4.5Angel Oak Tree(2.392 reviews) - 400-500 Year Old Live Oak Tree Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks • Geologic Formations
While visiting the McLeod Plantation and seeing their 300 year old live oak, we were told we should visit the nearby Angle Oak Tree to see one even older. We saw claims online that it was 600 years old, but the placards on the property indicated it is more likely to be 400-500 years old. The parking is relatively limited - just a dozen or so spots off the road. We were simply lucky that one spot was available when we arrived. Placards state that this is the oldest live oak tree east of the Mississippi River. It was, indeed, huge and majestic, so it is worth 15 minutes of someone's time to drop by when in the area.See more..

A National Historic Landmark, the Nathaniel Russell House Museum was completed in 1808 by merchant Nathaniel Russell. The home’s graceful, free-flying, three-story staircase is an architectural marvel and the elegant interiors with elaborate plasterwork, geometrically shaped rooms, formal gardens and collection of 18th-century decorative and fine art speak to the wealth of Charleston’s elite in the early days of the American Republic. Restored to its original splendor using forensic analysis and cutting-edge conservation technology by our curatorial staff, we ensure the highest standards of old-world expertise to replicate the finishes, fixtures and textiles appropriate for this 200-year old townhouse. 4.5Aiken-Rhett House(1.692 reviews) - Charleston's high-class history Tuesday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Historic Sites
The Aiken-Rhett House (c. 1820) is one of the best-preserved townhouse complexes in the nation. Vastly expanded by Governor and Mrs. William Aiken, Jr. in the 1830s and again in the 1850s, the house and its outbuildings include a kitchen, the original quarters of the enslaved, carriage block and back lot. When Historic Charleston Foundation assumed ownership in 1995, we adopted a preserved-as-found preservation approach, meaning the structure and contents are left in an “as-found” state, including furniture, architecture and finishes that have not been altered since the mid 19th century. While many dependency buildings in Charleston have been demolished or adapted, the Aiken-Rhett slave quarters – with their original paint, floors and fixtures – survive virtually untouched since the 1850s, allowing visitors the chance to better comprehend the every-day realities of the enslaved Africans who lived and labored here. A 45-minute audio tour is available, last tour at 4pm.See more..

4.5McLeod Plantation Historic Site(1.272 reviews) - Do the tour guide Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks
Established in 1851, McLeod Plantation has borne witness to some of the most significant periods of Charleston's - and our nations - history. Today McLeod Plantation is an important 37-acre Gullah/Geechee heritage site that has been carefully preserved in recognition of its cultural and historical significance. The grounds include a riverside outdoor pavilion, a sweeping oak allée, and the McLeod Oak, which is thought to be more than 600 years old. It is a place like no other, not frozen in time but vibrant, dynamic, and constantly evolving, where the winds of change whisper through the oak trees and voices from the past speak to all who pause to listen. McLeod Plantation was built on the riches of sea island cotton - and on the backs of enslaved people whose work and culture are embedded in the Lowcountry's very foundation. It is a living tribute to the men and women and their descendants that persevered in their efforts to achieve freedom, equality, and justice. All of their stories - black and white, enslaved and free - are given their due. After years of careful research and restoration, McLeod Plantation Historic Site invites visitors to embark upon an in-depth exploration of the lives of those people whose stories are essential to understanding Charleston's complex past and helped shape who we, as a nation, are today.See more..

Small zoo. Took less then an hour but if you want can go again. Bring a water vessel. Drinks are ridiculous price and there a water fountain to fill up. Animal displays are good. 4.5Fluor Field at the WestEnd(780 reviews) - GREENVILLE DRIVE Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Arenas & Stadiums
We are new to the Greenville area, and decided to attend a minor league game. I can't stand for long periods of time, or walk long distances, so we took my ECV scooter. We parked at County Square and caught the trolley. The driver was so nice, helping us maneuver onto the trolley. Once at the game, I had no difficulty finding our place. On the Drive online site, I had secured a handicapped seat for my scooter and a regular chair for my husband (21.00). It was a great game between the Greenville Drive and Rome. The drive ended up winning, and there were awesome fireworks after the game. During the game, we met a nice man who worked there. Bob gave my husband and I great advice on various things to do and places to go to in the area. And after the fireworks, the same trolley driver made a point to get my husband and I on the first trolley, back to our car. See more..

