4.5Airboat Adventures(2.843 reviews) - Great Afternoon on the Swamps of NOLA Boat Tours
We had a great time on the airboat tour. Ronnie was our guide and he did a great job navigating us through the swamp to see way more gators then I ever thought we would see. Ronnie was funny and quick witted. He also gave a brief demonstration on how to catch a gator. The inter coastal water ways were really pretty to see. The airboat was really cool - I have never been on one before. The bus driver picked us up right at our hotel, and returned us just a few blocks away. Highly recommend the tour!See more..
Quick notes before the review! 1) Cash is a cheaper option than using a card so come prepared. 2) Consider the time of year if you are looking for alligators. This should have occurred to me, duh. The tour at Champagne’s was great fun. The tour guide Jason was knowledgeable and was very gracious about my son’s many questions. The lake itself is quite scenic and the bird life is active even in the winter. I recommend the stop!See more..
4.5Louisiana Tour Company(1.836 reviews) - Ernie is the best! Wednesday: 7:00 AM - 12:00 AM Boat Tours • Sightseeing Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours • Speed Boats Tours • Day Trips
We had an amazing time!! We almost were late, but we contacted the company on the way down from the French Quarter and they were very understanding and they did a head count before we left. We ended up not being late, but the tour still waited about 10 minutes because 2 people were missing. They didn't make it, but you can't really hold up a group of 20+ people forever. Ernie was FANTASTIC. He knows so much about the area and the waters. He was funny, kind, and you can tell he really loves what he does. For those of you who don't carry cash, pick some up before you leave New Orleans, because they cannot take electronic tips unfortunately and they have an atm, but we also only carry credit cards so we couldn't take money out there. 10/10 would recommend. Bring a jacket if you're going in off-season, it was a beautiful day, but it gets a bit chilly once you start moving.See more..
4.5Dr. Wagner's Honey Island Swamp Tours(1.463 reviews) - Absolutely loved it as the wealth of wildlife exceeded our expectations and the knowledge of our guide was awesome Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Boat Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
This was one of the last activities on our 12 day US road trip and was something I (the dad/husband of the family) had asked to do. My wife and kids (daughter of 16 and son of 21) were quite open in saying they didn't really fancy it but I am really pleased to say they loved the swamp tour as much as I did. I would have been happy seeing one gator but at one point we had about seven around the boat and the raccoons were amazing to see too. See more..
4.5Cajun Encounters Tour Company(1.366 reviews) - Exploring Wildlife and Louisiana Swamp Wednesday: 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM Boat Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
The tour was a lot of fun and we got to see lots of gators, turtles, snakes and other wildlife. Our guide Emmett was super knowledgeable, funny and made our experience in New Orleans unforgettable. We recommend this tour for anyone seeking to explore what New Orleans has to offer outside of the city.See more..
Cannot recommend this business enough! Hunter was our tour guide. While it was "off"-season for gators, the tour did not disappoint! Hunter was very knowledgeable on the local plants, fish, hunting, etc. He gave us a prime example of southern hospitality and was absolutely hilarious. There was a young boy (maybe 5 years old) on the tour, and Hunter was outstanding at keeping him entertained. We used our "go city" passes for the tour and gladly tipped Hunter for the experience. From start to finish, we felt welcomed and well taken care of. Thanks Hunter! (Give two-chainz a hug for us.)See more..
Brent could not have been a nicer tour guide. A few of us had been on swamp tours before and agreed this was much more relaxing and non commercial than our previous tours. The lake was absolutely beautiful and Brent’s appreciation for the areas vegetation and wildlife was palpable. We loved discovering this beautiful part of the country. Highly Highly recommend.See more..
4.5Louisiana Tour Company(463 reviews) - Favorite tour of the trip Wednesday: 7:00 AM - 12:00 AM City Tours • Boat Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours • Bus Tours • Air Tours
My teenage son and I did the small Airboat Tour with Captain Brad and had a blast. We chose to drive out from the city on our own and the dock was easy to find with their detailed directions. The tour started right on time and we weren't overcrowded on the airboat at all. They provided ear protection for us, which is a must for these boats. Captain Brad was a stellar boat driver. He knows his way around the swamp like the back of his hand and he's not afraid to show off his driving skills to thrill the tourists. Once we got out into the swamp, there were plenty of alligators to see and even pet. Captain Brad was extremely knowledgeable about the local creatures and helped educate us on how peaceful the alligators really are. He also helped us out with some "must do" recommendations for back in the city. It was a real thrill to be out on the water and see all of the animals and would highly recommend this tour.See more..
