I got to hold an alligator
Our tour guide randy was awesome. You go out into the marsh via airboat. He explains the ecosystem as well as how alligators are raised there. He grabbed a 3 foot alligator out of the water and let everyone on the boat hold it safely. We saw two other alligators as well. A great ride through a very isolated spot in the bayou.

Great Airboat Tour by Real Locals
Even though January is not the ideal time to go look in the bayou for alligators, our captain - Miles - made every effort and put us on a few gators! He was very knowledgeable for our party of six, and eager to answer any questions people had. He not only knew about the Bayou and wildlife, he was passionate about this area, as it has been in his family for eight generations. Check-in was easy, transportation from downtown was a breeze. I believe another reviewer mentioned that you kind of go through some quite rural communities on your way, but this is a working river/waterway, so you will see that. No time at all, though, and you are out in the bayou with nothing in sight, except an abundance of wildlife, including eagles, Osprey, gators, and other birds.

AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE. Don't miss out on this!
Had an awesome afternoon with Captain Kelly. Was beyond impressed with his knowledge of this amazing region. We did the small boat tour, which I highly recommend with a 10 and 13 year old. Captain Kelly stopped to point out amazing birds (which he also fed from the boat) and stopped for a total of about 8 alligators including on that was about 10-12' feeding them as well getting everyone (safely) very close to these amazing animals. He brought a small gator along with him and allowed those who wanted to hold it. Truly a special experience for our family and highlight of our trip to the region. Highly recommend this company and ask for Captain Kelly...you won't be disappointed!
