We were delightfully surprised by how nice this state park was. The museum exhibits were in great condition, and the movie showed was both educational and entertaining. They offer a cellphone tour which was a first for us, and very informative. How neat to experience this living history moment and see this battleground! See more..

We visited when the visitors center was closed, but a friendly Ranger gave us a brochure and produced the Parks Passport cancellation stamp. There were two reenactors demonstrating period firearms. The trail is well laid out and easy to walk with boards to explain the progress of the battle. There is a picnic area but it was closed at the time. See more..

A well laid out path and a self-guided tour brochure makes this site a easy an interesting visit. Original trench lines and Star Fort mounds are still very visible as well as an old wagon road. A a reproduction stockade and rifle tower. A great bit of Revolutionary War history. We were pleased to see the Parks Passport book cancellation stamp was accessible even though the visitor center was closed. See more..

We have never been here before and happen to find website while searching for a place to camp around Lake Hartwell. We have pop up trailer and normally stay at KOA to have good shower facilities. This park is beautiful. Big camp sites. You are not looking in your neighbors window. Bath facilities are great. Very well maintained. Great swim beach. Lots of lakefront and Lakeview sites. Definately coming back. See more..
  6. 5.0 Nine Times Preserve (2 reviews)
    - Nine Times Preserve
    Spent 2-3 hours National Parks
Nine Times Preserve is owned by the Nature Conservancy. Trails were added in 2012. From the Cedar Rock parking lot, two seniors with a dog walked 3.4 miles. The first part of the trail is a steep uphill climb that gently meanders back down past a waterfall to a small stream that you have to cross by way of stones. It is one of the most beautifully designed trails I have ever walked. In February, there were only four green things growing that I could identify: pines, mountain laurel, moss, and ferns. But the slope of the hills, granite outcroppings, and the Blue Ridge mountains were clearly visible without the leaves on trees. See more..