5.0New Orleans Airboat Tours(425 reviews) - I got to hold an alligator Wednesday: 7:30 AM - 10:00 PM Boat Tours • Eco Tours • Boat Rentals • Private Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
Our tour guide randy was awesome. You go out into the marsh via airboat. He explains the ecosystem as well as how alligators are raised there. He grabbed a 3 foot alligator out of the water and let everyone on the boat hold it safely. We saw two other alligators as well. A great ride through a very isolated spot in the bayou.See more..
5.0Airboat Tours(399 reviews) - A Must Do Tour Wednesday: 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM Cultural Tours • Historical & Heritage Tours • Boat Tours • Private Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
We recently took a tour on a smaller boat with another couple on board and Jeremy as our guide. From start to finish the experience exceeded our expectations. Check in was simple with friendly chit-chat until time to depart. Jeremy was very knowledgable and provided interesting commentary throughout. The alligators, up close, were a highlight and Jeremy found the right balance of fast and thrilling racing over the water with up close views of the vegetation and wildlife. We drove two hours out of our way to do this tour and would do it again in a second. Truly a highlight of our tripSee more..
Went on an airboat swamp tour with Cal as our driver/tour guide with myself, and my 2 SC grandsons. I live in Lafayette, approximately 20 miles from this location, and I did not realize the abundance and diversity of cypress trees (some really, really big), and swamp plants and birds. Cal not only gave us a great ride in an air boat, but he gave us all a lot of knowledge about the history of the Atchafalaya Basin, but also of the Acadians who settled in this area. I would definitely recommend this safe, professional tour to everyone, young and old. And when you go you might meet Albert. Laissez les bon temps rouler!See more..
My elderly father and I took this tour as part of our recent adventure. We are both outdoorsmen and my dad has always been intrigued by the Cajun culture. Cap’n Billy Gaston, with his genuineness and obvious love for his Cajun heritage and way of life, made this tour more than we had ever hoped for. His excellent command of the ecology and history of the bayou, and the very close encounters with all manner of wildlife in the delta were amazing! Gators, bald eagles, ibis, heron subspecies, aquatic plants, natives trees, are only a few of the flora and fauna we were able to photograph UP CLOSE! Don’t miss this one!See more..
4.5McGee's Louisiana Swamp & Airboat Tours(158 reviews) - Captain Jack is the best Tour Guide Wednesday: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM Boat Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours • Kayaking & Canoeing
My husband’s sister and her family were visiting from out of town. They wanted a true Louisiana bayou experience. We decided on a whim to do McGee’s swamp tour and had a blast!! Captain Ryan was the best!! He was very knowledgeable about life in the swamp and provided plenty of interesting natural history about the vegetation, birds, fish, and most importantly the alligators!! We saw over a dozen alligators and he drove the boat so close I could see individual scales!! It was such an amazing experience. I highly recommend Captain Ryan and McGee’s Swamp Tour for your family and visitors.See more..
Mark, grandson of Annie Miller, is also a great specialist in alligators and Marsh country. The trip in a boat accommodating about ten people is very instructive and full of stories. The highlight of the show, Mark regularly stops the boat to call his reptile friends by their names... And it works! They are rushing to the boat! A real show, to do if you pass through the country.See more..
4.5The Atchafalaya Experience(149 reviews) - Fun & Beautiful Swamp Tour for the Nature Lover Boat Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
We had a great time during our tour and would recommend the Atchafalaya Experience to anyone who wants to see what Louisiana's beautiful bayou habitat has to offer. Our guides were fun, knowledgable and got us into lesser explored places safely to see more wildlife than possible in an airboat tour. The tour was 3 hours which is much longer than your average tour and totally worth it. 10/10!See more..
