What a wonderful time we had on the sunset cruise. Sheryl guided us around part of the lake sharing the history, geology, and info about the plant and animal life along the shore. There was an opportunity to swim in a small cove which has a waterfall. It was a relaxing time spent on a gorgeous lake topped off with a lovely sunset over the mountains which reflected on the water. Just beautiful.See more..
Daufuskie is a very low tech island which is why I chose it. However, that means it can be difficult to understand what you will need if you are staying on the island and how to transport it from the mainland. Tour Daufuskie knew my needs before I did and when I called to rent a golf cart, they arranged pick up from the docks to the house we were staying at for us and all our luggage and groceries we were transporting as well. I also took a history tour with them while I stayed on the island and the tour guide was knowledgeable and showed us things we had missed for three days on our own exploration. When I ran short on gas mid week, they brought more gas out to our house and fueled the cart for us. I wouldn't hesitate to book again with them.See more..

We had an excellent adventure with Billy and Nick who guided us down Cedar Creek in Congaree National Park. The kayaks were top of the line with comfortable seats on top and they provided lifejackets and even protective phone cases for the trip. The vibe was awesome. Billy and Nick are very knowledgeable about the Park including the history and wildlife. They were always pointing out interesting things along the way. We took the tour that takes you through the Pinapolis Locks. The Captain was so informative and the ride through the lock was amazing. You start out on the Tailrace Canal and ride over to the Lock where the water level rises 75 feet and you are then in Lake Moultrie. It truly is an engineering marvel. The trip was only offered in October this year and we are so happy we got to go on this amazing experience.Either before or after the trip be sure to have a meal at Gilligan’s Restaurant!See more..

Boating on Lake Murray is a wonderful way to spend the day to escape the heat of Columbia. We have rented a pontoon from Better Boating in Irmo several times and every time we have had a great experience! The staff is Professional, very friendly and helpful. We have rented a double kayak the last two years on our anniversary week. We enjoy paddling around South Cove on Lake Keowee. This year we wore new life vests that were very comfortable and designed with kayaking in mind. The service at the lake was excellent as well. When I called Blueway adventures, I had a dual purpose: I wanted very specifically to visit the graves of my ancestors who are buried on Church Island in the middle of Lake Marion AND I wanted a fun activity for my extended family that would make getting together fun for all ages. Blueway Adventures delivered! When I called, Deb was so helpful and flexible with setting up the tour (and with sharing area historical resources)--perfect since I was organizing the trip for my extended family! Once we were on site, they prepared all of us with both safety and fun in mind. The activity was perfect for novices, seniors, children, and everyone in between. Added perks included lots of information about the habitat, and once on Church Island, Deb pulled out her camera and took a series of pictures so we can always remember our adventure! I absolutely love booking with AquaFun! I booked with them for the first time in 2016 and even to this day they still remain very professional, fun, and reasonably priced. My friends and I went out this past Saturday with Captain Tyler and we all had the times of our lives. Captain Tyler was such a blast and before we ended the tour, we booked again for July! It's that great of a time. What I like the most about these tours is that everything is on our time during the time that we book for. The Captain was super easy going and truly took care of us! Took a 4 hour kayak tour on the lake and explored the lovely lakeside scenery. Easy to book over the internet although I just showed up and rented. Good equipment that with life jacket and small waterproof box included in the rental price. Remember to bring drinks and food.See more..

Our guided canoe tour at Congaree N.P. was amazing! Andy was a very friendly and informative guide - he knew all the ins and outs of the swamp, where wildlife was most likely to be spotted, etc. Water levels were high during our visit, so it was especially helpful to have someone keep us from getting lost or in a tight spot. Booking the tour and getting to the canoe launch site was very easy. Being out on the water is so peaceful and easily the best way to see the park. Worth spending the money in a park that is otherwise free (but limited by what you can see from the trails/boardwalks). We highly recommend a tour with Palmetto Outdoor, especially in the spring when the forest is starting to come alive!See more..
Chris was helpful as we arrived late for our float trip. The location where you drop off your car is about 1 hour and 30min from Charleston. The option for kayaking and canoeing is a 10 mile day trip float. We started at 11am and finished around 4pm. The river flows fast and there are not many places to get out in the first 5 miles. After that several sand banks were available but by then your pretty tired. I recommend this for adults but for little kids it is too long. Make sure to bring plenty of food and drinks. Water was still pretty cold, but for summer months it should be much warmer.See more..

Recently took a girls weekend getaway trip to Beaufort and took a kayaking excursion with The Kayak Farm. Eric was great! He was incredibly patient with my two friends who had no idea what they were doing, but also very informative and entertaining as he shared stories of kayaking and the low country. Dolphins swam nearby and the weather was perfect at the end of September when we went. A really fun day and an outdoor activity that anyone can do! I would definitely recommend working with Eric and The Kayak Farm if you are interested in kayaking in Beaufort!See more..
Jocassee Adventures is a really nice place to get hooked up for fun on, and in, beautiful Lake Jocassee - a perfect mountain lake. I've personally visited 5 of the waterfalls on this lake and even kayaked behind one of them! I mentioned in the lake because these friendly folks are the ones to go to for SCUBA diving in the area (Lake Jocassee and Lake Keowee depending on the time of year). It's always a treat to enjoy the scenery during the boat ride across the lake to the dive site and then slip into the cool water in the shadow of the cliff wall. If you're not SCUBA certified but would like to be they'll be glad to get you in one of their classes. They also have complete equipment rentals and compressors for air and nitrox fills. I also want to mention that these folks are super-friendly and helpful which is why they earn my repeat business year after year.See more..

My sister, 7 year-old niece and I went on a guided hike with Ashley from Phoenix Adventures last weekend. It was a wonderful experience. He selected where and how long we would hike based on our needs, skills, and desires. Not only did he pick the perfect spot, he taught us what we need to know to go back on our own. He was very patient with my niece and made it fun for her. This may have been our first trip, but it will not be our last with Ashley.
