4.0Baton Rouge Zoo(274 reviews) - Great Zoo for the price! Lots to see. Wednesday: 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM Zoos

I used to visit this zoo all the time when I was a child visiting Monroe with my aunt. After twenty the zoo has changed a lot. The night house from what I could tell is no longer open and many exhibits are closed and over grown. That said, I would still recommend a stop if you’re in the area. Admission is still cheap ($6) and adding the safari bayou and train tour is only a couple dollars more. Kids will still love this place. I didn’t get a chance to do the bayou boat ride, but I remember it being very fun. The zoo just needs better funding and it has potential to be much better like I remember.See more..
3.5Zoo Of Acadiana(127 reviews) - Not Just A Zoo, But Fun Things To Do Too!! Closed now - 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Zoos
The zoo is extremely clean and well kept. The animals seem well cared for and have ample room to roam and the aviary is a wonderful upclose experience. There are plenty of things for the kids to do besides view the animals. It is just a lot of fun for the entire family. Personally we love to go at Christmas to enjoy all of the light displays and to see the animals in their habitats at night! Eventhough the rates or somewhat high, it is worth it knowing you are helping to keep the zoo open. See more..
4.0Gone Wild Safari Park(55 reviews) - Most Laughter in a Long Time! Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Zoos
Where to start! Myself and my 3 daughters (ages 23, 18, 18) went to the Gone Wild Safari Park not expecting a big deal. We have Fossil Rim park near our house (takes 3-4hrs to drive through) and this was a small place. We ended up spending 2 hours here going through the drive through part multiple times! The camel's met us at the entrance to the drive through and the screaming/laughing started there! We were laughing the whole time through the drive with the exchanges with camel's and ostrich! The other animals in the park were fun to feed and pet as we drove, but the party started with the camel's sticking their head in the car to help themselves to the food! (Note to self, keep 2 hands on the food bucket!) This was the most laughter we've had in a long time. This place is Definitely worth the trip, and the price can't be beat!See more..

5.0Yogie and Friends Exotic Cat Sanctuary(2 reviews) - An Alternative Attraction to the Casino's of Shreveport/Bossier City, LA Nature & Wildlife Areas • Zoos
Yogi & Friends is open to the public on Saturday's only from 10am to 5pm. The co-owner was so friendly and helpful in providing information on the cats living at the sancturary. Although it really isn't much to look at from the exterior (we actually drove right past it) this really is a must see attraction while visiting Shreveport/Bossier City!See more..