5.0Louisiana Swamp Tours(124 reviews) - A must stop in Louisiana! Wednesday: 6:45 AM - 9:00 PM Boat Tours • Sightseeing Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
So glad we stopped in Breaux Bridge and booked a swamp tour with Wendy! She took our family of 5 around the lake and we got to see the prettiest birds, trees and sunset ever. I would definitely recommend!See more..
Our family had a great time on our tour with Bryce. His smaller boat allowed us to go places in the lake and see some wildlife that a larger one would not allow, which our kids were very excited about. We were also very surprised to see how beautiful everything was. This was one of our last adventures after visiting 13 states and it was in the top 3 activities that we experienced. We would abolutely recommend Acadiana Swamp Tours to anyone visiting LA.See more..
5.0The Last Wilderness Swamp Tour(119 reviews) - Educational and fun tour Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM Boat Tours • Eco Tours • Night Tours • Private Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
We went on the tour in late April and had the tour to ourselves (myself and my 3 boys). The experience was perfect in every way. We met at Dales Trading Post at the appointed time and followed him to the launch site (plenty of parking). We got on the boat (see picture) and he told his about where we were and the outline of the tour. The boat went fast enough at times to keep you cool and we had no problem with bugs. He is a font of knowledge about but swamp and the many environmental issues facing keeping it healthy. He pointed out wildlife along the way and stopped at several points to see alligators (only on son saw one). We did see loads of bird, dragonflies, an interesting swamp spider, and learn tons about the trees and overall ecosystem of the swamp. My teen boys liked it also. We had a wonderful lunch at Carbos (about 10 min away—fresh boiled crawfish, shrimp, fried fish, okra, hush puppies—extremely local and reasonably priced). I would highly recommend.See more..
Truly an amazing and unique experience. Wayne gives you an authentic look at the bayou, it's features and creatures. Nothing is staged or preplanned and Wayne not only gives you a thrilling experience but an education as well. Don't be alarmed when you get to the gate, he will be there, just text him for directions. Thank you, we would do this again in a heart beat.See more..
5.0Delaune Sailing Charters(89 reviews) - Choppy Lake pontchartrain but amazing time ! Wednesday: 9:30 AM - 7:00 PM Boat Tours • Boat Rentals
We had an amazing time with captain Rick and his mate. We were 4 girls celebrating a 30th birthday and they received us super well, calm and very educated. They would answer any questions we had about sailing. I am doing my captain license at the moment and they were just the perfect teachers. We also had a little drink at the dock at the end and just kept talking like old friends. During the sailing, rhe lake was exceptionnaly super choppy and we started being to much sea sick, so we turned back earlier than planned but they took the leftover time to do a quick tour of the bayou, which was fabulous. We saw wildlife even in winter. Fantastic crew! Thanks captain!See more..
5.0Calmwater Charters(63 reviews) - Fantastic fishing and company Wednesday: 5:00 AM - 8:00 PM Boat Tours • Fishing Charters & Tours • Kayaking & Canoeing
Captain Danny took me out for a great day of kayak fishing for reds (January). He is the pioneer of this kind of fishing in Grand Isle and knows exactly what to do! We fishing several spots before finding the right place to really nail them. Fun day with lots of great conversation and learning for me. Would definitely do it again - thanks Danny.See more..
4.5Adventures of Jean Lafitte(46 reviews) - Great bayou trip Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM Boat Tours • Eco Tours
We chose the boat instead of the airboat as my family was concerned about the noise. It was a good choice. A very pleasant ride on a great day. Saw several alligators and turtles. See more..
As a past resident of New Orleans I had taken family and friends on tours of the area swamps many times. Wow was this the best ever, I went on this one because we needed to be picked up from the French Quarter and it was included in the price. I could not believe it when our Airboat pilot made a left turn off of a beautiful Spanish moss canal into what looked like dry land we zoomed deep into swamp with barely an inch of water what a FANTASTIC rush. He stopped at an Alligator nest that he said was a recent hatchery. Then it actually beats around the grass and scoops up a baby for us to hold and photo. Best tour of swamp ever and cheaper than most.See more..
I had the pleasure on Saturday (12/19) of experiencing the Louisiana Delta with a friend on the Delta Circumnavigation Tour. Our tour guide Richie was amazing! He was super friendly, patient, passionate, and incredibly knowledgeable about the history and present day issues surrounding the Louisiana coast. I loved how he was able to answer all of my questions and he was also able to share his knowledge of the coastal wildlife with us which was super fun to see and hear about. I took so many amazing pictures and enjoyed sitting to watch dolphins play as well as walking on Scofield island. This was an unforgettable trip for us and I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see and learn more about the delta. I will be returning for another trip!See more..
