What a beautiful Unique Beach!
Make sure to go at both Low and High Tides... 2 totally different experiences. My daughter and I went early morning and the sand was so wide, hardly anyone on the beach. Then went back at high tide and the river was full, everyone tubing and hardly any sand. It was crazy how it changed so much from the morning to afternoon. So fun. It is cold, but there are unexplained warm pockets. The only thing to know is that we went tubing from the river towards the ocean at high tide, and the life guards there told us to get out. At first, it scared us because we thought maybe there were sharks or something. But after we got out, he told us...that at high tide....they only let you go to a certain point so that you won't get swept out to sea and have problems getting back. Just something for everyone to be aware of. It is good they are watching and are keeping people safe.

WOW! The 4th of July fireworks were a-maz-ing!
We love heading to Ogunquit. This was our first 4th of July experience. Minus the difficulty and expense of parking, it was a great day. Beach on one side, estuary on the other side . . .Lots of cool shops nearby. The fireworks display was above and beyond any local fireworks I've ever seen. The entire 30 minutes was like a finale over and over again. Plus the Coast Guard band was playing and later on, there was a DJ right near the beach. I would totally recommend Ogunquit on the 4th of July . . .or anytime during our beautiful Maine summer.
