Wells beach in autumn

This review is for an October stay. I cant imagine the summer crowds, as we are retired and enjoy the off season. We stayed at the Lafayette hotel group 3 different times. The beach right outside the door is perfect, the people minimal, our room and ocean view perfect! Be sure to eat at The Steak House. An amazing and critic worthy establishment and a lovely memorable dinner. Sunrises over the ocean here are simply brilliant, and the crisp fall days are spectacular. Wells Diner is a perfect breakfast spot, and the little adjoining gift shop is fun and reasonably priced. Perkins cove is not far, and a walking trail is the best memory accompanying a lobster roll and a blueberry soda. Many book stores, antique shops and fun things to see in this entire area. Each year we discover new beautiful spots to marvel over .Maine in fall is a true travel experience not to be overlooked.

Gorgeous beach with plenty of sand and shore.
This was my first visit to Wells Beach. It's mostly private homes on the beach so there's a sense of serenity. No need to worry about high rise condos or hotels here. Lovely Atlantic Ocean with powdery sand and terrific for walking. If the water had been warmer I would have swam. There's a fee for parking but well worth it, one can easily spend a few hours here breathing in the salt air and admiring the beauty of the area.

Beautiful beach … took sometime to discover the parking area though.
The beach was beautiful and very spacious (especially at low tide). The lifeguards were attentive and very friendly. The only reason I am giving it a 4 is .. that it was not clear where parking was available. Luckily we followed a very long road ‘away from’ the hotels and what looked to be parking and finally the long road ended in a large parking area that was pay by the hour. The parking area had change areas and bathrooms which was a bonus. Then a walk to the beach along break waters. Enjoyed the day and the waves :)