Awesome guide! Could book by texting him on google maps, replied within minutes and could book by texting. Nice, as a visitor you can‘t often call without paying a lot of money ;-) Tour was amazing! Small group, not a big boat like others. He showed us good and fascinating spots in the swamp and he knows a lot about the swamp and the animals! He takes your questions and wishes serious! So asking for getting closer for a good shot? No problem at all, Corey did it! Seriousely, perfect tour! Thank you very much, the tour was a blast!!See more..
4.0Cane River Boat Tours(14 reviews) - Beautiful and relaxing Boat Tours • Sightseeing Tours
Captain Paul and his boat tour was the perfect ending to a day spent with family and friends. The view of the riverfront lights was beautiful! I enjoyed the history and the best part was when he announced it was my son’s birthday and we all sang to him. So great!See more..

3.5Cane River Queen River Boat(7 reviews) - Pleasant 45 Minutes Bar, Club & Pub Tours • Boat Tours • Private Tours • Day Trips
We spent a pleasant 45 minutes on a warm and sunny November afternoon cruising about a half mile in either direction from the boat dock. Captain Paul treated us to some interesting tidbits of history, and some blarney. Having taken a tour of the Fort Saint Jean Baptiste Historical Site earlier in the day, we wondered why, when we cruised past this site, not much mention was made of it. We also wondered why neither the Cane River Queen River Boat website not their ticket booth on Front street listed prices. We paid $22.00See more..

5.02 Da Swamp(3 reviews) - A wonderful afternoon on the bayou Boat Tours
We booked a trip with Clyde and could not be happier. Clyde told us about the history of the area, and his family, while showing us the beauty of the bayou. Once he “parked” the boat, he told us we had to wait a few minutes before Joe (the gator) would come. Like clockwork, Joe came right to the boat and got some chicken. We toured the oil field canals and Bayou Gauche, before stopping for a sting at Fisherman’s Wharf. Finally, we headed back to our starting point. The scenery was gorgeous and wildlife plentiful. But more importantly, Clyde couldn’t have been a better guide. See more..
4.5Acadian Swamp Tours(3 reviews) - Tour of small lake and swamp Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Boat Tours • Sightseeing Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
We enjoyed the tour and stories that Riley told us. He is very knowledgable of the area and a gater expert. He is the go to guy for gater removal from a property (safely taken to the swamp). The tour is on a flat boat, not the Eco damaging air boats. And he does not feed the alligators marsh mellows. Terrible thing to do on all levels. Bad for the gater and dangerous. See more..
Was a great hunt. The guilds knew what they where doing. We got there and they were ready for us. They had 2 boats . One for us and another for the helper. Bagged a big gator and saw many more. See more..
We had 20 people in our party, consisting of children, teens, adults and seniors. The deckhands were able to keep up with our needs, by helping bait, get fish in, tie hooks, and ultimately by cleaning our catch. The boat was clean, the crew was friendly and the fishing spots were excellent. This was our second trip with this charter, and we are already planning our next trip. I would highly recommend them.See more..

We went for an overnight Tuna trip and it was a blast. Everyone had plenty hook ups and tuna landed throughout the night. On the way in from the tuna fishing the fun had just started back once the sun was up, we hit some mahi mahi fishing but might as well call it mahi mahi catching because that’s how it seemed. We caught fish after fish. Lastly, we dropped some lines for snapper and grouper while continuing our journey back into the dock. Overall, trip was great an would use Loco-N-Motion Charters time after time for my offshore charter needs. See more..

We enjoyed this side trip well south of New Orleans. Capt. Troy explained the history of the area and showed us man made impact and a large reclamation project. Our family makes a yearly trip to the amazing waters of south Louisiana looking for Redfish and Sheepshead. We had to find a new captain this year and after some digging and talking we decided to give Capt David a try. He did not disappoint. We fished three days and he put us on fish every day. David is a younger Capt but put us on fish like an old sea dog. See more..
