5.0The National WWII Museum(30.6k reviews)from $20.00 - Amazing Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Military Museums • Speciality Museums
The National WWII Museum is the top-rated tourist destination in New Orleans and #2 in the U.S., and an unforgettable way to experience World War II—from industrial efforts on the home front to the combat experience of the American servicemember abroad. Offering a compelling blend of sweeping narrative and poignant personal detail, the Museum features immersive exhibits, multimedia experiences, and an expansive collection of artifacts and first-person oral histories to take visitors inside the story of the war: why it was fought, how it was won, and what it means today. Beyond the galleries, the Museum offers unique access to experiential history, including an opportunity to tour and ride on an authentically restored PT-boat, tours behind the scenes to handle artifacts alongside Museum curators, and an impressive collection of restored and working macro-artifacts to discover. Open early through 1/2/18, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.See more..
Quick notes before the review! 1) Cash is a cheaper option than using a card so come prepared. 2) Consider the time of year if you are looking for alligators. This should have occurred to me, duh. The tour at Champagne’s was great fun. The tour guide Jason was knowledgeable and was very gracious about my son’s many questions. The lake itself is quite scenic and the bird life is active even in the winter. I recommend the stop!See more..
This was definitely a powerful experience and I would absolutely recommend! The church was closed due to construction, so that was a bit disappointing, but we went in the morning near opening time and it was not crowded at all. The weather was perfect. Kids 5 and under are free. We opted to rent a car on Canal street and drove. The bus tour charges for every person even though children 5 abs under are free. $75 direct through Whitney Plantation for 5 people. $257 for bus tour for 5 people because they make you pay for a child under 5, which is free through the plantation. Of course we had the cost of the rental but we could come and go as we please do it didn’t take our entire day. We grabbed lunch on the way back! It was a great time with family.See more..
Mixed modern and classical sculptures throughout the garden. It is part of the city park. For sculpture garden only it costs $5 per person. A beautiful garden. We enjoyed walked around about 1.5 miles. There is a Cafe Du Monde in the park. Great for a break after the walk.See more..
5.0LSU Tiger Stadium(899 reviews) - Chance of rain? Never Arenas & Stadiums
Okay, just because you hate LSU football, does not mean Tiger Stadium is terrible. This is like me saying Bryant-Denny sucks, just because I hate Alabama football. It is nice and so is Tiger Stadium. The biggest thing about Tiger Stadium is you have to be in it, during a game, preferably an SEC game, to understand. It becomes it own living organism. The restrooms are not great, this is true and we have whined for ages. The concessions have gotten much better, especiaily in the last couple years when they added craft beer and some better foods. If you want to get in relatively cheap, there is an area called skyline club, yes it is a nose bleed, but food is included, which is great with kids. We had season tickets in the upper deck, front row, at about the 20 yard line. What is great about the first 12 or so rows in Tiger Stadium upper deck, is that they have actual chair seating, not a metal bench, but actual chairs.See more..
Brent could not have been a nicer tour guide. A few of us had been on swamp tours before and agreed this was much more relaxing and non commercial than our previous tours. The lake was absolutely beautiful and Brent’s appreciation for the areas vegetation and wildlife was palpable. We loved discovering this beautiful part of the country. Highly Highly recommend.See more..
First time zip lining in the country and it was awesome. We had Cam and Ali and could not have had more fun!!!! They were so knowledgeable, so engaging, so FUNNY! Charisma was the word of the day for these two. Do yourself a favor and request them….you’re welcome in advance. We are definitely coming back with a larger group. Everything from the gators, the birds, the flora, the fauna, mesmerizing!!!! See more..
5.0New Orleans Airboat Tours(425 reviews) - I got to hold an alligator Tuesday: 7:30 AM - 10:00 PM Boat Tours • Eco Tours • Boat Rentals • Private Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
Our tour guide randy was awesome. You go out into the marsh via airboat. He explains the ecosystem as well as how alligators are raised there. He grabbed a 3 foot alligator out of the water and let everyone on the boat hold it safely. We saw two other alligators as well. A great ride through a very isolated spot in the bayou.See more..
5.0Airboat Tours(399 reviews) - A Must Do Tour Tuesday: 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM Cultural Tours • Historical & Heritage Tours • Boat Tours • Private Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
We recently took a tour on a smaller boat with another couple on board and Jeremy as our guide. From start to finish the experience exceeded our expectations. Check in was simple with friendly chit-chat until time to depart. Jeremy was very knowledgable and provided interesting commentary throughout. The alligators, up close, were a highlight and Jeremy found the right balance of fast and thrilling racing over the water with up close views of the vegetation and wildlife. We drove two hours out of our way to do this tour and would do it again in a second. Truly a highlight of our tripSee more..

My husband and I were visiting New Orleans for the first time and were looking for a day in the Bayou to experience that part of Louisiana. Honey Island Kayak Tours provided exactly the experience we were looking for! Mike picked us up on time from our hotel in New Orleans and provided history and restaurant suggestions on the commute. Jessica had a ton of local knowledge because she is a local who absolutely loves the land and water that we toured with her as well as its history. As a bonus, we were able to check Mississippi off our list of states that we had yet to visit. I highly recommend this tour!See more..
Went on an airboat swamp tour with Cal as our driver/tour guide with myself, and my 2 SC grandsons. I live in Lafayette, approximately 20 miles from this location, and I did not realize the abundance and diversity of cypress trees (some really, really big), and swamp plants and birds. Cal not only gave us a great ride in an air boat, but he gave us all a lot of knowledge about the history of the Atchafalaya Basin, but also of the Acadians who settled in this area. I would definitely recommend this safe, professional tour to everyone, young and old. And when you go you might meet Albert. Laissez les bon temps rouler!See more..
My elderly father and I took this tour as part of our recent adventure. We are both outdoorsmen and my dad has always been intrigued by the Cajun culture. Cap’n Billy Gaston, with his genuineness and obvious love for his Cajun heritage and way of life, made this tour more than we had ever hoped for. His excellent command of the ecology and history of the bayou, and the very close encounters with all manner of wildlife in the delta were amazing! Gators, bald eagles, ibis, heron subspecies, aquatic plants, natives trees, are only a few of the flora and fauna we were able to photograph UP CLOSE! Don’t miss this one!See more..

