We began our "tour" of St. Francisville here, at the West Feliciana Historical Society. There are a few small exhibits...as well as a plethora of pamphlets that dove a little deeper. The staff was wonderful and so helpful. In fact, they helped us choose our itinerary, based on how much time we had in town, our interests, etc. Highly recommend. See more..

Spent 1-2 hours Natural History Museums

The taxidermy collection at this museum is overwhelming. There are two floors and countless animals ! You could play I Spy and miss some of the critters. You can tell the specimens were cared for and preserved with the utmost respect. The guide was full of good energy and had a lot of information on the practice and fun stories to share. I recommend this museum to everyone. See more..

"The Zigler Musem was created in 1963 by the late Mrs. Ruth B. Zigler widow of Fred B. Zigler, Jennings industrialist and philanthropist. She donated the property which has been the Zigler family home since 1908. It was enlarged by the addition of two gallery wings. Colorful and realistic Southwestern Louisiana wildlife dioramas are housed in the East wing. The West wing contains an excellent Fine Art Collection by European and American artists. A rotating exhibit is displayed in the central galleries throughout the year. The year ends with the annual Christmas Festival, featuring a wide array of trees and decorations throughout the museum."
