  1. 4.5 Harbor Fish Market (103 reviews)
    - Nostalgia has the aroma of fish!
    Farmers Markets

They have a mix and match oyster section. They are 1.99 each! It reminded me of the days when I used to go to the fish market with my grandmother in Boston's North End. Fish on ice and help yourself . I hated it when I was younger but this place broguht back memories. We could not purchase anything because it would not keep in the heat (and I was NOT putting it in my backpack). But I did notice that they had a huge bucket of ice for customers to put in with their purchase as they walked out the door. Do not miss this market. It really takes you back to a time when specialty stores were a way of life and everything was not located in aisle 5! See more..

    Thurston and Peters Sugarhouse image
We stopped here during our tour of the area's sugar shacks on Maine Maple Sunday. The line for their delicious maple soft serve ice cream was long, but it was worth the wait. The grounds are beautiful here. It was interesting to see the tubing network that transports the sap from the maple trees into the sugar shack. One of the owners also explained the syrup processing from beginning to end, which was kind of fascinating. There's a lot of work that goes into the liquid gold that is maple syrup. See more..

We have been coming to Bob’s for 20 years for our supply of maple syrup, maple candy, maple popcorn and so much more. The staff are fun and friendly, the selection of gifts varied, but most importantly, the maple syrup is fantastic. We get a gallon for our own family, and as gifts for friends and family. 10. 5.0 Willow Pond Farm (1 review)
    - Old Fashioned Apple Picking
Spent 1-2 hours Farms • Farmers Markets
    Willow Pond Farm image
I love this farm. I have been apple picking each fall at Willow Pond Farm for the last 20 years with my boys!! The apples are low spray which means they spray once in the spring. There is a lot of space to picnic, climb trees and run around. It is very relaxed and fun. Since I have moved to Boston, I have returned just to go apple picking here. I suppose it is the memories of my little boys climbing the trees and tossing the apples down to fill our great big basket for apple sauce, pies and eating. My big boys still do the same. This is the one activity that neither hesitates to accompany me. There are several varieties of apples depending on the time in the fall one wishes to pick and the orchard is organized and labeled so it is easy to find the variety you wish to pick. I am not sure if you need to bring your own bags because I have always had my own. If you pick into something large (like a basket), have them weigh it at the farmstead first. Apples are sold by the pound. There is also a farm stand with organic fall produce, grown on site. I usually leave with a pumpkin, apple cider and a few other veggies. Jill, the owner, is ever present at the stand or the cider presses. If you are local, she runs a summer CSA. See more..

Now if you want absolutely the best fruits and vegetables - and I mean really good - you have to hit York Corner Gardens and talk with David, the proprietor.
