This place was cute and perfect for those with young children. This was completely outside perfect to entree weather. There was live music, plenty of tables, a play area for young kids along with hay rides. We had a flight of cider and it was good! We were entertained watching the kids play and the chicken and cat wondering about. It was a nice place and I would go back.See more..
4.5McLeod Farms(78 reviews) - Nice stop on the way out to the coast Farms
This place was a nice one to get out and stretch your legs. We came during the winter so there really wasn't much to do outside with the farm like I would assume there is in spring/summer/fall, but that said they still had some great stuff inside. The kids got a kick out of the free strawberry samples and the free hot chocolate. I ordered a peach empanada which was very good, but be warned they are piping hot, so don't just bite right into it unaware. They also had a small but free classic car museum next to the shop that we explored for a few minutes. The kids enjoyed that a good bit.See more..

This is a wonderful experience! It's a rewarding experience for so many people! If you like food and care about the farm-to-table movement, this'll be a great fit for you. The tour is informative and entertaining. Miss Susie is a natural educator, and everyone I met were kind, compassionate, good-hearted, decent people. And smart people, too, able to answer any questions you can think of! The fresh dairy products are really amazing. Conventionally produced products can't compare. Happy Cow Creamery is both a glimpse to the past and the vision for the future of agriculture.See more..
We visited on a very cold, rainy day in January. This lovely couple greeted us and opened the stores for us. There were no others visiting at that time in the morning. Lovely peacocks and goats. We went up to see the massive train set. We were amazed at the time and detail put into this endeavor. Wow!! The goat’s milk products are wonderful. We will be going back soon.See more..

We were visiting friends and had to pick berries. I wish I lived here! Tons of great tasting blue berries. The blackberries were very large and the grapes looked divine and I wish I was prepared to cut them. Bring your own bucket. They have theirs to pick and weigh in bit to take home you kinda need your own (they may have cardboard to give you). Read their website prior to going!!! They prefer cash. Sin bucket was hilarious.See more..
5.0Old McCaskill's Farm(15 reviews) - Relaxing at the farm Spent 1-2 hours Farms
Joined some girlfriends for a night away in the bed and breakfast. Lovely home and hosts. Walking the farm and interacting with the animals made me feel like a kid again. The store offered so many wonderful things from wool blankets, cookbooks, canned goods straight from their farm to fresh farm raised meats. We got to see them pick beets, prepare and cook, can them then in the store the next day. Does not get fresher than that. Helped collect eggs and the had them as part of our delicious breakfast. Enjoyed wine on balcony overlooking their courtyard and pond. So relaxing, I felt like I had been on a long vacation instead of just a night away. Don’t miss this gem whether you stay the night or do a day trip!! Thank you for sharing your home, Kathy!!See more..
This is a beautiful location and even though I never saw anyone, the walking trail was a very nice half mile walk along the water with informational signs posted along the way. I came on a Friday around noon and it wasn't until I was leaving that I noticed the sign posting tour days and hours. Just so no one else makes the mistake, the hatchery is opened from 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday, at which time anyone can take a self guided tour. The self guided tour is great for seeing scenery, but all the fish are in buildings and I was unable to see them. Guided tours can be given Tuesday through Thursday from 8:00am to 12:00pm and 1:00pm - 3:30pm. I am assuming (12-1pm is their lunch since it is a government facility)See more..

Was VERY disappointed! We paid $13.88 for 2 tickets. Description states “We will provide baskets, bags and scissors. For the safety of our plants, please do not bring or use your own”. We received a pair of plastic child's scissors. Only the 2nd week-end of U-Pick and they were pretty picked over. The farm was not taken care of at all. Paths inbetween lavender rows were not cleared. WEAR CLOSED TOES SHOES... there are red ant mounds everywhere. Felt to me like a gimmick to get you there so she could sell her products. Not worth the time of the money. PS- you still have to pay for whatever lavender you pick.See more..

Both of my children have taken horse camp at Eden Farms, and they absolutely LOVE it! The facilities are top-notch, and the staff are incredible. Each day at horse camp has a clearly-outlined curriculum that is biblically-based. The students have a Bible verse for the day that is focused on how we treat others (including animals). They also have a craft each day, too. I can't say enough good things about this barn. It is of the highest caliber, and we are fortunate to have it in this area.See more..
5.0Metts Organix(1 review) - Bio-diverse, sustainable farming at its best Farms
A young farmer Will Metts is growing healthy produce for the Greenwood area on his farm situated at 921 Chipley Road in Greenwood, SC. This farm uses sustainable practices to grow high quality, all-natural produce. This is his third year in full-time production, and he has experienced much success and has learned how to improve his farm practices. Farming is a passion of his, and it is in his blood! Both paternal and maternal ancestors were farmers, and their respect and love of the land have been passed down to him. He would rather be no where else than outside in the fresh air working in the soil to create healthy, pesticide-free produce for the Greenwood community. Come visit him at the Uptown Market on Wednesdays or make an appointment to come out to the farm. He would love to show you around and let you see what he is doing and how he is doing it.See more..
Now I know where the Southern term “Coker or croker sack” comes from!! This self guided tour is open from 9am-6pm daily. This sits on 145 acres but you don’t tour that. You do see the cotton growing in the fields though. Me. Coker began the first cotton breeding program in the USA. They also worked with tobacco, corn, pulp wood , watermelons & more. The Coker family began the Sonoco Corporation, too. This tour site looks like an old dairy barn & has lots of displays & information inside. It is a National Historic Landmark, sometimes known as The Coker Pedigree Seed Company. If your curious about the beginning of experimental seeds, this is your place!See more..