I was a little surprised Alex Box Stadium/Skip Bertman Field was the #1 attraction in Baton Rouge until we went here. The stadium is fantastic in purple and yellow. One of the best college baseball stadiums I have ever seen. The Head Coach Skip Bertman deserves credit. He came to LSU after 8 seasons with the University of Miami as Associate Coach where he won a National Championship.. LSU won 5 National Championships under Skip Bertman (6 in total). The National Championship Plaza is truly amazing. LSU really knows how to highlight their accomplishments. LSU has produced a lot of great players like Todd Walker, Ben McDonald, Aaron Nola and Alex Bregman. I came on a day when the players were practicing. It was neat to go onto the field afterwards. I just wished the LSU Baseball Hall of Fame was open. I would come back to see it. One day, I'd love to come watch a game here.See more..

5.0Kiroli Park(131 reviews) - Christmas at Kiroli Parks
We attended the Christmas lights in Kiroli Park drive through event. It is 10.00 to get in and they have a radio station you can set to and hear the music inside your car. There were displays featuring lights, inflatable decorations and handmade painted wooden pieces all over. It was nicely done and fun to drive through. It is not as large as Candy Cane lane but it was very well laid out and looked good. Glad to see the lights back in the park.See more..

Took my grandson and he had a ball. He was 2 1/2 and had to stay on the little kids side as they had another part of the park for older kids, but the two are next to each other. Be prepared to move and be active because the kids go in one side and exit another. You have to be able to see them all the way though, so yes it wore PawPaw out as well as the grand baby.See more..
5.0Louisiana Swamp Tours(124 reviews) - A must stop in Louisiana! Tuesday: 6:45 AM - 9:00 PM Boat Tours • Sightseeing Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours

Our family had a great time on our tour with Bryce. His smaller boat allowed us to go places in the lake and see some wildlife that a larger one would not allow, which our kids were very excited about. We were also very surprised to see how beautiful everything was. This was one of our last adventures after visiting 13 states and it was in the top 3 activities that we experienced. We would abolutely recommend Acadiana Swamp Tours to anyone visiting LA.See more..
5.0The Last Wilderness Swamp Tour(119 reviews) - Educational and fun tour Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM Boat Tours • Eco Tours • Night Tours • Private Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
We went on the tour in late April and had the tour to ourselves (myself and my 3 boys). The experience was perfect in every way. We met at Dales Trading Post at the appointed time and followed him to the launch site (plenty of parking). We got on the boat (see picture) and he told his about where we were and the outline of the tour. The boat went fast enough at times to keep you cool and we had no problem with bugs. He is a font of knowledge about but swamp and the many environmental issues facing keeping it healthy. He pointed out wildlife along the way and stopped at several points to see alligators (only on son saw one). We did see loads of bird, dragonflies, an interesting swamp spider, and learn tons about the trees and overall ecosystem of the swamp. My teen boys liked it also. We had a wonderful lunch at Carbos (about 10 min away—fresh boiled crawfish, shrimp, fried fish, okra, hush puppies—extremely local and reasonably priced). I would highly recommend.See more..
5.0Atchafalaya Welcome Center(116 reviews) - Educational and fun for kids Spent < 1 hour Visitor Centers

Kids and adults will be fascinated with the animated raccoon, alligator and alligator snapping turtle in their swamp setting who give you a taste of living in the Basin as you wait for the doors to a small theater to open. An exceptional 7-minute film introduces visitors to America's largest freshwater swamp. If you have time, wander the trails on the property. And enjoy a cup of Louisiana coffee.See more..

5.0Delaune Sailing Charters(89 reviews) - Choppy Lake pontchartrain but amazing time ! Tuesday: 9:30 AM - 7:00 PM Boat Tours • Boat Rentals
We had an amazing time with captain Rick and his mate. We were 4 girls celebrating a 30th birthday and they received us super well, calm and very educated. They would answer any questions we had about sailing. I am doing my captain license at the moment and they were just the perfect teachers. We also had a little drink at the dock at the end and just kept talking like old friends. During the sailing, rhe lake was exceptionnaly super choppy and we started being to much sea sick, so we turned back earlier than planned but they took the leftover time to do a quick tour of the bayou, which was fabulous. We saw wildlife even in winter. Fantastic crew! Thanks captain!See more..

Let me start by saying this is our second time visiting Griffin Charters. Each time is better than expectations! This last trip was with my wife, sister and son. The fishing was awesome, we hit the weather conditions and the fish activity about perfect and our guides knew exactly how and where and to go. Colby, Chris and Gage are three of the best guides we have had the opportunity to fish with and to say they are professional, knowledgeable and driven to exceed expectations is an understatement! Not only did we limit out both days of fishing we also had the opportunity to go after some big fish and not only found them but landed more than one! Just an awesome trip! As usual the food from my favorite chef, Joe, was spectacular and not only is he a great cook but a really nice guy to talk with and share some local knowledge. One last thing the accommodations are outstanding, safe, always clean, generously appointed and did I mention CLEAN. I will be booking again for a fall trip.See more..
