First time zip lining in the country and it was awesome. We had Cam and Ali and could not have had more fun!!!! They were so knowledgeable, so engaging, so FUNNY! Our tour guide randy was awesome. You go out into the marsh via airboat. He explains the ecosystem as well as how alligators are raised there. He grabbed a 3 foot alligator out of the water and let everyone on the boat hold it safely. We saw two other alligators as well. A great ride through a very isolated spot in the bayou.See more..
My elderly father and I took this tour as part of our recent adventure. We are both outdoorsmen and my dad has always been intrigued by the Cajun culture. Cap’n Billy Gaston, with his genuineness and obvious love for his Cajun heritage and way of life, made this tour more than we had ever hoped for. His excellent command of the ecology and history of the bayou, and the very close encounters with all manner of wildlife in the delta were amazing! We went on the tour in late April and had the tour to ourselves (myself and my 3 boys). The experience was perfect in every way. We met at Dales Trading Post at the appointed time and followed him to the launch site (plenty of parking). We got on the boat (see picture) and he told his about where we were and the outline of the tour. The boat went fast enough at times to keep you cool and we had no problem with bugs. He is a font of knowledge about but swamp and the many environmental issues facing keeping it healthy. He pointed out wildlife along the way and stopped at several points to see alligators (only on son saw one). We did see loads of bird, dragonflies, an interesting swamp spider, and learn tons about the trees and overall ecosystem of the swamp. My teen boys liked it also. We had a wonderful lunch at Carbos (about 10 min away—fresh boiled crawfish, shrimp, fried fish, okra, hush puppies—extremely local and reasonably priced). I would highly recommend.See more..
During COVID - it was a great way to celebrate my birthday without getting too close or in a crowd. It's an experience I won't forget. It was an adventure for the teens and romantic for the adults. The paddle back in darkness was so exciting with owl sounds and EYES everywhere. Bring bug spray, grab a substantial snack at the rental location, maybe a couple of beers.See more..

My family took the airboat swamp tour with Jude as our guide on a Sunday morning in June. This place is a little 'off the grid' and google maps got us a little lost because of a closed bridge, but we called Jude and he send us a screenshot with directions and we made it there just a little late. The tour was amazing, I would highly recommend it to anyone. Jude is very knowledgeable and experienced. We spent two full hours exploring the swamp ecosystem. We got to see plenty of wildlife close up, including the much anticipated alligators, who are apparently known by name to Jude! My family of 2 high school girls say it is a: '10/10 must do again' experience. Well worth the drive and reasonable fee.See more..
