Been wanting to visit the Poinsett Bridge for a while, but had to work it into an extended visit to the upstate area. Glad we did. Visited in October 2022. Beautiful, peaceful spot. We were there in the middle of the week and were surprised at how many visitors came and went during our visit. See more..

This is the only covered bridge in the state of SC. It is a part of my family history, My great great grandfather was responsible for getting the bridge built. My grandmother used to tell us of all the stories of the moonshining and bootlegging that her family and other's were a part of when she was living. You must see this awesome bridge, open now only to foot traffic. A huge part of SC history. The remnants of one of the grist mills still is there. The bridge is now 112 years old and is in the National Historical Register. You will not be disappointed! See more..