I have been visiting Aiken for 47 years. I never considered visiting these lovely gardens. I was overwhelmed at the peaceful feeling flowing from the huge canopy of giant live oaks. July is not the Camelia time, but regardless, the huge variety of trees and shrubs is amazing. Many of the trees lining the brick pathways are identified by placards..with audio info available by calling a number. Most interesting was the stables with statues of famous horses and often more famous owners. Even one very fast white male has its story told. One disappointment was the carriage museum being closed. And the garden is free admission.See more..

4.5BMW Zentrum(411 reviews) - Awesome tour and tour guides Tuesday: 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM Speciality Museums
My wife booked our tour way in advance and still couldn't get the two hour tour in the afternoon. We took the one hour tour in the morning. You start in the BMW museum where they break you up into smaller groups. You are driven to the assembly plant on a really nice motor coach. At the factory you are given safety glasses and earbuds so you can hear the tour guide while you are on the factory floor. The tour through the assembly line lasts about an hour with the guide giving you information about each part of the assembly process. It is amazing how organized this plant is. They make you turn off your phones and no cameras, video or pictures are allowed on the tour, but you are free to take as many as you like in the museum. If you ever get the chance to take this tour, do it, it is well worth the money. Super educational and will give you a new perspective on how automobiles are made.See more..

4.0Bon Secours Wellness Arena(388 reviews) - Wonderful venue for a great concert. Tuesday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Arenas & Stadiums • Civic Centres
This is the first time we have been to thus arena. Pleased with parking as we arrived about 90 minutes before the concert. The staff was really nice. Entry was a breeze. We typically get seats on the floor in the first few rows but bought tickets later than usual. We actually like our seats in section 103 row dd. The venue was very clean and I was impressed that there was an attendant in the rest rooms. Nice touch. Disappointed with the Pepsi product as they are behind the times as wishing they had COKE line with COKE Zero. Concessions were basics nothing special. The arena was very nice and we enjoyed seeing Mercy Me. We actually booked another concert while we were at the arena to see TobyMac in January. Great time!See more..
4.5Sea Screamer(385 reviews) - Definitely do this! Boat Tours
This was the highlight of our vacation! The staff was incredibly nice, attentive, and informative. The boat ride was fun - the wind felt cool and the mist from the water was nice. We saw at least a dozen dolphins! The boat was full but didn't feel uncomfortable. We sat on the front row and it was great but next time we might try sitting at the very front of the boat. The boat's captain was entertaining and made sure to give each side of the boat equal dolphin viewing time. All ages were on board and everyone seemed to really enjoy the trip. My family loved it and would definitely go again. I would advise arriving early so you can choose the best place to sit. We arrived 45 minutes early and were probably around 30th in line and so we were able to sit under the cover (in the shade).. Anyone after we arrived had to sit in full sun.See more..
I was in Columbia in July, but needed to get in a 13 mile run. The humidity is everywhere that time of year, but the park let me stay in the shade, accompanied by scenic views and a pretty flat course. Saved my life.See more..
4.5Caesars Head State Park(376 reviews) - Amazing Mountain views Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM State Parks
We picnicked here at Caesar's Head on Memorial Day and it was a great spot to eat lunch, and enjoy the cooler temps in the mountains. Just and FYI, you'll have to pack in and pack out all of your trash if you decide to picnic here, as there are no trash receptacles. The overlook is awesome, and definitely a place to take in the beauty surrounding you. The walk around the overlook and through the Devil's kitchen is quite short, however the Devil's Kitchen is very tight, so if you're afraid of small spaces it's probably not for you. The areas around the top of the mountain are beautiful and well maintained. Definitely a recommended place to come, but there isn't much to do at the top, unless you plan to hike the trails, which do come at an extra cost, and from what I know can be pretty strenuous.See more..

Daufuskie is a very low tech island which is why I chose it. However, that means it can be difficult to understand what you will need if you are staying on the island and how to transport it from the mainland. Tour Daufuskie knew my needs before I did and when I called to rent a golf cart, they arranged pick up from the docks to the house we were staying at for us and all our luggage and groceries we were transporting as well. I also took a history tour with them while I stayed on the island and the tour guide was knowledgeable and showed us things we had missed for three days on our own exploration. When I ran short on gas mid week, they brought more gas out to our house and fueled the cart for us. I wouldn't hesitate to book again with them.See more..
