Mount Battie, Maine, United States

5.0 (1.813 reviews) Spent Ranking #1 in Maine Mountains

Went on a foggy day and normal day

Mount Battie and its hundred-year-old tower is the highest point of Camden Hills State Park. You can reach the summit by following a 1.2-mile winding trail through the forest, where you'll be treated to commanding views of Camden Harbor and Penobscot Bay, especially from the top of the tower. Try to spot Mount Battie and the tower along a cruise tour of Maine's coast. While you're there, Camden Hills State Park is also great for hikes along its 25-mile trail system, mountain biking, and horseback riding, as well as snow sports in the colder months. You can even camp overnight. – Tripadvisor

    Jaw dropping beautiful!
The auto road is an easy way to get a view that is amazing. Camden park costs 6$ , 2$ for seniors but so worth it. We drove up walked around , then drove down to one of the parking lots and hiked up the other trail. I was unsure after reading reviews if I wanted to do the hike, I have some issues with back pain, but it was fine. There were lots of older people as well as families. I would recommend reading up on the trails and know your limit, we did a moderate trail Megunticook #10 on trail map,to Adam’s lookout. We also went early so not to hot. Dress appropriately, bring water and you should be fine. I would say it was fairly easy most of the way, few spots more challenging but not extreme, I am not a hiker. Bring a picnic for the best views around.

    Beautiful views
You can choose to park your car and hike or pay $6 per person to go up and park up the mountain. Would guess that it takes almost an hour to hike up. We choose the last option, drive the car up (due to back issues) Beautiful views!!!
