    Walker's Point image
Walker's Point is the picturesque oceanfront estate in Kennebunkport that's been a summer retreat for the Bush family for decades, including former President George H.W. Bush. Though the estate is still a private residence of the Bush family and off-limits, you can stop by Blowing Cave Park on Ocean Avenue and the overlook to catch a glimpse of the stunning property and enjoy the crashing waves against the rocky coast. It's worth a stop if you're taking the scenic drive along the coast, where you'll be able to spot other beautiful seafront villas. – Tripadvisor See more..

    Old Canada Scenic Byway image
From the Canadian Border with Sandy Bay Township Maine East to Moose River Maine, there nothing but wilderness along this stretch of road for 10 miles. Next town is Jackman, 17 miles from Canada. The Scenic Byway heads East in Jackman towards Rockwood which is about 30 miles of total wilderness up over a mountain pass. Beyond Rockwood another 20 miles is Greenville with a few restaurants and stores that are typical for a small town. Only drive this route in good weather. See more..

Well, I'll add my two cents to the previous two reviews, Mainemountainbear and MaineMountainOwl, who are the same reviewer, by the way, and who writes very informative reviews. I drove Route 113 from Standish to Fryeburg and it was a beautiful trip -- lots of great forest and mountain views, farms, pocket cemeteries, lakes and ponds, rustic homes and barns and country churches and other stunning historic architecture, etc. I found that it's the simplest and most scenic route to take from Saco, my neck of the woods (or seashore), to the White Mountains area. 8. 4.0 Million Dollar View (1 review)
    - Known as the "million dollar view" - worth every penny
Spent More than 3 hours Scenic Drives
Driving on US Hwy 1 between Danforth and Orient, Maine, you find two viewpoints, each with their own parking lots about 1 mile or so apart from each other. The first, closer to Danforth, shows the view to the West, across a vast expanse of Maine all the way to Mt Katahdin. There are also a number of static displays that show the history of the area, and the various explorers that crisscrossed the area. Continuing to drive from Danforth towards Orient, there will be a second viewpoint (and a place to park) showing the view to the East - since Hwy 1 parallels the US - Canadian border, the view to the East covers the Grand Lake and East Grand Lake that sits astride the border between these two great nations. We were told about the view as being worth the trip. On a free Saturday (with good weather) we decided to check it out. All I can say is that it was worth the drive to see it. See more..
