, and Games Monday: 11:30 AM - 9:00 PM Breweries
I visited on a Saturday early evening for beers and apps with friends. I ordered the Maine Huts & Trails (MHT) which is an awesome lager that denotes some money to a great cause. Friends of mine weren’t aren’t beer drinkers but they had Prosecco on draft for those people. I ordered tenders and fries along with the turkey club with tots. Both meals were good. The atmosphere and service of Baxter was great to include lots of games. Night time in and outside of the brewery is lit up with a lot of beautiful lights in the old mill building. Definitely worth a visit.See more..
4.5Banded Brewing Company(42 reviews) - Why go to Portland? Monday: Spent 1-2 hours Breweries
I got a flight of the Convergent Evolution saison, the fruited Charms and Hexes, the Pepperell pilsner, and the Aglow (stout with cocoa and peppermint), and they were all great. They then gave me a sample of their cold brew Jolly Woodsman coffee stout made with espresso from Speckled Ax coffee in Portland that was fantastic. Nice atmosphere, great service.See more..

5.0Island Dog Brewing(19 reviews) - Awesome beer selection at a family friendly establishment Monday: Breweries
Look for the waiving street sign and travel to the right and around to the back of the buildings to enjoy some great beer. We enjoyed a flight of 4 beers at Island Dog this weekend. Unique varieties ensure something everyone will enjoy. The owners operate the brewery themselves and have done a great job. There are games to keep the kids busy if you want to drop in with the family giving the place a fun and friendly vibe. We bought a 4-pack to bring home, including the Beer Called Blue for me! And the artwork on the cans is beautiful! And you can order from Otto's Pizza right there for delivery to the premises.See more..

I ended up here as a stop in a day long birthday celebration. I was surprised to find the building after driving through a quiet residential part of south portland. I arrived with my group around 3pm on a Saturday. It was crowded, all tables were taken except for the one we nabbed. The atmosphere was very chill. The staff was friendly. There was a really nice variety of beers. I'm totally with the other reviewer, some snacks to purchase would be a great addition. We'll definitely pack our own food next time. Looking forward to returning.See more..

This brewery is hidden away in sleepy New Gloucester. It’s about 30 minutes northwest of Portland and worth the trip out. They have a great facility, with a food truck just outside the back door. 4.0Marsh Island Brewing(4 reviews) - Campfire and Beer Monday: 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Breweries
MIB is easy to miss since its just down the hill past the main intersection in Orono when traveling east toward Old Town. The facing building wall still has car repair signage. There is outdoor seating and propane fire pits. The interior is small, but adequate for a startup operation. MIB has been in business about 3 years. There are panini-type melts available to go with the very good craft beers. The are typically 10-12 varieties available, from Pils to IPAs and experimental offerings (peanut butter milk stout). The DDH IPAs are particularly flavorful and aromatic. This is not a restaurant, but rather a place for a snack, a beer and good conversation!See more..

Blaze Brewing replaced the former Dirigo Brewery that was here a few years back. I got a flight of the Brunchside raspberry/cranberry sour, the Irish dry stout Sir Beefy (named after the owner's dog), and the Backshore sour (blood orange and passion fruit). They were all great. Nice ambiance in a renovated brick mill, and the view of the Saco river and falls is great. They have wood-fired pizza in addition to other tempting items on their menu, and their selection of tap beers was impressive.See more..

4.5Fluvial Brewing(2 reviews) - Great beer and great view! Breweries
Went here with some girlfriends while visiting Maine. We made a reservation in one of their bubble domes and it was a great experience! We felt safe and very cozy. The beers were great and we enjoyed almost all of their snack offerings from the popcorn flight, pretzels with beer cheese and charcuterie board. And I can’t forget the staff! They were SO attentive and friendly. We will be back for sure!See more..
What a great place!! The beer is phenomenal! It's great to have a brewery that does more than IPA's. They have great reds, a flavorful brown, and a delicious winter, just to name a few. The bartender's/brewer's are very knowledgeable about the beers and they even taught me how to play cribbage. The clientele are laid back and very friendly. The atmosphere is cozy to the point that I feel I'm at home. They serve homemade warm pretzels with pub beer cheese and mustard which are to die for. I am hoping that they offer a full menu in the future. See you there!See more..
I've been to the other Definitive Brewing places in Portland and Kittery, so I had to check this one out. I had their Euphoric Nights double fruited sour ale (raspberry, pineapple, hazelnut and vanilla) and it was delicious. The beer garden is only a few yards from the the beach's main hub and is a nice respite from the crowds and the noise -- there was a nice breeze coming in off the ocean, streaming music, and board games. There are several picnic tables under a canopy and additional seating with umbrellas in the far corner (see pics). Food is also available from High Tides Food Bar (burgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, fries), and there's a large bathroom with several stalls (unisex, which is a little weird but it's better than nothing). I found the prices a bit higher than Definitive's other tasting rooms, but it's OOB, so no big surprise there.See more..
4.5Definitive Brewing Company - Kittery(2 reviews) - Welcome addition to sea coast beer scene. I’d say the strongest in terms of many styles AND quality Breweries
When I lived in Maine, Definitive Portland was 10 min from my house. Pick a style, they do them all very well. My favorite brewer in a talented state for breweries! The Kittery location is smaller (fewer taps/seats), but they offer can pours as well. Josh was friendly and very informative. Excited to have this place closer to me in CT! I’ll be back whenever I’m in the area!See more..

5.0Waterville Brewing Company(1 review) - Cold river, cold beer Spent 1-2 hours Breweries Waterville is an up and coming community, and this new addition is being welcomed with open arms. I visited during one of their “soft openings” and was very pleasantly surprised. The IPA was very smooth and was the best I’ve had in a long time. The location is in the old Hathaway shirt factory, right on the river. It was awesome to see the parking lot full again and a lot of people enjoying the great beer!See more..
5.0Lucky Pigeon Brewing Co.(1 review) - Craft beer that tastes good AND is good for you! Breweries
Lucky Pigeon is known as Maine's first dedicated gluten-free brewery. Its name comes from two of the founders, who share the last name of Pigeon (in case you're wondering). I got a flight of their American stout (Stage Island), their Kay'Lee Irish red ale, and their brown ale Little Brown Job. They were all great. Their spacious but cozy tasting room is an attractive mix of industrial and historic -- lots of red brick, wood floor, high ceilings, nice decor, and stunning large windows. The seating includes comfortable booths and two bars, one of which faces the brewing tanks. Friendly service, cool merchandise, no food but you can bring your own in. This is a nice addition to Biddeford's other breweries.See more..
4.0Sacred Profane Brewery And Tankpub(1 review) - Known as the first tankpub in North America. Monday: 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Breweries
So, they only make two beers: dark and light lager. They also offer a mix of the two that are layered one on top of the other. I had the mix, and it was very good. I also had the schnitzel, which was also very good. The owner and staff were welcoming, and the copper tanks that you see as you enter the place are pretty cool.See more..
