Originally built in 1927, the Saenger Theatre was designed to reflect a magnificent 15th century Italian courtyard and gardens, with a starlit evening sky ceiling, arched surroundings, statuary, columns and decorative moldings. In January 2012, the City of New Orleans, Canal Street Development Corporation (CSDC) and ACE Theatrical Group formed a public-private partnership to carry out a $52 million restoration project after the iconic theatre was severely damaged during Hurricane Katrina. The Saenger Theatre reopened in fall 2013, authentically restored to the finest level of detail, with state-of-the-art technological improvements and updated first-class amenities. The theatre hosts a wide variety of performing arts attractions including live theater, comedy shows and musical acts. Was going to Bossier City and saw Beautiful - The Carole King Story was going to be there playing one night. The theater was easy to find and parking was not a problem. The facility was just beautiful. Built in the 1920's and the elegance was intact. Sound was excellent. Was almost sold out when I purchased my tickets...sort of in the nosebleed section, but they were still great tickets. Steps are pretty steep, like most older theaters, but folks working there were very helpful. Wish I lived closer, I would become a season ticket holder!See more..

I had not realized there was an actual planetarium in Kenner, this was a pleasant surprise. The movie in the MegaDome was well done, and informative. The interactive displays were quite entertaining. I especially liked the mock up of the space shuttle and how you could walk through it and look at where everything goes inside. This is a hidden gem in Kenner.See more..

We were on vacation in New Orleans- unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any movie theaters in the central area of the city. This was a good enough theater- in a seemingly safe area, and was a very big (20 screens) theater. Had a bar in the front as well. Only bad thing was that the bathrooms on one side of the theater were closed down due to "unfortunate circumstances" , so you had to walk quite a ways to the bathroom.See more..

This is a very nice, small and we think "intimate" theatre that consistently puts on well-done shows. Last night's two-act rendition of "Arsenic & Old Lace" was no exception, which we enjoyed very much. This time I remembered to bring a soft jacket to sit on, I find the seats get a little uncomfortable for their multi-hour productions. It is only a 1/2 block south of Florid with parking available across Lafayette Street. They do have some refreshments available. Sometimes the line for their restrooms can be long, so factor that in before you come.See more..

Wonderful productions with super talent and diversity. Every seat is a good one! Theater is in the rear of the Attractions Salon with stadium seating (only 7 rows) and floor seating too. I loved seeing the old Dixie movie house...looked just as nice as it was in the 60's. and the lobby houses the temporary home of the Wible Family Quilts- a fine collection of quilts. We enjoyed every minute. I even explored the balcony! Beautiful with a huge chandelier over sea the entire movie house.
