4.5Quaker Cemetery(36 reviews) - A lovely, peaceful, history packed burial grounds. Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Cemeteries
Back in 2008, when looking for grave plots for my wife and myself I found a pair the that were in a beautiful location. It had lovely trees very quiet historic tombstones, it was perfect. The self guided tour is fascinating. I went every Friday to place flowers on her grave and often drive around and look at the historic markers. Marie is buried just down from Little Arlington. If in Camden SC it is worth spending an hour or two driving an walking around. It is only 2 blocks or so from. 521 heading towards Sumter. Turn right as you reach Historic Camden Revolutionary War Park There is a sign pointing to it is only around 2 or 3.long blocks from 521. You will see reconstruction of parts of Lord Charles Cornwallis' fortifications.See more..

very historic cemetery in the back country of the state. Various graves from the American Revolution. It's most famous is the grave of Andrew Jackson father. Also his brother is buried here as well. The original church structure is no longer standing- but this church has some great history to it. Just seeing the old headstones is quite the site. well maintained and easy to find. A must stop if in the area exploring sites of Andrew Jacksons life.See more..

4.0Veterans Memorial Park(1 review) - Interesting Memorial to Veterans Spent < 1 hour Cemeteries There are two primary reasons one would choose to visit this site outside of the annual festival which the town holds. The first is that it lists local people who have served and given their life in service to their country. The second is that it specifically honors those who have served on one of the two Naval Vessels which have been named the Cowpens. One vessel was used during WWII and the other is currently in service. My grandfather rode the WWII aircraft carrier home from the Pacific Theater following the Japanese surrender. I always wanted to take him to the annual celebration or those that served, but I never got to do so. Therefore, I chose to visit the park to honor his service the first time I was ever in the vicinity of the City. Unfortunately, the City does little to promote or recognize the park except for during the annual event where those who served on the two vessels are invited to town to be recognized for their service.See more..
“Pay respects" to President Frank Underwood (of Netflix “House Of Cards”) at his “gravesite” in his “hometown” of Gaffney, SC. His gravesite is next to his Father’s. There are two headstones, set at the edge of a grove of trees, overlooking a small drainage swale. He is buried next to the Father he despised, not in Arlington, as he expected. See Season 3 Episode 1 and the Season 6 teaser featuring Claire Underwood. Immediately inside the Oakland Cemetary arched entrance. Look to the right (at about “2o’clock”) the two headstones are set apx 50 yards away, near a stand of tree’s, near the side road. "Frank-ophiles" will note an American Flag on his "grave", upside down a'la "House Of Cards".See more..
